We must take the proper sequence of steps to colonize Space. We need to develop better robotics with some AI. Wall-Es must develop the Moon before we attempt to live there.
I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion and interests but i never understood the people that say they have absolutely no interesting in space whatsoever. Space is the future, and i hope we continue to focus on developing new forms of space travel.
@jffugly It may be the future but perhaps we should try to make things on Earth a little bit better before we go out in space? In the present millions of people die of hunger in Africa. Humans are like cancer, we spread and destroy everything on our path as we go, I don't think we should go anywhere until we have fixed things here on Earth and started thinking like sentient beings should.
@jorsik I have to respectfully disagree. NASA, the multi-national International Space Station project, and scientific research in general have done so much to unite people from around the world from all backgrounds - and it'll be through a united front that we're able to cure the problems you mention. Furthermore NASA's big missions like Apollo and the ISS have inspired millions (myself included) to become scientists - and it's scientists who will be able to cure caner and disease.
@TheElitewiz Europe is responsible for the Ariane series of rockets. and a company in the UK makes the majority of the components that go into its chemical propulsion rocket.
So its not just NASA and Russia that launch rockets, The Brits launch rockets as well, and you ought to be proud of your own countries accomplishments, 'Cause i'm american and the ESA has a lot of respect in my books. Without them the International Space Station wouldn't be possible.
The water actually acoustically insulates the engines while its sitting, if that water wasn't there the physical pressures of the sound waves would destroy the engine and nozzles in a few seconds!
@3fin3skab Not necessarily true...the space shuttle main engines exhaust steam as they burn only hydrogren and oxygen...but the solid rocket boosters exhaust lots of nasty things including hydrochloric acid!
I never saw a shuttle launch, but months after my KSC/AF base visit it still blows me away that I've been at these iconic sites: 39A & various other pads, in the VAB with Discovery, at the AF station's launch control and the room housing the booster stages for the Mars mission, and that I watched an unmanned launch from the press site. Getting to hang out there would never get old.
thanks for the music because I wasn't sure how to feel about these images. now I know that I should be fascinated and yet somehow at the same time just a little sad too. JUST LET US HEAR THE DAMN ROCKET!!!
I can understand wanting to hear the sound of this magnificent beast roaring off the pad. If you have a really good speaker setup with a sub and aren't shy about turning it up really loud then check out my humble attempt. I made a Shuttle launch video that I hope captures the SSME and SRB thrust (no music) that will rumble your house. Please give it a try - I'm pretty happy with how it came out: watch?v=OnoNITE-CLc
waw that would be a dream come true to go out in space ^^
The creators of the space ship must of been happy when they finished making the space plane thingy that goes out in space like that lol i would love to make an idea of a space ship an actualy build it and go somewere far in space to see other planets and creatures like us O_O imagine that!!!! hahah well i can think of making plans but its a shame no one gets to build them like these guys did
this is a great video is amazing

Why people do not appreciate the silence, and the real sound of this wonderful machine? Is it necesary to put a background music to everything?
