WOW..... ok... im an Arab... and have Always Loved Belly Dancing... and was Facinated by the Japanese Culture, especially the Gaisha... now i love both more... :D Proud of my Arab Culture, and wish i had Japanese Blood
@Kikilightheart Fair enough. But for me it seems not the way I would like to express myself through dance. I like guaguanco and rumba better for my own personal expression, but I love watching good belly dancers. Thanks for the heads up though.
Just because you're bellydancing with fans doesn't make it "Japanese fusion". I had hoped to see at least *some* influence from traditional/classical Japanese dance besides the use of props. :(
Wow, this fusion is really interesting! The music is awesome - i know the first one, but what is the second. Is it also Yoshida broth? I apologize for asking, coz I know dancers do not like to give away their music.... but if you can tell who is the artist, I would be grateful ;)))) thanks in advance ;)))
Her posture and arms are what really take away from the preformance. Her back is straight and rigid like a ballerina's when it should be relaxed and curved (difficult for me to describe it any different). In belly dancing, your arms frame your body and if they're stiff, it kills the presentation and makes you look unnatural. Overall there wasn't enough Japanese, but you could see the effort she put it in and that deserves props!
The song is by the Yoshida Brothers. When I first heard their music I pictured bellydancing. Then I get into bellydancing and see people BELLYDANCING to their music! XD
I love music, I find this idea new and awesome but the dancer has to improve her bellydance, sorry. I want to see thi performance in a better bellydancer performance

I would also love to know whose music this is.
Shame musicians never seem to get credit for THEIR work.

I agree that she needs to improve her bellydancing, and I found there's not enough fusion with japanese style
