Yeah pause it at 1:51 you see it is a clean try, downward pressure hand still on the ball. The only thing you could say is he was luck the corner post was already leaning over or he would of touched it before he put it down
i just noticed, in most of nonus trys, sitiveni sivivatu has usually been there, either making the break or passing it to nonu. mauger sucks, im glad he went
From a Saffa perspective, Nonu can be very effective. Maybe not as skilled as Mauger, but very abrasive and a natural try scorer. Good player, very dangerous on attack.
thats a stupid question 'nonu or mauger' mauger was so useless it made me mad when he was picked over nonu, anyone with half a rugby brain would know that nonu was a more effective TRY SCORER, i used to hate seeing mauger cough up so many tries, u do the math, i wonder how many tries nonu has compared to mauger?
I Prefer nonu hes a big part of our winning game! and we need something against the south africans coz u guys got an amazin 1 to 15. Respect the steyns and du plessis
Yeah, I personally didnt see the French vs New Zealand game but I heard he didnt go so well. Im a Aus fan but I hope he play's more better in next weeks game in nz vs aus, his a good guy.
Hes had a great year, top try scorer in the super14, busting defences up all over the place. Its true he didnt have a great game on Satnight, but he was hardly the worst.
Those honours go to Donald, Tialata, Messam and easiest the worst on the field was undoubtably Isaia Toeava, shocking game.
He was the top try scorer, though this year's S14 failed to impress really. He certainly didn't carve up to get the top try scorer honour. I mean, when you think about Rico Gear's top try scoring year in 05, he was on fire. Ma'a has just been solid for his (and only managed 9, which isn't that amazing)
Messam and Toeava were worse, true. There's no chance I'd say Donald was. More a victim of shit delivery from a forward pack going backwards and a misfiring halfback in Cowan.
Failed to impress? Watch his games vs Canterbury, the stormers and more specifically against the brumbies, he carved up Mortlock, made him his personal lap dancer.
A misfiring halfback is normally due to a misfiring forward pack, which generally filters throughout the whole backline.
I watched all these games. The game against the Stormers I'm inclined to agree with. Against the Brumbies he looked ok, but I can't agree that he outplayed Mortlock that badly.
I can only hope we manage to sort out some issues tomorrow and it really has to start up front. Makes you wonder what happened to hardened, no bullshit forwards when you see the way our boys play. We need some more Kees's, Olo's and Zinny's to set us straight (Hore and Williams are a good start, though injured)
The brumbies game when Nonu broke straight through Mortlocks 1 on 1 tackle, leaving him strewn on the ground, and then set up tamati Ellison for a super try was my favourite moment from this year Super 14.
Regarding the initial statement, he has improved significantly this year, his passing has been probably the biggest improvement, and accurate decision making has also been a large part of his improvement this year.
Enjoy the game tommorrow night, expect a marked improvement from the boys.
Ha yeah it does look suspect. I would have thought he knocked it on. However I think the ref asked 'is there any reason I cannot award a try?" which is not the same as the usual "try/no try". With the former, the TMO needs clear evidence of i think things like offsides or foul play. Not knock ons tho...
no rugga, im not putting down nonu, i think hes a great player , or bigging up my own country but that second try he scored he should of been tackled by paul o'connell but stupidly he was left on even though he couldnt walk after recieving a knock on the knee
No rugga, lets face it if your a professional rugby player , your going to be decent at tackling its more like 9 times out of 10 tackles are made. by your apparent logic, trys would be scored every minute.
that irish try he got was lucky, the mud did all the bloody work. from an Australian perpective living in england. i can safely say England and Ireland are the strongest in the northern hemisphere, and i hope australia gives them a good go, because at the moment both of them are on form and seem to be hungry

dadubs93 2 years ago
Nonu would have fended off o'connell had he attempted the tackle anyway.
9 times out of 10 when a try is scored someone misses a tackle somewhere, so by your logic most trys are lucky?
rugga 2 years ago
No rugga, lets face it if your a professional rugby player , your going to be decent at tackling its more like 9 times out of 10 tackles are made. by your apparent logic, trys would be scored every minute.
dadubs93 2 years ago
Dadubs93, my points obviously gone straight over your head. Of course 9 times out of 10 tackles are made in a game.
Im talking soley about try scoring movements in a game, most tries involve a missed tackle somewhere in that phase of play.
rugga 2 years ago
ah ok mate. dont get me wrong im not putting down the player he seems great.
