Me and the wife make this drive at least twice a year from San Diego to San Francisco. It's one of the only reasons i stay sane, seriously. Drive a couple hours north of Morrow Bay, stop at random turnoff at an abandoned beach. Realize that the entirety of the California coast was once this desolate and beautiful. Weep for humanity, walk on the beach for two hours and not see another human. Batteries recharged, I'm good for another six months of mindless grind trading hours for dollars. Repeat..

@Bryant5493 well hmm .. i dunno , honestly i seen why , but ya your right its dangerous .. but dont forget that basicaly no1 drives this road .. i wouldnt be surprised if the aadt here drops below 1k in some sections.

I drive down Devils Slide three times a day due to my Job.There is nothing scarier than driving a 40ft. bus and meeting a big rig on the curve..I recommend filming the slide when you get a chance..Next year the tunnel will be finished and the slide will be a memory.

@CAMINOANDALUZ that may be a question for brent .. honestly i dont know .. but wat do know is they are doing repair's constantly .. but due to earthquakes i dunno .. another possibility of repeair would be massive rock slides along a few sections .

I know, we would be replacing one financial disaster with another but it would atleast be a non-corrupt, cool looking and willing-to-get-out-of-the-cris­is state instead of lazy Greece.

And both their climates and landscapes are the same ofcourse (except for the Islands :p).
