Just since there's a lot of confusion over his cameo, here's the beans:
Vincent ONLY appears in Persona 3 Portable, not in the PS2 Versions. Since both games were made from the same team, they probably put him into Persona 3 Portable just to foreshadow his story. Catherine was already in late conception phase when P3P was finished up, so his character didn't influence a whole game, but was more a late add in to foreshadow Catherine.
WHAT O_O?! Catherine wasn't even out yet when they made this and he's actually in this? That means that Catherine takes place in Japan and the strange things happening in that game are caused by shadows. When I saw the first trailer for Catherine I was hoping for something along the lines of Persona or any other Shin Megami Tensei games. Yes, Japan is full of English text, but it's also full of Japanese text, which the game does not have. The localization crew didn't change the cutscenes so all the stuff was in English, it was actually originally like that, except for the voices. I'm sorry, but "the game was made in Japan by Japanese people" does not automatically mean it's "set in Japan". Is MGS set in Japan?

The only thing I base my opinion off of is the fact that Johnny and Vincent both drink sake and I don't know many American bars that offer sake. Also, the layout of Vincent's apartment is very Japanese IMO. If you watch closely, he does the whole taking off of his shoes at the door which isn't an American custom.

It's actually funny that I remembered this guy when I first started Catherine. I was like "wait, haven't I seen this guy before?". As the game went on, more parts of the story sounded familiar (pregnancy, bottom of the dreams). Then, it just hit me like a brick. I played P3P again, and got here. Bricks were shat.

@AngelDrive9 If you're talking about Catherine and heard about True ending... well... there are 8 endings in total. 3 Endings for each girl: True ending, Good ending and Bad ending. The remaining two is called Freedom ending, you have the True and Good ending for that. The ending depends on your text messages, how you act with people and your karmic meter.(you get freedom ending when you're Karma is pointed at the middle)

@jessxsucks They've stated that they're working on persona 5. It's been out there for a few years now, and they also stated that the game wouldn't be revealed until Catherine had been completed and localized. Don't worry, guy. There will be a persona 5

@XbOxUsEr12 that doesn't mean anything. Hypothetically, if it was uploaded last week, by your logic, it came out last week. Anyway, I did some research. This game came out in 2009 originally, and Catherine came out last year, which makes it incredible foreshadowing on Team Persona's part.

@AngelDrive9 If you're talking about Catherine and heard about True ending... well... there are 8 endings in total. 3 Endings for each girl: True ending, Good ending and Bad ending. The remaining two is called Freedom ending, you have the True and Good ending for that. The ending depends on your text messages, how you act with people and your karmic meter.(you get freedom ending when you're Karma is pointed at the middle)

After panicking to take it off, Erica would walk buy and ask why he had a fake mole drawn on his face and Orlando would make fun of him for the rest of the night.
Or so I imagine XD What if Catherine saw it? XD

@ZealotZeke Actually, the man in the bar has pretty much the same dialogue, the only thing they added for P3P is his picture and the little bit at the end *If I ever see you again, I'll tell you more of my story* and everything after it. So technically, they may have had an idea about Catherine during the making of Persona 3. Though, that's only my speculation. Can't say for certain what Atlas had planned back then XD
