Life isn't fair. Mr Conti has taken the guitar solo to a much higher level. And he can play the blues. I note the idiosyncratic use of 8 strings.

I was never much good on the guitar. But I could imagine what I wanted to hear, and Mr Conti is the only person whose playing is anywhere near to how I imagined great finger work to be.

Discovering him on YT is a dream become reality.

@encounter1000 There are some good vids of Mr. C playing with a band on his channel. You're right, it's much better to see/hear him w/a band. Some of these solo guitar and rhythm track videos are from the NAMM shows where you have a very limited space, plus you are travelling to Anaheim or Nashville. I imagine that it would be a bit of work and expense to get a band in a booth at a NAMM show. You'll see alot of duo playing there--but man he can sure play along with anything!

I know he was nationally famous some years ago, there are videos on here of him playing on talk shows and things back in that day. He is also a mainstay on most "best jazz guitarists" lists if you put in a search for that in the internet. Criminally underrecorded though, believe, at least as a solo artist. This guy's a brilliant business mind, also. His lessons are all over the internet, magazines, etc. The go to guy for jazz lessons apparently. You can do private lessons in three hour blocks at $100 an hpur, if you don't mind flying to Vegas :). Also does lessons by mail.

Why on earth is there nothing with this man and live musicians as good as him. He always seems to play with mingers. Wake up world to the genius of Robert Conti. Mr Conti also wake up to to what you have and team up with a decent keyboard player/producer to do your backing tracks if you're not playing with live musicians. You are letting yourself down.
