@NinjaMoose0 I agree bro, I skim in LBI all the time and it's infested with tourists who just stand there on the waters edge. It seems like the waves are only good when they do it. They should open up skim only beaches!

@RideStudios that happens to me too! i just learned skimboarding an right now and im in aruba. theres a beach called druif beach and the waves are kinda big. but thats not my point. its just that theres always some toddler standing at the front so i have to stop and pick up my board and go 'AROUND' . and right after i stop the toddler runs away and i wasted a perfectly good wave. =(

everyone says skimboarding is easy, but i bet that's just from watching the kids skim with the $20 boards on a beach with no waves. the skill it takes to actually judge the waves, hit them just right, and ride themback, not to mention shove-its and 360s is actually remarkable. and then working finesse into the routine is just that much harder. i'm guessing "easy" for you is hopping on the board and not falling?

@felipeguy12345 just like you would on a skateboard/ snowboard, you just lean and shift your weight. if you can't do it, it's probably not your technique, it's all about getting to the wave at the right time.

yes it is. You wont get far but look for the perfect shore break and you'll get at least a wrap around. They do it all the time in the Philippines

Looks like Sandy Beach on Oahu....great skim spot, but you have to deal with bodyboarders and locals who can spot a tourist from miles.

i learned how to skimbord from some pro dude from Maui, he was gettin hecka air off waves n stuff, n he used a buggyboard...mainly cuz we wernt allowed to be skimboarding on that beach...they had the no skimboarding flag up
