As an Asian, I never really understood why the gave the Elves an "oriental" fighting style and the Dunedain an European fighting style. The reason is that it was the Elves who first taught men how to fight with swords, shields, bows and arrows, etc. For instance, Gandalf's sword once belonged to an elven king (Elrond's paternal grandfather).

@chrysta77 I own all the special extended DVD box-set editions of all three movies which essentially contains two extra discs full of special features which you would not find on the original cinematic DVD releases This include: translating LOTR from book to script ( disc1) and making the script into a movie( disc 2) There are hours upon hours of extra footage and deleted scenes that didn't make it into the original so I would definitely recommend them if you're a fan :)

orlando is a pretty good actor..but viggo is soooo much better than him in lotr cuz orli had a small part. And in his small lines orlando wanted it to be really good so some of the lines were over acted.

i second that..i'm female, and personally, just don't find orlando bloom that attractive (i was rather surprised by the frenzy...the average guy in argenina looks like him, so..???)..but most importantly he's not that good of an actor (leaning towards the mediocre side)..he ruined legolas in my opinion..acting:too forced. Viggo is a great aragorn. Very eloquent acting. Talented actor as well sir Mckellen who does an amazing gandalf.
