  • This isn't an obvious choice, but it does make sense. The timbre is bright and the attack is percussive enough that the effect is similar to a harpsichord.

  • fanfuckingtastic. Wasn't aware that people could still write anymore.

  • thats insane man.

  • Hi. Wow, you are a great banjo player. Do you play in any bands? How old are you playing this?

  • Hey, you should try Paganini: Moto Perpetuo (Bluegrass version). That's one of my favorites from Perpetual Motion.

  • No I don't play in a band...and I'm 24, as pictured in the video.

    Moto Perpetuo? haha....right.

    Thanks for watching!

  • far out

  • good job!

  • Wow, you sure are into the Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, huh. Maybe someday you'll play along with them. Banjo is the best!

  • Where can I find tabs for the perpetual motion CD?

  • are you purposely playing a duet with the cellist in teh other room? b/c it is rather distracting, i'm not sure if those particular instruments "mesh" well-- she is overpowering you and has an odd echo effect -- maybe she's in a room with no furniture? perhaps you should just perform this one by yourself or with another banjo player as skilled as you-- good luck finding one!

  • The song was performed by Bela Fleck- banjo and Edgar Meyer- Bass. Obviously each person is playing only half the song. I recorded it my own, but it left a lot to be desired. My options were to find a bass/cello player, or record along with the CD. So the background you hear is the professionals, with me trying to play exactly in synch with the banjo so that all you hear is me and the bass. When I recorded the CD, I was able to manipulate the audio a lot better and it sounds almost seamless.

  • truly excellent job! keep up the good work! bela inspired me to buy a banjo 6 years ago and I haven't put it down since.

  • Great to hear. Thanks for listening!

  • Can you please do the song The wind that shakes the Barley? The whole Perpetual Motion CD is incrediable. Great Job
