virginia beach took the hardest hit when 3 floors of the westin hotel collapsed and major sinkholes the caused big sewer and storm drains backing up plus my ceiling fan fell
West coast people really don't know much about the east coast. In the east coast, we normally don't get big earthquakes like this one we had. The last big earthquake we had was in 1897. Us east coast people got a little scared because this was our first experience in a 5.8 magnitude earthquake. So west coast people, you don't know anything about east coast. Really, you don't.
So uhhhh why the fixation with the president? The president in Mass, the white house ... Dude, it's just a political office. Do you think the nation is really effected if a government official is shaken here or there? Really, that's just strange.
lol all the east coast people freaked out over a little earthquake. over her ein ther west coast, ther eare earthquakes everyday... and they arent even that scary.....
@MarathonBeast LOL LA freaked out over a 5.4 not too long ago plus anyone who lives in an area that has a lot of earthquakes knows that while we may have them everyday we don't feel them because they are too small to even be noticed :D An earthquake on the eastcoast is rare at that magnitute while on the west coast it isn't exactly an everyday thing but earthquake usually of a slightly smaller magnitude are.
reason why earth quakes here are worse is cause the lithosphere here is colder which, when crashed upon, makes a stronger shaking, the ones in cali are hotter which are softer, so when there's an earthquake, you can barely feel it unless it's a big one, if a 8.5 hit here, we'd be all fucked, or even a 7.0 or even a 6.5
@jsmitty88 How is a 5.9 different on the east coast? If it was more intense then it would be measured at a higher number. That's like claiming the number 10 is bigger on the east coast. Because of your tectonic formations, an earthquake will be felt in a wider area, but a 5.9 is a 5.9 and a 5.9 will barely damage a typical American building that is right above it, hence the fact that there were no reported injuries. You're more likely to get killed by someone driving through your house.
@jsmitty88 All I read was your comment, and it mentioned nothing about tornados. So what are you trying to say? That we're without hardship or that everything outside of California is just "harder"?
@skankishaable September 10–September 11, 1976: Hurricane Kathleen crossed the peninsula of Baja California moved into California as a tropical storm. Yuma, Arizona reported sustained winds of 91 km/h (57 mph). Rains from Kathleen caused catastrophic damage to Ocotillo, California and killed three to six people.
@thefinalfrontier1701 I said hurricane not a tropical storm. That tropical storm is like the tremble on the east coast and earthquakes on the west coast are just as dangerous as at least a category 1 hurricane on the east.
@StevenShields29 I felt it in Delaware (about 150 miles from the epicenter) and stuff fell off my wall and plates broke. but its probably because our ground isn't used to earthquakes
@StevenShields29 it was really scary because before that I was in a 5.3 but I was really little so I don't really know what happend but with this one it knocked me off my feet it was really strong even my dog went crazy like a minute before the quake. I couldn't imagine living in ca like you.
Bfh player; it's a fucking EARTHQUAKE shut the fuck up Jesus, no different from any other so quit acting like a hard ass and quit making up stories to be better than everyone else
You are the only one saying false things. Their facts are fine. You are the one posting about how big this earthquake wasn't. You seem to be the only one concerned with that fact. Your brother experienced some nasty things in haiti and that's cool but, your making yourselve more and more ignorant with each comment. And. P.s. learn to fucking spell
@snackguy101 You a dumb-ass? this was on the east coast. a 5.9 earthquake hasn't happened here since 1897. there were couple of other earthquakes in 2003 but they weren't as strong. the east coast never has big earthquakes. the earthquake happened in VA and i live in VA. everything shook some stuff even fell of my shelves and stuff. this is the first time i ever experienced an earthquake. yeah ofc haiti has alot of earthquakes. dont get me wrong. just gets your facts straight then come and post
@bfhplayer1000 wtf all i said was it was a pussy quak if u saw haiti u wtf is all this other shit about earthquakes on the eaast coast i didnt say anything bout it my bro was n a church n the fucking side of the building fell off into peaces n ur telling me it was so big cause ur shelves fell off no sir u might wana get ur argument straight coze i compared that earthquake to haiti not the history of the east coast
@fishcrazy104 you know wat im sorry i just think u misunderstood me i just ment that haitis was much more serous and that on the east coast everything seemed to be alright and just startle everyone.
@snackguy101 Do you get it or not? is your mind that small? are you really that stupid? if haiti gets an earthquake yeah ok it's normal. but if the east coast gets in an earthquake it isnt normal haiti is suppose to get alot of earthquakes from where it's located. but they are the poorest country in the world. so they cant afford to make stronger houses. yeah ok devisating news haiti got hit with another earthquake. bigger news East caost got a major earthquake, last MAJOR earthquake was 1879.
was this in Portsmouth,VA??
