  • Sir do you have any uploaded videos on target transitioning while moving?

  • okay, just posted on the double tap thing noting I've found that the follow up thing works for multiple targets, random click and find this... I shoulda just posted a link and said "this guy says it better anyway"

  • I learned that with a fusil galil, Nice videos!

  • is that a 1911? if so what name and model? like you videos so i subscribed.

  • I like that, never thought of using the recoil to engage another target.

  • What sbout if you need to shoot from right to left?

I think this si another story. LOL.

    Nice video

  • @jonzurc

cause he shots right handed :)

  • @Quartz91 doesnt matter what hand you shoot with. you are thinking about how trigger jerk might affect your aim. the rifling of the barrel dictates the recoil direction.

  • @jonzurc the idea is always look for the best order of targets, most dangerous then left to right...i believe that is how marine snipers are trained if I'm not mistaken

  • @jonzurc if that be the case then you have to fight the direction that your gun tends to recoil and it will take slightly longer for you to gain a good sight picture.

  • Good on ya, double taps with your .45.

I was doing double taps with a .45 at a range in the Philippines once, and the onlookers were giving me shit for it. "You won't need to double taps the bad guy with a .45," they said.

I said, "Better be safe than sorry."

  • haha maybe in a country where everyone is 5 feet tall, but in America where you can have a 6 foot 250 pound drugged up guy, you incapacitate. Also even with a 45 you can find plenty of stories where 1 wasn't enough. Shot placement is key and well having enough lead in them to put them down.

  • Shoot to kill. If deadly force isn't justified, why are you shooting the person? It works forwards and backwards.

  • Does the gun always recoil up and to the right even if you're a left-handed shooter?

  • Yes, because the rifling is right hand twist and when the bullet contacts the rifling, it torques the pistol that direction.

  • Does it have as dramatic effect in a polygonal bore as in a standard lands and grooves? For instance, would my HK USPc .45 torque up and to the right as much as a pistol of similar size and weight but with a traditional barrel?

  • Yes. It's just a different way to impart a twist to the bullet to stabilize it in flight.

  • @shootingcoach are there any left-handed rifling?

  • im 16 and i learned this stuff in a few days after that gravvy thats why these vids are so use full look at it once and u got it assuming your a fairly smart individual

  • Whew, that's arrogant.

  • Yep. Theory and Practice are 2 different things. lol.

  • you should make a few videos on rifles, your videos are very helpfull

  • Might be a silly question. I know in your other videos you've used your 1911. In this video and the double tap video, are you using your 1911 as well?

  • So far, I've used the same gun in all the videos. I just got a new one back from the gunsmith and will be using it. It is also a Taurus PT1911 .45

  • thanks a lot for the videos Mr Coach.

    They are really ussefull.

I cant see very well but by your shadow is more clearly. think on the cam position.

    Thanks

  • love your vids... i think it would be easier to really "see" what you're doing if the camera was directly over yoru shoulder, instead of behind you

  • are you actually aiming through your posts when you fire or are you just pointing and shooting with some particular technique?

  • Why is it the recoil to the right? You said, "up and to the right". Why is it that it recoils to the right?

  • It recoils to the right because that is the direction of the rifling. When the bullet hits the rifling, it twists the gun to the right.

  • So you shoudl always go left to right in transitions then? That makes sense, thank you.

  • How many years have you been into competition shooting? I love you programs!!!

  • Thanks for sharing this...Do you really coach for IPSC/IDPA??

  • The place of the camera is really inappropriate, unfortunately the only thing visible when you shoot is your back. I've your other videos in my favorites and they are really useful, I suggest to you to make another one for this demonstration of target transition, filmed from a better angle. Thanks for your lessons Mr Coach.

  • Are you in LE? Really want to know...

  • No, I'm not. I was a top IPSC competitor years ago. I have won several matches, shot on the Super Squad at the nationals, won stages at the nationals for a few years, but never the whole enchilada. I was a member of Team Springfield and was sponsored by Safariland, Dillon Precision and others.

  • SC,

Is that a serpa holster that you are using?

  • No it's not. I can't remember the brand but it is a small company out of Oklahoma.

  • i liked how u shot ub 2:22

  • So good. Needs a lot of practice

  • Nice clip thanks for sharing.

    Long live shooting sports

  • Excellent video, should have moved the camera a wee bit right

  • Would be better if there was video from a hat/hose cam.
