  • Two yrs ago on Dec 3, I buried my Mom so needless to say I was very much going thrue the grieving process...God and this very song, which I listened to over & over and sang to my self is what got me thrue it...Thank you Madeleine.

  • reminds me of what my daughter said, "act as if".

  • She's honestly the most beautiful woman iv'e ever seen. And heard.

  • Amazing how powerful, real, and heartfelt music brings almost only positive comments. Visit a video with one of today's "popular" artists... Everyone is just so mad at each other. It's refreshing to see all positive comments while I listen to such a lovely song :)

  • LOVE IT!

  • Lovely.TY i.c. for posting.

  • 15 and lovin jazz:) wow i feel pretty mature for my age:)

  • thank you for this song... it helped me to go through so much. thank you

  • So beautiful :*)

  • This is not a muted trumpet. It sounds like great jazz trumpet player Jack Sheldon, or some one imitating his style. Also, Madeleine does sound a lot like Billy Holiday. Check out Jack Sheldon's web site if you want to hear the real deal. There's a great documentary on him "Trying To Get Good-the Jazz Odyssey of Jack Sheldon." I'm a great fan of Madeleine and this music too, but be aware that this is a throwback imitation of what has gone before.

  • I love your description! The music is like that indeed. Beautiful.

  • I have a huge paper due 2mara but listening to this song makes me feel relaxed and calm even though I'm pretty sure I'll fail

  • This song soothes me well :]

    Long Live Jazz <3

  • Chaplin and Peyroux... how could one go wrong?

  • Oh I love her voice so much... sounds like a cotton candy on a sunlight rainy day indeed....

  • Charlie Chaplin composed this wonderful song. Look up his life story. It will break your heart.

  • love her voice!

  • I only listen to a few female artsits, corrine bailey ray, Nora Jones and Her

  • Too bad about the embed disable...You'd think this kid would want to get her name around. Whatever........... I like her band, she's good.

  • @conmaesta Remember Madeleine that you are the driver however you have a vehicle (your band) which just cooks. Without that band you are pretty average Non??

  • Nice voice and inspiring but I have got to say I love this band, everyone of them, and the musical arrangement... Super. My kinda music, real, no sweetening sessions

  • I really like the trumpet number.

  • What a beautiful song. She truly has a talent.

  • Magnifique!

  • i love this rendition

  • GENIAL !

  • This is gorgeous .... so beautiful.

  • How many Billie Holiday records did she listen to before developing her style. It's obvious to anyone with half an ear who one of her greatest influences was. Although she still has her own unique characteristics. I'd love to see you live Ms. Madeleine Peyroux. Come to Jazz Alley in Seattle!

  • Do a lot of well-known musicians come through Jazz Alley? I'm curious because i live near and have been wanting to sit in on a good jazz session.

  • As per Wikipedia:

"Peyroux has cited Billie Holiday, Bessie Smith, Patsy Cline, Édith Piaf, Leonard Cohen, Johnny Mercer, Charlie Chaplin, Serge Gainsbourg and Bob Dylan as influences on her music."

  • she'll be there in april!

  • i'm smiling

  • Make me smile now

  • almost as good as billie

  • Blimey! she sounds like BILLY HOLIDAY! anyone else agree?

  • Very nice. I like this...a lot!!!

  • Charlie Chaplin.

  • i am 17yr old girl and a jazz lover and proud!

glad to have found her music <333

  • aww, bless your heart.

    it's a beautiful song indeed. ;-)

  • Amen to that! I'm 16 lol

  • @stawbewii Haha, I'm a 17 year old guy and I feel the same.

  • @stawbewii hey strawberry if you're 17 and love jazz you should be proud...You're ahead of the game musically baby...Keep listening and get playing baby...

  • i am in LOVE with this. cotton candy on a sunlit rainy day indeed. it's just so...eloquent :)

  • Sounds good, but she is trying so hard that there is no real life in this music.

  • i agree, she's a very talented lady... but the meaning of the song is a bit lost - as if she is only singing the words rather than feeling them...

  • fantastic voice, and the lyrics has important meaning! i love it ;)

  • I love her voice, it's beautiful.

    :)

  • The trumpet player sounds like it could be Till Bronner. Does anyone know for sure?

  • Yes, it is Till Bronner. There's something about a muted trumpet. It compliments this song very well.

Any song for that matter. ;-)

  • Haha great, I thought so. I don't know anyone else that can manipulate their sound to be so smooth and "airy" like he can. He's an amazing musician.

  • i totally agree

  • @iluvlycheenuts I'm a trumpeter and i'm pretty sure that he's not playing with a mute on this one. what you're hearing is someone with amazing breath-control and a strong set of chops who is playing in a very quite, very airy, breathy way. this takes incredible control. it's harder to play quietly than to play loudly. much more exposed, much more intimate and vulnerable. damn sexy is what this is.

  • @brotherrog I don't play any music instruments. So, I won't disagree that it's not a muted trumpet -- as in there's no brass cup? Amazing breath control...no doubt..the entire song is refreshing-clean-crisp...

Thanks for the nice input. :-)

  • Rich contrast, the steady beat and the velvety voice...

  • love it, love it love it love it

  • Nice,fantastic....

  • fantastic...
