i was at least expecting the vending machine to transform into a huge robot, and then it would jump 10000000 feet in the air, and take aim with some targeting system at the guy who bought the coke, and then fire some huge lazer beam and then the whole city blow up and then the robot come back down and turn back into a soda machine again, and the guy is all scorched with his hair all blown back and has his coke in hand.

Yes it's a 500ml can for 120yen in this case. It's sold at 100yen in other places. Most cans were sized 350ml a decade or so ago and then it started selling 500ml cans at same price. Both sizes are still available to this date, and that's why 500ml cans have "+150ml" printed on it.
