I don't agree that the government ceasing to recognise marriage would be disruptive. In fact, it's the best, easiest, and least controversial way to obtain marriage equality. I don't recall granting the government permission to define my relationships, so if I say I'm married, that's my decision and not the government's. And, if a Christian doesn't want to recognise that, fine. It's not like it affects my relationship in any way.

It looks like your argument works only when people can marry for love. In most of the world and up to about 100 years ago, people married who they were told to by their parents. No one would marry a man to a man because two men do not have the phyical ability to produce offspring together. They could involve a third party or even a fouth, for egg donation and surrogacy, but the child will not be decendants to both men at the same time.

Ok, so the term is homosexual. I would like to point out the SEXUAL part. Being a homosexual means you are sexually attracted to men. Sex and love are not the same. A heterosexual guy can love another guy. There just won't be sex.
