actually its fairly simple. there is only one certainty when you are born, and that is death. It is imminent! so instead of a new car and a second house, if you just start to explore the reason for your existance, you will certainly walk this path. When you are old and cynical about life, it may be a little late to achieve what you can if you start early.

Then you are absolutely ignorant about the phenomenon called skillful means. Do not be deceived by your pre-conceived ideas about lies. There is such a thing as useful lies. Just like a doctor who gives you placebo pill, and you feel better. In the same say, there are skillful means to lead one towards one's enlightenment.
