@beerkat88 I play tuba, I dont really know the exact weight of a tuba, but I play a tuba slightly bigger. To tuba players they dont weight that much because we're used to playing standing up. Id say the tuba there weights about 20-30 lbs. Its not as bad as you think though.

EXQUISITA MUSICA BOLERO MARAVILLOSO ORQUESTA IMPRESIONANTE LO ESCUCHE UNA VEZ EN VIVO EN GUANAJUATO CON ORQUEST FILARMONICA DE LA CIUDAD DE MEXICO Y ME EMBELESO, TOCARON MI CORAZON Y EXTASIARON MI SER
@Marelox The women are not dressed like Disney Princesses - this is formal attire to make a good impression and set a standard - would you prefer that they dress in tight cone shaped bras and lingerie typical of your generation? Notice how they don't grab their crotch either - this is called a professional performance. Notice how the men are dressed, too. Think, my dear!!!! The world is not a Disney movie!!! Life is not a fairytale!!
I just made a fun comment. They do look like princesses! I didn't say it was ugly. Nor I compared it to any of those things you did. Y-O-U D-I-D. That came from inside you, think about it.
If I didn't like the classics I wouldn't have even stumbled here. I SEARCHED for this music. I love it since I was a kid. So think twice before judging so hard and making so many assumptions about someone. "That's not typical of your generation". Geez.
@127Never Madam, it takes a special kind of bitch to say that life is not a fairytale in response to what is essentially music swept away from another place and another time. Perhaps you should actually listen to the music. Ironically, it's probably the only thing powerful enough to put a smile on that most sour of pusses.
@farah73 no... they are probably not! Because I love Metal - but I also love classical music and really every kind of music. If I don't like something I still appreciate the artist and his work... That statement was just not fair... sorry!
well they "probably" are, Right? :) you said that you appreciate every kind of music. So i would guess that you didn't "dislike" the video. Usually people who would "dislike" or in other words "hate" this kind of music are people who listen to Techno music or heavy-metal."Not all head bangers would dislike this video, but all who dislike this video are head bangers". the last statement was just an example. I was joking anyway, i didn't expect someone to even comment on it :)
:) i understand that, it started with a silly comment that i wrote and someone replied to it, and then i replied back etc... thumbs up to you for liking Bolero
@farah73 You know, fans of heavy metal tend to be far more tolerant of other genres, especially classical music. You'll find more classical influence in heavy metal than any other current pop music.
It constitutes an experiment in a very special and limited direction, and should not be suspected of aiming at achieving anything different from, or anything more than, it actually does achieve. Before its first performance, I issued a warning to the effect that what I had written was a piece lasting seventeen minutes and consisting wholly of "orchestral tissue without music" -Ravel's own words.
how can people like this? I don't know why people can listen to Ravel's other stuff and call this beautiful. This is repetitive, and boring. oh yeah, and it never ends
@jszil0306 So what kind of music do you recommend??... Fuck off dude you're just a sad troll and if u dont like this song dont come to comment here... obviusly people like this song
listen to the Ravel string quartet. Or his piano concerto. All i'm saying is i don't understand why people all over know Ravel for his Bolero, when it is totally inferior to his other works. People who actually know Ravel, who know most of his works, will agree that Bolero is not what he should be famous for.
@jszil0306 dumbass,if you listen to closely enough you will notice IT IS NOT a repetition, 'cause the instruments never play EXACTLY the same line,it's always a bit different, subtle changes-but i guess you have to LISTEN so you could hear.dumbass.
Es una cosa impresionante el acompasamiento y los tiempos,es sencillamente espectacular la forma de tocar ,se siente uno en egipto en los tiempos de los faraones.
@bunk2243 quite your bitchin. My dad BLARES this song on our stereo when he's drunk . at home. and we have a hell of a stereo. it's ear defining at 70 and he turns it to 100 ... plus , it's a good song.
@pliuski É verdade. É um autêntico sonho esta música que nos transporta para outra dimensão. Que bela obra de arte! Além do mais sempre considerei esta música bastante relaxante e apaziguadora.
@MelancholyWhisper Don't knock it until you've tried it. It's a well done show. And yes, saying you're adult enough to eschew stupid ideas of societal norms is cool. Because the opposite of open-minded is closed-minded.
@MelancholyWhisper I've always enjoyed classical music. Bolero was never one of my favorites but the mere fact that the creators of the show were savvy enough to include a snippet as background music is evidence of the show's polish. No child is going to understand classical music or references to Sondheim, but through the parents, these examples might foster an increasing awareness of a limited and "uncool" genre.
@MelancholyWhisper So yes. Through force of pop culture awareness and popularity, ponies make their references cooler. There's even a Big Lebowski shout out.
@pmcollectorboy I've tried the show. Don't care much for it at all, at this point it's a bit over-hyped. The fact that all of you "bronies" watch the show and associate yourselves as a collective isn't fighting the societal norms at all, you realize.
And it's the suggestion that Bolero stopped being the fantastic piece it was for a period of time, then suddenly became "cool" again because of a show is what irritated me.
@MelancholyWhisper We're not a collective, but it is a fight against preconceptions. There are people out there actively hating us and considering us deviant and evil based on the idea that what we're watching is a girl's show and even if it was, that is a bad thing. There's also no need for quotation marks. It makes your words sound condescending.
@pmcollectorboy Even if we are talking about popularity-wise, MLP has done nothing for Bolero. Bolero has been a well-known piece for quite some time and has always been an amazing piece. The notion that it needed MLP to make it "cool", make it better, make it more popular, or anything of the sort is just wrong.
@MelancholyWhisper Well you should also realize I was being facetious. It's neither right nor wrong. Bolero was never one of my favorite pieces, but it still made me smile hearing it because here is this piece of pop culture trying inject a higher music form into it and I saw it as evidence that this show is neither for kids nor girls. I also don't think the show is overhyped. If anything it hasn't done its job as witnessed people actively hating us.
@MelancholyWhisper And no. I wasn't suggesting the show made Bolero better. It's still a dodgy piece, IMO. But despite what you may think, classical music is never cool, at least not with the kids, but the inclusion is a step towards awareness and should say something about those who truly enjoy the show. If classical is your thing that's okay by me. It's my thing too. But I wasn't trying to be an irritant, and think the point of my post went over your head.
I am so pleased to see the smiling faces of the musicians as they play and watch Rieu intently, when I let my soul wander the heavens, this will be part of the sound track...Masterful performance, a caliber unseen in todays' electronic world, Bravo, BRAVO!
