  • "Well cut me loose!"

  • I would name the black girl "Coalilocks" than "Goldilocks".

  • Comment removed

  • Well shut my mouth and call me Pappy

Goldilocks you show is fine an Dandy!

Goldilocks is Fine as Hell thank goodness for one good lookin chick. Also yea I knw it's raciest but it sure is funny as hell, only thing wrong is the lips

  • This isn't bad really. If it wasn't for the exaggerated lips it might not have been banned.

The music is good and the way they chase off the wolf is funny.

  • They Dont go to school!!!!! Lazy Negro!!! All they do is Jive and eat!!!!!

  • This isn't racist, it's funny!

  • I am a proud black brother, and while I clearly see the racism in this I have to say this is hilarious

  • WTF they should have made the wolf white, the black man is represented fully here stupid and ugly as an old boot, but the black woman ,the real object of his sick twisted sexual desire is hot as fish grease . Riiiiight.

  • I dont find this to be rasict and im black

  • Loved watching Grandma jitterbug! As an "African American", I realize that this is a cartoon. It's meant to mock stereotypes (which are based on perceived images). What I find racist in today's media is the image of all blacks (especially those born in the USA and Jamaica) as being "gangsta". Networks such as BET perpetuate this type of racist propaganda.

  • Black women are so energetic!

  • Coal Black as Goldilocks lol

  • @KnowYourReps

I am an african american man and I have no problem with these cartoons, in fact I find them hilarious. I am capable of recognizing these cartoons as caricatures rather than the artist's actual view of africans; Why doesn't anyone cry foul when countless black comedians viciously mock white people?

  • @lovingthefrogs I Concur. This is xenophobic towards blacks of the 1940s not blatant racism. I love this cartoon and I'm BLACK.

  • man, why the bears have to look so stupid? But at least Goldilocks looks good....

  • "Say who is you, u aint the 3 ol' bears"

  • oh lawdy how this made me laugh

  • if this weren't so fuckin racist i enjoy it

  • Goldilocks has a sexy voice.

  • You know, it's really amazing thatmost of these cartoons were meant to be somewhat groundbreaking but partially relied to stereotypical behavior, leading to them being banned. I ultimately agree with their decision, but I'm glad it's more accessible now. Not only do I think this cartoon was entertaining, but I ultimately think that it's much better to show our past mistakes than pretend like they never exist.

  • I actually think this is a pretty cool tribute to the black jazz music of the time and the contributions made to popular music from the likes of folks like Fats Waller.

  • After thsi and Chuck's three bears, Freleng did his own for hsi first DFE enterprises special, with Bing Crosby, Mary Francis Crosby, Paul Winchell and Avery Schreiber doing voices.April 7, 1970.

  • nice spin on the story. Goldilocks is miiiighty fiiiine mhmm........loved how she wore out the wolf with her dancin.

Yes the animation on the characters and the exaggerations on the facial features are offensive. But it`s still entertaining.

  • Wow she's actually quite attractive!

  • Rasista pero ingenioso y gracioso

No se me hace del todo ofencivo

  • im not offended at all...many of the creator of the censored 11 say they didnt mean any harm anyway.

  • I'm not here to bask in the racism presented here, but when I see the word "censored," I have to look, just to see what's beyond the curtain. This is a product of its time, certainly, and I cringe at the parts that fall below today's more enlightened moral standards; but, as the saying goes: "Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it."

  • Oh lawdy, Goldilocks be smokin tho

  • Amazing! The Jivin' Bears sit down to play. And what do they play? Some hot uptown Harlem jam? NO! Raymond Scott's "Twilight in Turkey"....

  • They iz Crazy!!!!

  • It's really not that bad... could be worse. I've seen worse portrayals of whites in cartoons.

  • they had stripper heels back then? ( the one's on goldilocks)

  • Director: I .Freleng

  • I don't know about all you guys, but I just thought they were fucking BEARS when I was a kid. Christ..

  • Well kill me dead *bam* LMAO i almost just fell off my chair!

  • Don't go into bad neighbourhoods, black people will force you to dance.

  • Where is that one person who claim to be black and not offended that all the racist ass crackers give thumbs up too?

  • @freelancepimp right here

  • I like how the main women in some of these 'racist' cartoons are all hot. See white guys like us. They just don't always admit it XD

  • @YuiYamana Ha! I notice that. Every time.

  • JITTERBUGS

  • Omfg i love this movie best shit i layed my eyes on how could you fucking ban thisa

  • I don't think Godilocks looks like a racial stereotype. It's only the other characters that are

  • hallo,Schööne Viideos Gruß CANO :)

    *•.*´¨`*• Dankeschööön. •*´¨`*•*´¨`*•.•*´¨`*•*´¨`*• Thanks.•*´¨`*••

  • Can't see the racism? The "lazy Negro", the fact that the bears "haven't been to school," the misspelling of "riveter" to show stupidity, the racist imitation of black dialogue --"oh lawdy"-- the character design with gigantic lips, the exaggerated "black" voices,RR Hood's pickaninny hair , Steppin Fetchit's clone delivering the telegram? You mean besides all that? If you aren't a member of the group portrayed, you have no business weighing in as to your decision about the racist content.

  • @KnowYourReps Uh, no,I dont see the racism, just the realism.

  • @BringDaAmberLamps are those section 8 houses that the nigg, I mean bears living in?

  • @KnowYourReps

    1. Look at the time period. Not a lot of blacks had the money to be educated, however the cartoon says they have musical talent regardless.

    2. "Rivetater" was for a rhyme.

    3. How is imitation of dialect racist? If that's the case, all media is racist because Americans have a different English accent than the British.

Stereotyping =/= racism. Caricatures depend on exaggeration of prominent features. That's how that art style is, and it's funny. Stop reacting and think.

  • @Kiithknight if you really believe that then there is definitely something wrong with you. And if you didn't know the media promotes racism and most other things that support ignorance to keep the population uneducated in social matters and just plain stupid.

  • @rell5401

Right, this cartoon was clearly made with the utmost hatred for blacks. A cartoonist would never make fun of anything unless they hate it.

OH wait, cartoons make fun of EVERYTHING. BY DEFINITION.

  • @TheShoeOfMattie Yeah thats true, thank you for opening my eyes. I never thought of it that way, in fact I never heard anything that made more sense.

    *SARCASTIC COMMENT IN ALL CAPS*

  • @Kiithknight

Stereotypes based on race AREN'T racist?? Since when? SMH

  • @niknikky

Since never because racism and stereotype are not synonymous.

Stereotype - "a standardized mental picture that is held in common by members of a group and that represents an oversimplified opinion, prejudiced attitude, or uncritical judgment"

Racism - "a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race"

If no race claims superiority, it's not racist.

  • @niknikky

For example, "Black people have big lips" is not racist. It's a stereotype based on an oversimplification of genetic predisposition. Saying x is y is not racist unless you say z is better.

Not racist: "Black people are lazy."

Racist: "Black people are lazy, so white people are better."

    Not racist: "Asians are smart."

Racist: "Asians are superior to every other race because of their intellect."

There's a HUGE difference between racism and stereotyping. Racism = superiority complex.

  • @niknikky

"racism" implies an inherent prejudice or hate towards a race. That is very different from a simple caricature of a culture.

  • @KnowYourReps Is it a sign of equality when people stop noticing racism, or when people stop making racist comments?

  • @KnowYourReps Actuallly, this isn't as bad as you think. It's quite a celebration of black music of the time. None of the creators of this cartoon had bad intentions.

  • @KnowYourReps While I agree that many facets of these old cartoons are racist stereotypes,I believe a lot of it is blown out of proportion. Steppin Fetchit is depicted as he depicted himself in movies of the time, just as other WB cartoons depicted other popular celebrities of the era.."in caricature". the hairstyle you refer to is not at all out of fashion for the time and, just because the same type of p*$#@**y style was used on stereotyped advertising..it doesn't necessarily make it racist

  • @KnowYourReps cont'd speech imitation and accents are a stretch for being called racist..that would make anyone who ever did a fake British,Australian, etc. accent a racist...I don't believe your contention that only members of a certain race can determine what racist is..some members of the same race have differing opinions so who is right ??..most of the time people choose to be offended..the same way people can choose not to be offended..as a kid I saw people and bears.. not race

  • @KnowYourReps shut the freak up !!!!!!!!!!!

  • @KnowYourReps IT IS STILL FUNNY AS HELL. HA HA HA

  • @KnowYourReps

Stereotypical? Yes. Cartoons are about stereotypes by definition. They're humorous simplifications/exxagerations of real life. ask any cartoonist. Racist? No. There is no malice towards blacks in this cartoon, and many of the voice actors are even black themselves.

  • @KnowYourReps Hey man, the piano dude is just like Snoop Dogg and its amazing

how 60+ years later "Goldilocks" looks and sounds EXACTLY like African American

    girls do NOW.

Y'all are going to have to get over some of this stuff, seriously. People LIKE a lot

of characteristics of black performers, so instead of getting all INSULTED over it,

laugh and appreciate it. My family were all West Virginia hillbillies, who have

been made fun of by Hollywood day without number. FORGET IT!

  • Okay, this is just me, but I fail to see the racism of this, as compared to shows on TV, circa the 21st century. Again, just my opinion.

  • @HnusnaOpice *racial slur* *banal smiley face*

  • we're gonna take a walk in the woods and when we get back our instruments will be all cooled off *othe 2 shake their heads* WELL DATS WAT IT SAY HERE

  • Goldilocks: Say who is you? You aint the 3 ol' bears!

BigBadWolf: You bet I aint honey, but Lordy who cares?

    LOL

  • The bear in the green vest sounds like Louis Armstrong.

  • It was so funny, but still racist. O.o

  • Im surpised that they made Goldilocks actually decent looking and cute.

  • I almost felt sorry for the wolf. lol

  • Anyone else find goldie Locks attractive? lol

  • lol I love these bears

why can't i have a trio of musical bears to follow me round every time I want a dance

  • I actually kinda like this cartoon. I like the narration and alterations in the stories. Yes, there are stereotypes, but its not as bad as it is in some cartoons. In addition, most of the characters (males btw) were animals, so I'm not as offended by this one as I am by other racists cartoons.

However, despite Goldilocks's attractiveness, I dislike her sexual portrayal, as well as the how Red riding hood and Grandma were (since not attractive) portrayed as 'regular caricatures'.

  • @InfiniteRandom Darn it, you took the words right out of my mouth. I have mixed feelings about the race/gender issues as well. Spot on.

  • "We'll take a nice walk thru the woods, and when we get back the instruments will be all cooled off!"

    {Others shake their heads}

"WELL THAT'S WHAT IT SAY HERE!"

  • patriotism...eh?

  • were they so threatend by us that they could not portray us how we really looked

  • Granma: Jitterbug, HEH HEEEEH, Well CUT ME LOOSE!!! lol

  • @Mongo76 Ombriogo, everybody wants to get into the act!

  • @Uncutcartoons247 Ha cha cha cha ... LOL

  • @Mongo76 Jimmy Durante FTW.

  • @Uncutcartoons247 Yeah I know....
