I believe it won't last long this way. expecially if the glue has dried out and is years old. The best thing is to remove the old glue and reapply it with a glue gun. there are small inexpensive ones that just will do the trick.
my broken brush has plastic handle. is that means that I wont be able to fix it with your method?I tried superglue on the other brush but it was too much glue and some glue came out of metal part and the brush doesnt look nice now :(
Fabulous tip, thanks !! I have a sigma blush brush that I just now repaired using your blow dryer method....worked like a charm. No more clicking noises from the loose ferrule while applying my blush !!
@DontBeSadBeRadd if the handle, brush head and fibres are plastic they will melt (taklon/synthetic brushes are fine just keep the heat from the brush head)
Ive been thinking about repairing one of my brushes, thought Id just use superglue. Didnt think of this way. I realise this means you dont have to go out and buy anything, superglue, elmers or anything so it is a good idea. Im just a bit worried Id burn the paint as you warned against. Before I decide which way to try I wanted to know if there was any problem with the superglue way? I think that you used the hair dryer for less than a minute? Just checking in case I decide to go that way.
@girlintrouble2 I never use superglue as I can never get the old glue off or our of the ferrule so it doesn't ever seem to fit properly with more glue. If the hair dryer way fails then superglue is the next thing I would consider.
@EllaFlint this is a Max Factor brush, and a present from a dear friend who obviously saw what I didn't and bought be a set of good brushes! I was loathe to let it go which is what prompted this idea!
Genius, pure genius I have one brush in this sad condition and was going to try a cheapo superglue from a packet my mum gave me but now I'm going to go check it their is some glue left on it I can zap with my hair dryer. Thanks so much Jasmine, I've picked up so many tips from you over the last 2 years! Pls keep them coming :-)
This is SO smart... just when I was about to return my elf brush to target, you saved me a trip and the hassle! thank you so much!

@manuki16 I've used it on a brush I've had for about 5 years, it's been sturdy! I agree that if it doesn't work then try new glue! :)
