  • すでに、ヘッドバンしてる♪ Just like the fans at V-kei concerts, audience keeps banging their head through. (Can ... stand losing your cute hair, Sting.)

  • Question: Why do i usually always see tape on certain drum kits? Are they broken or are they like for sound? Ex at 2:09 on the snare?

  • @TheBalloonHoax For sound :)

  • How young they were…

    Full of energy.

Performing seemed to be still very exciting for them.

I only saw that energy in Sting again on the Dream of Blue Turtle Tour in Frankfurt Festhalle.

    Thanks for posting this!

    Stewart: octobans - wow!

  • god those snare hts are so powerful

  • The POlice are plain awesome :)

  • Stewart Copeland is the man.

  • @stubi89bence it's a Jamaican accent, not American. Sting loves reggae.

  • Nice segue into "Regatta de Blanc" partway through the song :-)

  • @CaptainBungonia They did the same thing when I saw them in '82! One of the best concerts I ever went to!

  • even the energy not like that year, but i was watching those guy at Brisbane 2008

  • very happy to see & hear this :D

  • Since May, 1981, The Police/ Sting remains my all-time favourite band ever!!!!!!!

  • Amazing song, amazing band, one of my most favorite songs ever!

  • Bow Down

  • As a singer and song writer myself I can sympathize with them, I sometimes find that pronouncing lyrics the British way will either sound better or Rhyme better with whatever line is before or after I sing it.

They knew what they were doing, ant sounds better than aunt for this song.

  • @stubi89bence Stewart Copeland is American. His father was one of the founding members of the CIA.

  • sophistication played with reckless abandonment-beautiful.Sting always complained that copeland rushed the beat and he does, but it still works great!!

  • Andy Summers is amazing guitarist &

Stewart Copeland is an incredible drummer.

  • 5Stars

It was such a shame that they couldnt stay friends back in those days. For my own selfish reasons, I can only imagine how much more great music they could have done had their(Sting & Copeland) ego's not derailed such a creative career as a band. But glad they could get back together recently.

  • Man looking at this again, Copeland just fuckin killed it man. What an inspiration! Hope i meet him someday

  • @JazzSage23 NO DOUBT. Stuart has never nearly gotten enough recognition!!

  • hes the best in the band im sorry im biased as a drummer but he is like a top ten drummer of all time and he lives in the shadow of sting who i dont think ranks nearly as high as a bass player or singer (still fantastic though)

  • Amazing!

  • long live Copeland

  • Stewart!!!

  • Love this. It is a longer version. I love Andy's guitar solo in the original, but in this one it is even better, plus Stewart gets to do some mad drumming!!!!

  • Stewart Copeland baby!!!

  • ancient drum n bass!!!

    pay attention to the drummer

    AMAZING BAND!!

  • @FUNKYTRIPUNKY I know I'm late to reply to your comment, but I felt the same way about Mr Copeland. This mofo filled the sh*t out of some police songs. Definitely ancient drum n bass. Just listen from 1:36!

  • I love this song so much... And it's great so see The Police in their young years! =)

Oh, if you like, you can watch my video response! I covered the song on guitar :-)

  • this song is kinda tragic

  • thx for uploading! now both my ears and my eyes are fully satisfied and I'll go to bed now and sleep well! ; D

  • BEST SONG EVERR

  • THE BIGGEST Police fan here..... ;played Outlandos over and over along with Zenyatta and Ghost when I was 14 in 1981......Saw The Police on the Nickelodeon channel this year!!!

  • I miss sting's energy on stage

  • @keepitup75 i miss sting's hair

  • THE POLICE!!!

  • No.

  • He is buff for sure

  • LOVE THIS SONG

  • dyy - thanks so much for that comment. Thanks to it i got my fifteen year old son to actually listen (as opposed to the usual hear and endure) this song and he a big LP fan agreed with you. Thanks! It is nice to have a sliver in common with him when it comes to music.

  • the intro sounds a little bit like a linkin park long

    :P

Btw, Love this song! Outlandos forever!

  • reggae?

  • It s so much fun listening to stewart copeland! good style!

  • iooohhh iohhhhh ieeeyoohhhhh! ;-)

  • estas flipao perdido

  • i think this video captures the energy of one of the best bands ever. thank you!

  • 5:40 Stewart ate watermelon. lol

  • It was on friday the 7th of september 1979 in de Vliegermolen in Voorburg. The support act was a dutch band called Vitesse. Producer was Alfred Lagarde and he was the guy who took the people waiting in front of the door in to watch the soundcheck. It was my first Message in a Bottle.

  • the best ever version of cant stand in my opinion !

  • I my god.. where did this one come from, stewart is so rewarding to watch. he is a true power house of drum energy like no other. sting and andy are cool too don't get me wrong. the ultimate three piece band ever.

  • Yesterday concert in Poland was amazing - great show. I love this song...

  • Spectacular. And lmao at the watermelnon. I was watching and I'm just like wtf is he doing? Then I realized. The Police are legends though.

  • Ultracool

  • 1:43!!!!

  • Priceless. Love that fretless bass! :D

  • My bad!! He does eat watermelon while playing this song! Now that's talent!

  • This is awesome!! At this same concert stewart was eating watermelon while drumming! LOL

  • Great video, a real gem. From some TV show I guess, the way it's filmed. From 1979. Give us the specifics!

  • It's from Veronica's Countdown September 7,1978 at Voorburg, Holland.

  • Thanks for the info on the clip, even if eight months have passed. This is definitely the best version of this and Regatta I've ever heard.

  • I actually made a mistake, the year is'79, but the month and day is correct.

  • Much obliged. No apology neccessary.

  • you need to google the lost bbc tapes by the police..its a torrent download on mp3 and they have a version very close to this...same time period and it surpasses even this one..check it out. they sound similar but the bbc one just has extra spark
