Hey so check this out. The song is called Te Doy Gloria By En Espiritu Y En Verdad. I play for a Spanish church, but I speak little Spanish. Ha, But I wanted to know If I could this effect with this pedal. I have it. Just tell me how to set please. It would be of great. Thank you.
I dialed a mean djent tone in like ten minutes going into my peavey valve king half stack. If you want the eq message me. Just trying to help out my fellow guitar players..
Very nice demo!!! I have a question for you. I have this pedal and was wondering how to switch between the bank settings that I've saved on it without having to bend over and push the bank selector buttons with my finger?? Is there another pedal I can hook up to it that will allow me to switch it with my foot??? Thanks.
No offence intended but if the demo isn't what you were looking for don't troll, just give constructive criticism and saying things like 'LAME' doesn't help.
But anyway thanks for the video and I'm considering buying one of these now.
It seems like the distortion variation button acts like the FAT switch on my Blues Jr. amp.
You should hav enot talked so much and just played, and you didn't give ANY real demo of the distortion tones..LAME. Check out CHATREEO's videos of the Digitack RP500..much better.
hi, I like to play bass, but I'm a real dummy when it comes to pedals and all these technical things. I was trying to do some research on pedals I could get for my bass and this one catches my attention. I remember earlier you said there is no difference between the me 50 and the me 50b, but I've noticed on a few websites that sell instruments and things refer to the me 50B as "boss me 50B bass".Does that mean that the me 50B is actually made specifically for bass and the me 50 for guitar?
I'm considering getting one of these, you mentioned a delay between switching OD/clean etc. Is this just due to you deselecting the OD and then stepping on clean, or does it actually delay activating the effect?
@theoriginalliquid When you switch between pre-saved patches, there is a small delay. This may be something that they've fixed on the newer model (ME-70), but I'm not sure.
Hi- thanks for the video, just wondering though; Can you go from a clean/chorus from the board and then the distortion from another pedal in one stomp?
@Hazpon Well, you can create patches and just switch between them with a single stomp. The only problem is that there is a slight delay (it is noticeable) when you do so. That is one of the major drawbacks of this pedal IMO
Personally, I think this multipart review is excellent. At first glance, this pedal appears to be overwhelmingly complex, but because you break down the functions by each component, the rest of us can follow. Knowing WHY things work is more educational than just blindly tweaking knobs and pressing buttons.

...because the GT6 had a perfect feedbacker. I sold mine a couple years ago and would love to get a used ME50 if it had that same feedbacked...too bad.

You really have to step on the pedal pretty hard to get it to activate. Rock the pedal all the way forward and apply some good pressure. That should activate it.
What a waste of time. A effects demo with absolutely no sound effects. The only thing you can play is a single E string? Come on man. Don't call it a DEMO if its not!!!!
one question? how do you use the compressor?? I mean, when you grab your guitar and play loud with high gain, does it give you like HUM noise or interefefring noises due to the connection and power cables?? try to set a patch with high gain and tell me if you hear any kind of HUM noise ?? thanks
I no longer have this pedal. The Compressor is much different than a Suppressor. The Compressor acts more on your tone to make a tighter or looser sound, so it won't help you much with Hum/Hiss from gain.
I don't recall it having that ability. Instead they just want you to choose from the amp/tone models. You may be interested in the Boss GE-7 Equalizer pedal.
The tuner on my me-50 is off! so yours may be also if you own one!
In order to correctly tune the guitar you want to tune to the SECOND red light to the right of the middle green light. The second red light is true tuning.
everything that owns an audio-output you can record to a comp.
just connect the me-50 output with the pc-input, open your built-in soundcardmixer to adjust the recordlevel, start your recordingprogram and that's it.
hey i got a problem i wish you could help me please after a few minutes when i turn on the Boss ME-50 a letter "b." apears flashing in the screen and it doesnt go away and when i turn it off and then on it appears again
Hey man, for the distortion pedal, if i put the knob on BD-2, is it a preset? or do i use the knobs to modify the sound, so its like switching and having that individual BD2 there
Compared to digital Boss stompboxes (delay, chorus?), maybe. ME-50 is not about getting the hi-fi sounds for analog purists, but it's affordable and it really works. I use it ;-)
Ahh. I used to have one of these, but since I only play at home these days I sold off all my pedals and just use guitar rig these days. The sound is comparable, but I do miss the hands on action.
please respond. if you have other effects pedal and a multi effect how would u set up the chain? would the multi go first and then your regular pedal or what?
That's a great question, and a bit of a tricky one too. It really depends on what the other effect(s) is that you're trying to use along side the multi-effects unit. There is a certain path that the multi unit uses, and putting another pedal before or after could drastically change all aspects of your tone. This is one of the reasons that I have recently started making the shift to building a pedal board with single-effect pedals.
You probably can, but you're going to have to be very selective about what you use on the ME-50 in order to keep the tone of your other pedals. You'll have to shut off the amp modeling, delay won't really help you since your other effects are after (same goes for reverb), etc.
HElp..... i have a fender frontman 212r and i love it but i need more effects, im looking at this and a digitech rp500, send me a message and try to help me with my problom give me your opinions.thanks
To be honest I don't have much experience with the digitech. As far as multi-effects units go, I really only have experience with the Boss ME-50 and the Boss GT-8.
Well, "good" is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone has different expectations of how effects should sound (especially given the wide array of amps and guitars these days). I do believe that the majority of the effects are just as quality as the single stopboxes, you just have a little less control on some of them.
i wonder if you will respond to me, hehe, i am debating over the gt 10 or this baby, i think the me 50 makes more sense because its half the price and it has the effects i want but overall what do you think of the new gt 10? and how to you compare the two, thanks for reading
My friend has the GT-10 (last year's model) and it is very nice. It has a ton of features - so many that it sort of takes a while to get dialed in. For most people, the ME-50 is going to be just about everything you want in a fairly simplistic format. Not to dog on the GT-10, but at times it seems a bit bloated with features and seems to take too much time to get it all right and get a good tone. For the money, I think the ME-50 makes a lot of sense.
Yeah I agree, I tried out a Pod X3 Live, a GT-10 and this model, the others are just filled with too much and have a lot of unnecessary effects and features, I'd go for the ME-50, I did and it just makes alot more sense to go for it.
This guy helped out LOADS, you just need to listen. He didn't ramble, he explaining VERY WELL what this pedal does. There are a fuckton of demo's where the user plays guitar lots, but none of them properly explain what this pedal has to offer.
Can't say I've encountered that issue. Consult your manual and see if that is some sort of indicator. If not, you could try to reset the unit to factory defaults.
ey, i'm from argentina, i can't speak english very well, can you tell me wich is your amp? because I have a boss me-50 and I can't find a nice sound, I have a marshall vs65r
I actually currently play through a Kustom Profile One PA system. I use the onboard amp modeling on the ME-50 to get a decent tone as if I was using a really nice amp. ;-)

Stipetinameso 3 years ago
To switch effect in the middle of the song you can memorize use the memory.
You have 10 bank of memory and every bank have 3 "sub-memory", with a total of 30 effect.
You can select the bank with the selection near the master volume and you can select the sub-memory with the pedal switch.

Yeah man! A unit like that just eats batterys to! invest in the Plug man! lol

you using batterys? mine flashes a b when it runs out of batterys, i got the adapter now tho

Ahh, I bet that is bcolaitdrums' problem. I've always had the AC adapter. $25 for the adapter is a lot cheaper than continually buying batteries. ;-)

hi i just got the boss me 50 and the 6 keeps on flashing at the note/bank how do u get rid of this?
bcolaitdrums 3 years ago
Can't say I've encountered that issue. Consult your manual and see if that is some sort of indicator. If not, you could try to reset the unit to factory defaults.

do u need to connect the effect to a noise gate to reduce hum?
bcolaitdrums 3 years ago
The board includes a Noise Suppressor already, so you can handle it right from there.

ey, i'm from argentina, i can't speak english very well, can you tell me wich is your amp? because I have a boss me-50 and I can't find a nice sound, I have a marshall vs65r
eeuuggee 3 years ago
I actually currently play through a Kustom Profile One PA system. I use the onboard amp modeling on the ME-50 to get a decent tone as if I was using a really nice amp. ;-)

Thanks so much for your really thorough review man! Really helped.I have a question though. Does it keep your guitar and amps tone? Please reply
ledzepplinisthebest 3 years ago
Very welcome. You can surely keep your original tone and add or subtract whatever you want with the effects and tone modeling.
