Supercharger gives you a shit load of TQ and instant power where Turbos give you a larger boost in HP and it takes a few seconds for the turbo to kick in but when it does you notice more power at higer RPMs
Iv seen both Supercharged and Turbo ludes that are really fast, It just depends if you wanna go extremely fast in top end speeds or extremely fast off the line. Its all up to you man =p
Yes its possible, the setup is extremly insane. They have a current setup with Two turbos that feed directly into a supercharger that produces 44 PSI on mid boost with the turbos. Which means you better have an oxygen tank because more than likely you will end up in the atmosphere somewhere.
however its not practical by any means, and i Dont think the engine bay in the prelude is big enough to accommodate all the shit you would need.

Pick one and you will be a happy camper, with ceramic bearing turbos with new impeller designs, lag is all but elimated unless you are running a really huge turbo, in which case you can utilize nitrous as a supplement as they do in drag racing

you dont get shit from supercharging honda's. Their to small to be wasting power to get power. Fortunetly spinning a turbo requires wasted energy, not to mention the heat it gives away. superchargers are good for instant low to mid rpm's range hp, the only downside is that you can only get the same amount of power no matter how much you rev it.
the turbos are better for top end power with the ability to raise the amount of pounds of boost at the turn of a dial for insane power.
definately turbo chargin is cheaper, plus u get top end power out of a turbo, if it's belt driven a supercharger actually takes some hp away to produce more horsepower, but best bang for your buck is nitrous oxide dude, i had both nitrous and turbo, and i'll be honest i had more fun with the bottle....

is it normal for your idle to be that low? i have a supercharged h22 lude and my idle is low like that to. around 800 i would say. and if i rev it and then just let the revs drop it will usally shut off when the revs get lower they will just kep droping.
The car weighs more than those cars. 220WHP/190TQ isn't as much as you'd think in a 2950-3042lb car that most owners will not strip down to the metal. This is why if you don't live in CA or NY, most people prefer a turbo.
I live in Cali and run a turbo on my 98 prelude. I'm running a greddy tdo5 turbo kit. It has a carb # on it to pass visual inspection. OBD1 p28 conversion,hondata s300, graddy bov, tanabe 3" exhaust mugen test pipe, fully built...15 psi on the streets.

turbos will walk over superchargers anyday of the week, assuming its setup properly and tuned well. yes superchargers dont have the same lag as turbo's but once turbos get boost then its "see ya later". not too mention turbos when not under boost improve your mpg.
Not just any turbos, but high performance turbos that will cope with heat and lag as RPM rises. Mind you, the big advantage of turbos over superchargers is that some turbos can take punishment at high revs, where superchargers don't. For quick boost at low rpms, superchargers are better than turbos.
that blower really doesnt do much for the cost of it, its too slow to keep up with that snappy motor. a friend of mine laid out some serious coin for one, only to get rid of it and go with a turbo
I hope you're kidding. Forced induction engines need all the cool air they can get, and getting from outside the engine compartment is the best way, since the JRSC for the Prelude can't be intercooled. and if anything, you lose 1-3 ft/lbs of torque. Good luck with it man!

definately turbo chargin is cheaper, plus u get top end power out of a turbo, if it's belt driven a supercharger actually takes some hp away to produce more horsepower, but best bang for your buck is nitrous oxide dude, i had both nitrous and turbo, and i'll be honest i had more fun with the bottle....

all depends. but you can go turbo for cheaper most of the time. tons of people selling their turbo set ups for ludes. i barely ever see anyone selling their jrsc.

My friend has a 98 prelude turbo, it runs and sounds so amazing, you have no clue. but i like the way this supercharger sounds :) at least you not another honda faggot whos goes straight for the muffler tip! lol

not necessarily so, turbos are always running so they tend to wear out a lot faster than superchargers, which work only during acceleration

is it normal for your idle to be that low? i have a supercharged h22 lude and my idle is low like that to. around 800 i would say. and if i rev it and then just let the revs drop it will usally shut off when the revs get lower they will just kep droping.

The car weighs more than those cars. 220WHP/190TQ isn't as much as you'd think in a 2950-3042lb car that most owners will not strip down to the metal. This is why if you don't live in CA or NY, most people prefer a turbo.

I live in Cali and run a turbo on my 98 prelude. I'm running a greddy tdo5 turbo kit. It has a carb # on it to pass visual inspection. OBD1 p28 conversion,hondata s300, graddy bov, tanabe 3" exhaust mugen test pipe, fully built...15 psi on the streets.

actually...hes right. I've driven both. I've worked on both, more than i want to talk about. A superchager is better for the STOCK 2.2 motor. REASON BEING a 2.2 STOCK 2.2 motor is not designed for more than 200 hp.

The supercharger kit from jackson racing is designend for our motors. granted our ECU is going rape us of a lot of hp, the supercharger takes advantage of the whats avaliable while operating the motor's safe zone. Any turbocharger is going to push a stock motor to its breaking point UNLESS you've built your motor OR unless youre pushing low boost with decent fuel managment. I am

I prefer supercharger over turbo because power is instananeous...well faster than a turbo.. Who cares if it doesnt put out like 400 hp. its a 2.2L engine! if you want more power then you need more displacement

turbos will walk over superchargers anyday of the week, assuming its setup properly and tuned well. yes superchargers dont have the same lag as turbo's but once turbos get boost then its "see ya later". not too mention turbos when not under boost improve your mpg.

Not just any turbos, but high performance turbos that will cope with heat and lag as RPM rises. Mind you, the big advantage of turbos over superchargers is that some turbos can take punishment at high revs, where superchargers don't. For quick boost at low rpms, superchargers are better than turbos.

I hope you're kidding. Forced induction engines need all the cool air they can get, and getting from outside the engine compartment is the best way, since the JRSC for the Prelude can't be intercooled. and if anything, you lose 1-3 ft/lbs of torque. Good luck with it man!
