Godin employees work for an average of ten years, and if they quit after a minimal time, they seriously look into why. Id think twice about tainting peoples views on Robert Godin and the company because of something you heard from someone who heard it from someone else. Make up your own minds people!
Hand made in Canada and assembled in the USA, and it was only 494$ CAD.
This is an awesome guitar and I recommend it highly, very highly.
Very diverse sounds from Godin guitars, my only qualm is with the finish on the neck. It's a bit sticky, but other than that, these are solid, great sounding gitfiddles.
I could design a better playing, better sounding guitar than anything these mass produced makers have out there and with less damage to this planet and for less money.
Sad sad sad..step into a store and find plastic coated guitars(just GOBBED on there) that sound lame and can't stay in tune.
I don't care for the guitars I've seen so far from them. They make quality instruments obviously, with much attention to detail too.
Still I just don't get all this mania about flame maple tops. Why put maple on mahogany? To catch one's eyes, that's why.Let's cake on some finish to diminish the tone...huh??
Gretch is another one,I tried a $1,800 guitar with the thickest plastic finish,it lifeless,it *sounded* plastic.Lol,I'd NEVER buy such a guitar.
Godin has better quality than fender, and most of their models are less expensive since they can't charge as much for their brand name as fender can. The passion series, however, I think is their most expensive series of guitars. Check out their website.
or get this Ibanez Artcore AG95D Electric it plays really nice i play alternitave rock punk metal and im getting into jazz and blues and such so that ibanez is a good blues guitar i played it and loved it i actually really enjoyed playing it so should i go with it or do u have any other sugestions bcuz it seems like u know preety much(the end so im going to stop typing...i think)
finally , i hate Robert as much as i love his products . He got the passion for quality , evey employee i saw , is putting is heart on the work even if underpaid , the team knows that doing shit work will result a failure at final inspection . I encourage you all to play Godins , but try to buyed them used , on ebay . Look for rebates . Dont put too much money straight in Robert's pockets . Hes living nicely on poor people guys ;)
wow dude you know alot thx for the tip...and im sorta a begginger ive been playing for about 6 months now(plz check out my seconed video and coment)and im kinda tired of my guitar and it doesnt fit my standards do u have any sugestions of a new guitar. i plan to jazz up my guitar and a new pickguard new pickups and kinda upgrade it(to be continued)
@LeftHandedJay Woe, is this so?!?! I really love this guys guitars - excellently priced and very well built (he could easily ask a good deal more for them) - but didn't know he ripped off his employees. That's quite of a put down. Thanks for the info.
By ''Esp , Gibson , Godin'' i was talking about ''mass production guitars'' , and my own taste too . So dont tell me i know jack about Paul reed smith and other really high end luthiers
In my opinions , the best necks around goes (from first to last) Esp , Gibson , Godin .
But , Robert godin is quite an asshole , and pays his employees the less possible . Godin get parts built by Major companies , then shut the name , and goes like ''this is Godin new concepts in guitar , we reinvented everything'' No fuckin way , but yes , a Godin is unique and addictive , and beautiful . If you get paid more then 12 $ an hour in his shops , youre a boss or engineer ! NOT FUN !
I work at the acoustic plant in La Patrie , quebec . Whatever what wgaes are in quebec , we are taking about guitars , they use good employees that could be paid way better in other GUITAR shops , thats the only point .
I bought my Sister an entry-level Godin accoustic guitar a couple of years back as they were trying to put their name out there into the lower-end market. The sound was BEAUTIFUL!!! A deep, full and rich sound that was a joy to listen to. It came in even cheaper in price than some of the other entry-level guitars including the old favorite Yamaha! It sounded a lot better as well. Hats off to Godin guitars!

Godin is very innovative. It's a shame that I haven't been able to truly bond with the 2 Godin guitars I've had.

Hi...is this godin the same quality as a fender...how much does it cost?
Nerdboyguy 2 years ago
you're going to hear both, but in my opinion godin guitars compare favorably with american fenders worth a lot more

One of the best indeed. Godin of one of the few companies who's guitars stand on their own merit, not the brand name.

@LeftHandedJay do you have any proofs of Robert's vanity or Godin's staff underpayment ?

@raphexe Well , Robert takes pride in what he does , who doesn't ? Now , jobs that gives you something like 10 $ an hour , that's a little shittier .
