i know how to use xwinwrap and i know how to set a screensaver as my background, including without xwinwrap, but what i really want to know is how you used the nautilus desktop with the screensaver background. I got myself desktop icons with a program called "idesk" but its not as good as nautilus, so could you please explain how you did that? your tutorial doesn't seem to clue in on how that works
There are some excellent tutorials out there, especially on the Ubuntu Forums. Search there, or just search Google, "nVidia compiz ubuntu", and you'll find a great tutorial. Good luck!
Hey thanks! I finally did get it to work. I actually think my card wasn't supported by the Ubuntu drivers. It was a nVidia GeForce 256. I ended up changing the card and used the drivers and I finally got it to work. It's so cool! I love it =)

Um... maybe there's an option for that? try asking for help on a forum somewhere.

Pretty cool! I would try compiz fusion, but I have to figure out how to get 3D acceleration on my nVidia card to work properly in Ubuntu.
