It`s too bad Tony does`nt play fiddle as well as Randal plays guitar. Or maybe he does. for starts. Its an nice version of Port na Pbucai. Oisin Mac Auley has a great one also. It`s funny how this version has some much of major flavor to it. Very different.
@Pagra50 Tony is playing the guitar and Randal is playing the fiddle.....Tony's guitar playing is incredible though...seriously ,do check out some of Randal's other video's though,he is a great fiddle player.
@itmusicallyfits I am aware of the situation. I was referring to Randall Bays ability as a guitarist which mimics his skill on the fiddle. Ever heard his version of An Kiree fo Sniaghtey?? It`s devastatingly beautiful. I have only seen it on the CD collection "Masters of Irish Guitar".
it means ghost or spirit or...from what I know of Irish...elephant, chainsaw, santa's wife, the medical name for the back of the knee, a goose fart, backhoe loader, the act of going into the kitchen and forgetting why, the little bits train conductors punch out of tickets...
Yes, that's right, about the storm. I left the show early because of it--and ended up riding on the Edmonds ferry during the height of it! A memorable night, all around.
Ironically the best version of this song I've heard is played by Martin Hayes and Denis Cahill on their "Live In Seattle" album. It forms the first song of a 27 minute long medley which is one of the most, and I don't exaggerate, incredible pieces of musical co-operation I've ever heard.

Lovely stuff from two great players. There are many fine versions, but I must say that Tommy Peoples' is the one that just kills me.
