hey whats your setup for wireless flash? i was going to get the adapters for the hot shoe so i dont have to trigger my flashes with the inbuilt one but im not sure which one.
I own this lens and it does have some focusing issues when fully zoomed in, also, the lens isn't very robust and the weight of the glass especially in the front is too heavy that it actually pulls the lens apart slightly especially around the lens locking mechanism. I sent it back for warranty and was charged $45 and after just a few hours of using, the problem came back again. This lens is highly not recommended.
yes a sony user who does portraits, you my idol, i have an a300 but its so hard because of the stupid propereity hotshoe, ive got to buy some adapters for it so i can use some radio triggers.
@alphaomegatog It's not Sony. It is Minolta. Sony bought out Minolta camera line. The hot shoe was changed by Minolta back in the late 80's or early 90's.
i was going to get this lens but its not that good for portraits due to the wide perspective, the 28-75mm f2.8 was the legend that spawned its little brother the 17-50mm.
thats stupid. why would you shoot 2.8 with a white background. just making it less sharp

I'd recommend the 17-50 over this lens for most people, but I think the 17-50 is mainly for dx format so you have to consider carefully.
