Nope, actually in my shitty state of california, you cant have a hedgehog or a ferret, due to hippies that believe hedgehogs will overrun nature or some BS
hi could u tell me how much african pygmies cost cause i might buy one soon, i am from michigan so it is legal, also can hedgies sleep in cages or can they sleep in shoeboxes or large litterboxes?
TheKillerSammich- His quills all point in one direction, so if you pet him in one direction you wont get poked. When he is mad or frustrated, he tenses up and his quills crisscross. Still, unless the hedgehog "pops", or jumps upward when his quills are up, you probably wont get poked. Also, just an FYI, hedghogs can't "shoot" their quills out. But, when they are young, they shed their baby quills. Yeah, stepping on one hurts :[!
Where are you from? I'm from England and i've never seen a pet hedgehog anywhere, Im pretty convinced i want one after watching quite alot of videos and information ive taken, Is there a website you could recommend telling me about how to keep one? Or if you are from England can you tell me where you found yours? Thanks.
Dumplingsarethebest- This is not hedgehog abuse. Toby LOVEs running on his wheel. Normally, he would climb onto the wheel himself, but to save time on the video I put him on myself. Also, I feed him food around the time I made the video, so I wasn't forcing it upon him. He took the food from my hand. Also, a playpen made out of a kiddy pool is often used by hedgehog owners. He likes the smooth texture on his feet. So this is not hedgehog abuse.
They have been know to run about 5 miles a night hardly abuse she didnt force him to run either she simply placed him on the wheel she also didnt force him to eat. Very nice looking hog by the way xxDCS
I agree that she did not force him to eat, but she did not simply place the hedgehog in to the wheel. In the top left corner you can see her hand nudging the wheel to spine so that the hedgehog would have to run.
This video is a few years old. Toby has lost weight since.

Pazacur- Hedgies cost about $100-250. Also, they need a very large cage with a wire top and solid bottom.

bitterend21-
Yes, I did spin the wheel so he would run, but I was only doing it for the video. I wanted to show how he ran. I normally wouldn't do that though.

AliB333- Oh, you can't have hedgies in Australia? That stinks.
Haha, the hedgehog from open season! I never thought of that!
