I always end up just sitting there and doing whatever I want in math class, never listening to my teacher. Then I watch these YouTube lectures and I ace all the tests. :D
Thank you so much! my cal 1 teacher is a physicist from Africa with horrible handwriting and thick accent. Your videos are clearing everything up for me. Getting my BA from Youtube. lol
Thanks for the upload my calc teacher sort of breezed through this section and I didn't really know which numbers were "critical numbers" or not. Now I do.
@RescuePits1 pretend like the parenthesis aren't there, (16 - x^2) - x^2 is the same as 16 - x^2 - x^2 because there is no multiplying, only subtracting.
Hi, would you please explain for me this problem: (a) find the critical numbers of f(x) = x^2/3 (x-5); (b) find the critical numbers (x-1)^3(x+3). I'd really appreciate your explanation. :D
Well i have a 64 right now in calculus after the first three weeks and i can't drop it.... time to see if everyone is right in saying you're a genius and can help everyone. I hope they're right! So far vids are actually helpful :)
man this got real confusing i will have 2 watch over 4 times but great work your really really doing the college kids, a big favor, most colleges professors are from different countries this is straight-forward and it works!!
Seriously man, these videos are so great and such a great help, you are saving my butt now that I'm doing Physics w/calc and dont remember everything!!
@MetalDraciel No, the product rule is the (derivative of the first term times the second term) added to (the first term times the derivative of the second term).
thanks for the awesome videos as usual. very clear and informative.
one thing i would like to point out though: in the last 3 seconds, you mention the critical numbers to be "positive or negative SQUARE ROOT of four". the square root shouldn't be there. just wanted to point that out so that others might not get confused by it.
lol of course I replayed it but he didnt describe how he got it. Though I figured it out I accidentally multiplied the answers than subtracting it. ( when he seperates the bases with the extra stuff)
I´m 15 years old and this is verry helpfull in calc!!!!!!!!!!!

@Vtgreen24 yes, it must be the left hand, not the thousands of hours of studying.

at 1:53 how did you cancel out a 1/2 and a 2???
RaisinBagels 7 months ago
@RaisinBagels 2 times a half is equal to 1. multiplying by 1 doesn't really do anything so you cancel out the 1 half and the 2.

Are the endpoints of a function on a closed/ open interval considered critical points? I need to know this for my AP test on Wednesday
