Awesome vid man, makes me proud to be a biker, proud of my bike and i luv doing such outta the ordinary stuff especially when riding my bike, gives me a beautiful rush.
I'm Dave and I'm a new father too- yet many drivers still fail to see me..
I don't have a neon sign. All I have to protect me is my training.
If you don't have a neon sign either then why not have a look at my channel if you're a Dave, or Nick and Helen, or an Amy and Paul, or a Simon or a Big Chris, or a Trevor..
I don't want to destroy the boat but in Asia I think there would be a completely different scenario. from 0:45 it will be 4 hours of names.. "Look out for ............................................." . But if you can't see big bikes then something is wrong.
i need i neon sing above me wen im ridin people just dont seem to notice me its not like im waring camo gear i have a big shiney hivis jaket always have my lights on but people just dont nottice lol
The point of the ad is to remind drivers that those are PEOPLE riding motorcycles; anonymity on the road is what detaches drivers from recognizing each other as humans; someone that somebody cares about!
Well I had the misfortune of getting wipe out by a car the other day and I'm very lucky to be alive. My arm is in a cast, my whole body is aching and stiff as a board and my bike was scooped up with a shovel and stuck in a bin-bag by the police...
"sorry mate I didn't see you" just doesn't cut it anymore when I was wearing a bright blue helmet on a bright blue bike with light on and wearing a hi-vis jacket. The police agree as the driver got done for driving without due care and attention...
Sorry, this is a bad Public Information Film. It is not hard hitting at all. Past "Think!" adverts have been much more effective, so why is this one so diluted?
Sorry there mate, I gotta disagree. I think this is a brilliant little film, very clever. The so called 'hard hitting' ads do absolutely nothing for me or anyone else I know. We as a society (of the Youtube generation!) are just too immune to these 'shock' ads - they just wash over us. Whereas this is appealing from a different angle, appealing on a more personal level. I drive cars, but I also have 4 bikes (I race 2), and all the pure car drivers I know think it's great. Thumbs up from me!
hi flirtycow! the song is called 'If you go to know me' by Stephan Altman. You can download it from our facebook page :) (the link is in the info of this video)
I'm a biker too and eventhough a very small minority of bikers act stupidly on the road, the rest is simply riding their bike for the fun, passion or practical aspects of it.
This ad emphasises the fact that it's not because bikers wear a helmet and protective gear (therefore making their face not visible) that they are mean spirited or on their bike to raise hell.
Thanks for this ad, I sent the link to my non-biker friends here, in France!
75% of all motorcycle accidents involve a car or truck and the 66% of those were caused by a car violating the right-of-way of the motorcycle. "Not being seen by cars" is the single biggest cause of motorcycle accidents. Stats per the Hurt study.
Hi KittyCatB94, the song is called If you got to know me by Stephan Altman. You can download the song at our facebook page, you can find the link at the top right corner of this page. Thanks :)
@bismuthcadmium Ive seen cars doing illegal street racing and burnouts near where I live!
That doesnt mean all cars do that.
It is just a crazy minority that gives the bad impression. So please, for your own sake and others, stop being so ignorant. This ad. is better than most motorbike safety ads Ive seen.
car drivers are the worst! i drive a car and ride a bike and i feel safer on my bike because its smaller and alot easier to manouver but cars dont even look out fo bikers thats there problem
i see lots of comments, but no-one has made the obvious one. no matter what the vehicle there are good and bad drivers/riders. with this they are trying to get away from the rider being faceless, showing that there are people under that clothing.
for a safer road we ALL need to take more responsibility and care of the other road users.
i am looking forward to another season out on my bike, and i'll keep teaching new drivers to watch out for bikes.
I ride and don't like dealing with idiot drivers. But I also don't like seeing an idiot on a bike zip past at 130mph on a double yellow and then a few miles down the road he laying on the side of the road dead. Because he would say a car didn't see him. They look they guesstimate how long before you will get to where they are pulling out. But at the speed limit. Not at 3 times the speed limit. Race on tracks ride on roads. Yeah it's boring but it's the way most not all I know, react to traffic
Oh and the reason why we speed on motorbikes, is because we don't like to sit next to you car drivers, none of you do passnger side headchecks nor do you look at the mirror, the only thing about this commercial, it doesnt show the truth, that majority of car drivers are terrible and even with those big ass signs on our heads, you drivers still wouldnt see us and you would still change lane and don't argue it because i've seen it happen right infront of my eyes
i ride a bike on the road and ill tell you wats the biggest danger to anyone on the road. A car driver who has no clue how to drive, which mind you is over 95 percent of the car drivers on the road. Majority of you know how to accelerate, brake and turn on a car, but 95 percent of you have no clue how to properly drive therefore being the biggest danger. Motorcyclists are more alert than all of you sitting in your cars thinking your safe
@SpasticCollin yup you are the exact person this advert is aimed at. Many riders ride within the limits especially on single lanes, and drivers fail to see them unless they are speeding around. Point proven really.
@tosgem Dam cars should not be on the roads. Simple as that.
There you go. That sounds like a pretty intelligent statement if I ever heard one. Would you care to elaborate as to why motorbikes shouldn't be on the road?
FINALLY! A bloody good bike advert. It's not the usually "hey if you're on a bike you should be afraid as you're gonna die", or "watch out car drivers we're gonna be nailing past any second, surprise!!" it portrays us as real people instead of assholes. I ride quick when appropriate, but all the near misses happen when I'm going at traffic speeds due to drive inattention. THANK YOU, more like this please!
Awesome! Its a shame that in Poland, goverment is so badly set for polish bikers with commercials like: "Spring comming, there will be new vegetables" ;/ UK GOT GREAT ADD! KEEP IT UP!
