Sorry but I've been teaching marital arts for years and people just dont want to admit that knowing martial arts only raises your chances for winning by a little bit...not much and the fight no matter who it is...is still about a 50 50 chance...exspecially when there is a weapon involved. What happens if you face a patient fighter that uses his reach. For example: one that uses a lightning jab to the wrists or the inner part of the forearm in order to discourage face or upper body protection. Another words to make the person put there hands down so to expose the face briefly?
