There's no such thing as "all-black" music in the US. No culture worth listening to was created in a vacuum, and no such thing has ever actually existed in the US for the simple reason no culture has evolved in total isolation. But I will give him credit for acknowledging, unlike most rock critics (who as Frank Zappa pointed out are almost all idiots), that rock music is a hybrid of both white and black musical influences.
