Its a French import that was barely released at all, but it had the intriguing plot of an orphan discovering that their imaginary escapist world is actually real and in danger from a newly emerged dark tower that has brought an army of evil beasts with it. The gameplay was ancient, but the graphics had a charming and creepy Tim Burton feel to them and it was definitely creative if not polished.

The soundtrack remains amazing IMHO :)

I was going to complain about the lack of Myst songs on here, but then I realized that none of the Myst soundtracks were particularly haunting. Memorable and beautiful, certainly, but none of them were really haunting enough to belong on a Top 15 list.

How could you not have included the soundtrack from Alan Wake? It's by far one of the greatest soundtracks in a video game and very haunting. I understand that every person has diffrent opinion on music but Alan Wake's soundtrack is absolutely superb. Just listen to the track "Departure".Your list is very good though, you have good taste in scary music. Silent Hill definately deserves the top spot.

Oh Medieval! Nostalgia of playing that game on the PS1! Even though I only had the demo it was still great. I don't know about you though but catacombs-Diablo 1 OST or Time Splitters 3-Mansion of madness is just so freaking scary!

I agree with Giygas, i'd also probably add in Shadow Man's soundtrack, it had some creepy music. Manhunt also had some intense/unnerving scores, someone uploaded them to Youtube if you want to listen to some.

Anything from Shadow of the Colossus is beautifully liliting in a haunting way. Though I have to agree with your number one pick. Silent Hill 2 has some of the best music all throughout it, hands down.

Lavender Town was my favourite track off pokemon. So awesome.

Anyway, I don't think the medievil soundtracks are particularly haunting. They're fun and I like them, but "haunting"... Nah.

I guess Fallout 1 and 2 don't count(Ambient, but they are synthesized music), but they have to be my favorites. Great list though needs more Majora's Mask. Hey there's a trailer Idea!

I'm a little disappointed not seeing The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask there. That game had some of the creepiest music I've ever heard! And it's even rated E! You should check out some of the music on YouTube. Ikana theme for an instance. ;)

I REALLY considered a Quake or Quake 2 track but I had so many others it was painful trimming it to fifteen. Maybe some time I'll just do a showcase of my favorite music, although that could take awhile XD

Its a level in Pokemon Red/Blue (i think, i know its form a Pokemon game) for GB. The background music is extremely creepy, there's even a creepypasta about it.

Its calming, but its...eerie to me. It sounds like an eldritch chant and the distant guitars are unsettling.

But this is just my opinion list. Have you ever thought about making one yourself? I'd love to see! ;)
