  • stop talking and play some guitar!!..... don't waste your time, he never play

  • How can i loop in this pedal ?

  • Hey so check this out. The song is called Te Doy Gloria By En Espiritu Y En Verdad. I play for a Spanish church, but I speak little Spanish. Ha, But I wanted to know If I could this effect with this pedal. I have it. Just tell me how to set please. It would be of great. Thank you.

  • does it loop?

  • @EilithyaBand Only for a few seconds (<10). It probably can't be used as a full fledged looper.

  • I dialed a mean djent tone in like ten minutes going into my peavey valve king half stack. If you want the eq message me. Just trying to help out my fellow guitar players..

  • less talkie more playing

  • Does this guy ever play the fucking bastard???????

  • just got one of these from my boy for 40$ its damn hard to get a metal tone but this really helped me thanks man

  • can you help me get a parkway drive tone?

  • can you disable & enable induvidual fx on memory presets? like take dis/od out of a patch & add it back later on that same patch, for example

  • can this be bought in the uk and ireland because i'm finding it very hard to find

  • @m23dio The ME-50 has been discontinued. You'd have to find it used but they've got the ME-70 out which is the upgraded version :)

  • Hey, i was wondering if i could use my amp's distortion other then the pedal's and if yes. How would i set that up?

  • Very nice demo!!! I have a question for you. I have this pedal and was wondering how to switch between the bank settings that I've saved on it without having to bend over and push the bank selector buttons with my finger?? Is there another pedal I can hook up to it that will allow me to switch it with my foot??? Thanks.

  • @pcollenYT

No offence intended but if the demo isn't what you were looking for don't troll, just give constructive criticism and saying things like 'LAME' doesn't help.

But anyway thanks for the video and I'm considering buying one of these now.

  • It seems like the distortion variation button acts like the FAT switch on my Blues Jr. amp.

You should hav enot talked so much and just played, and you didn't give ANY real demo of the distortion tones..LAME. Check out CHATREEO's videos of the Digitack RP500..much better.

  • hi, I like to play bass, but I'm a real dummy when it comes to pedals and all these technical things. I was trying to do some research on pedals I could get for my bass and this one catches my attention. I remember earlier you said there is no difference between the me 50 and the me 50b, but I've noticed on a few websites that sell instruments and things refer to the me 50B as "boss me 50B bass".Does that mean that the me 50B is actually made specifically for bass and the me 50 for guitar?

  • hey dude, does it have stereo digital delay programmable in miliseconds? im looking for a pseudo doubling effect..

  • Muff Face, LOL

  • Thanks mate, not a bad demo btw.

I'm considering getting one of these, you mentioned a delay between switching OD/clean etc. Is this just due to you deselecting the OD and then stepping on clean, or does it actually delay activating the effect?

  • @theoriginalliquid When you switch between pre-saved patches, there is a small delay. This may be something that they've fixed on the newer model (ME-70), but I'm not sure.

  • Hi- thanks for the video, just wondering though; Can you go from a clean/chorus from the board and then the distortion from another pedal in one stomp?

    Just always wondered that. Thanks...

    =Harri=

  • @Hazpon Well, you can create patches and just switch between them with a single stomp. The only problem is that there is a slight delay (it is noticeable) when you do so. That is one of the major drawbacks of this pedal IMO

  • Hi,

does it have the Feedbacker effect?

  • @Inblut Not that I know of.

  • @azb24

...because the GT6 had a perfect feedbacker. I sold mine a couple years ago and would love to get a used ME50 if it had that same feedbacked...too bad.

  • More playing, less talking.

99% of the guitarists really DO know what the knobs are for.

  • You're special aren't you?

This was the worst pedal demo ever.

Thanks for wasting 10minutes of my life, and I still have no idea what the pedal sounds like....

  • @fallingbird You're welcome :)

  • @fallingbird Maybe watch part 4?

  • @fallingbird

Well i think there are a lot of demos where you can just listen, but this one i like the most because everything is explained in detail... for now(still watching). Thanks for the effort, there is a lot talking been done :D, i have me-50 i think it is worth the money... now understanding some thing's better!

  • can you talk under water lol

  • pure talk the whole time

  • you say um way too much

  • the stereo chorus' are 1123123123 times better than standard chorus, if you have a tube amp type drive.

  • Gohabs13 : you just push hard on the pedal and then it activates the fx

  • what about the wah pedal?

i cant figure out how to activate that on mine

  • You really have to step on the pedal pretty hard to get it to activate. Rock the pedal all the way forward and apply some good pressure. That should activate it.

  • k i jsut did that and it worked thx

i suck with tech stuff and i bought it used so no manual

  • Cool. :) If you go to the Boss website you download the product manual for free.

  • Damn dude, you talk a lot...

"Spring sounds almost like a spring"

    Wow, brilliant...

  • so so so long talkingggg !!!!!!!

  • im getting the me 70 with randall rg 75 cant wait! good review btw

  • how much this pedal cost in US?

  • What a waste of time. A effects demo with absolutely no sound effects. The only thing you can play is a single E string? Come on man. Don't call it a DEMO if its not!!!!

  • Wow.20 minutes of speech, almost without any sound of the effect pedal. Interesting way of a pedal demo, for sure.

  • I might have missed it but what do you use that loop pedal for?? Is it needed to get the most out of the me50?

  • Nope, completely unrelated.

  • one question? how do you use the compressor?? I mean, when you grab your guitar and play loud with high gain, does it give you like HUM noise or interefefring noises due to the connection and power cables?? try to set a patch with high gain and tell me if you hear any kind of HUM noise ?? thanks

  • I no longer have this pedal. The Compressor is much different than a Suppressor. The Compressor acts more on your tone to make a tighter or looser sound, so it won't help you much with Hum/Hiss from gain.

  • your shoes are some haggard bitches

  • Haha - awesome comment. :D I've got new ones now :P

  • FYI Spring mimics a spring reverb found on amps. Thanks for the review.

  • dude that sounded like heaven at end, am gonna fuckin buy one of these!!! i bet it will improve my line 6 spider 3 sound!

  • can anyone tell me if you can adjust like treble, bass, and mid on this pedal? any help is welcome

  • I don't recall it having that ability. Instead they just want you to choose from the amp/tone models. You may be interested in the Boss GE-7 Equalizer pedal.

  • k thanks a lot dude

  • The ME 70 has treble, mid, and bass as well as gain knobs on it.

  • nice, thanks i'll check that out for sure

  • thats because it has pre-amps

  • gett the me-70, its a little better.

  • i need to have this one !!!

Its such a nice multi effect pedal. =]

    Thnx 4 the nice Review

  • The tuner on my me-50 is off! so yours may be also if you own one!

In order to correctly tune the guitar you want to tune to the SECOND red light to the right of the middle green light. The second red light is true tuning.

  • I think you frequency is off. You need to get it to 440 Hz. It's in the manual.

  • awesome thanks ill take a look

  • I used a Kustom Profile PA

  • what guitar are you using? great video. i've bought the me 70... it's just great!

  • I was using an Ibanez AS73.

  • nice, is it good?

  • Yeah, it is a great guitar for the money. Probably the best you're going to find in that range.

  • I use the same kind of shoes he's wearing for PT in the mornings... lolz...

  • Thank you so much for the demo, it really speaks to your character that you would take the time to do this man!

I have a question, can the ME-50/70 connect to ones computer for recording?

  • to much speaking to few demonstration

  • agree'd, its a nice in depth demo but at the end of the day the only real way of people seeing wht its like is hearing the sound

  • Will this go on a Roland Cube 30Watt???

  • i think so.i have a micro cube so i think it will

  • you can use it with any amp

  • can u record to a computer?

  • what a question!

everything that owns an audio-output you can record to a comp.

just connect the me-50 output with the pc-input, open your built-in soundcardmixer to adjust the recordlevel, start your recordingprogram and that's it.

mann, stell dich mal nicht so dämlich an!

  • Spring reverb shouldn't sound "kinda weird" it should sound like the spring reverb found in most combo amps!!!!!!

  • can I have 2 distortion chanels on this pedal? one for rythm and one for lead. so I can switch between them in the middle of the song

  • To switch effect in the middle of the song you can memorize use the memory.

You have 10 bank of memory and every bank have 3 "sub-memory", with a total of 30 effect.

You can select the bank with the selection near the master volume and you can select the sub-memory with the pedal switch.

  • Yes, but there is a slight delay when switching between patches.

  • Got one today. Love it! Running it thru the effects loop in my Mesa Boogie DC3 Head/Carvin 2 - 12 cabinet. Awsome!

  • The ME 50 is a very good pedal. Nice and reliable.

  • sound''??????????????sharap

  • hey i got a problem i wish you could help me please after a few minutes when i turn on the Boss ME-50 a letter "b." apears flashing in the screen and it doesnt go away and when i turn it off and then on it appears again

  • This is a complete stab in the dark on my part, but perhaps the "b" stands for "battery"? Try changing the batteries.

  • thanks a lot i bought a power supply and now it is gone! LOL i thought it was broken thank you

  • Hey man, for the distortion pedal, if i put the knob on BD-2, is it a preset? or do i use the knobs to modify the sound, so its like switching and having that individual BD2 there

  • You use the knobs to modify the tone, so yes, it is like having an individual pedal there.

  • Don't get the ME-50!!! You all should by Korg AX3000G it's so much better and cheaper too!

  • wht makes it better?

  • more programmeble, ESS, better expression pedal etc.

  • Dude, boss is a awesome. If this Korg AX3000G is so much better and cheaper show one thing.. It's plenty of times bader... Nothing can beat boss

  • Thanks man, im getting a ME-50! You rock :)

  • I really wish you would let us here every effect instead of just talking about it, but still good video

  • Will these effects sound as good as the seperate boss stompboxes?

  • Compared to digital Boss stompboxes (delay, chorus?), maybe. ME-50 is not about getting the hi-fi sounds for analog purists, but it's affordable and it really works. I use it ;-)

  • Ahh. I used to have one of these, but since I only play at home these days I sold off all my pedals and just use guitar rig these days. The sound is comparable, but I do miss the hands on action.

  • can u get reverse reverb or backward delay on this?

  • No reverse reverb, but I believe it has reverse delay.

  • what kind of guitar are you using? i have a les paul and marshall mg250dfx and was wondering how if you had humbuckers or single coils

  • Ibanez AS73 - Humbuckers.

  • please respond. if you have other effects pedal and a multi effect how would u set up the chain? would the multi go first and then your regular pedal or what?

  • That's a great question, and a bit of a tricky one too. It really depends on what the other effect(s) is that you're trying to use along side the multi-effects unit. There is a certain path that the multi unit uses, and putting another pedal before or after could drastically change all aspects of your tone. This is one of the reasons that I have recently started making the shift to building a pedal board with single-effect pedals.

  • well i have a snarling dog wah, digitech whammy, ibanez jemini distortion, fulltone overdrive. can i connect these after the me-50?

  • You probably can, but you're going to have to be very selective about what you use on the ME-50 in order to keep the tone of your other pedals. You'll have to shut off the amp modeling, delay won't really help you since your other effects are after (same goes for reverb), etc.

  • HElp..... i have a fender frontman 212r and i love it but i need more effects, im looking at this and a digitech rp500, send me a message and try to help me with my problom give me your opinions.thanks

  • To be honest I don't have much experience with the digitech. As far as multi-effects units go, I really only have experience with the Boss ME-50 and the Boss GT-8.

  • thanks a lot

  • please respond me - is that loop station necessary?

  • You don't need it, no. The ME-50 is just fine without it.

  • Great review! Ths helped explain SOOOOO MUCH! I was wondering what exactly this me could do, but this cleared up a lot. Thank you!

  • on the bosss me50 has it got a good wah pedal and are the distortion pedal modules as good as the actual pedals it modules thanks

  • Well, "good" is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone has different expectations of how effects should sound (especially given the wide array of amps and guitars these days). I do believe that the majority of the effects are just as quality as the single stopboxes, you just have a little less control on some of them.

  • i have the same pedal. But man are you crazy, you are talking 1 minute about master volume. WTF?!!! set your sound and demonstrate!

  • I'm sellin' mine for $200. I hardly ever used it. Msg me if you want it. It's on Ebay.

  • great explanation, Just bought this pedal and it helped me out a lot - thanks!

  • i wonder if you will respond to me, hehe, i am debating over the gt 10 or this baby, i think the me 50 makes more sense because its half the price and it has the effects i want but overall what do you think of the new gt 10? and how to you compare the two, thanks for reading

  • My friend has the GT-10 (last year's model) and it is very nice. It has a ton of features - so many that it sort of takes a while to get dialed in. For most people, the ME-50 is going to be just about everything you want in a fairly simplistic format. Not to dog on the GT-10, but at times it seems a bit bloated with features and seems to take too much time to get it all right and get a good tone. For the money, I think the ME-50 makes a lot of sense.

  • Yeah I agree, I tried out a Pod X3 Live, a GT-10 and this model, the others are just filled with too much and have a lot of unnecessary effects and features, I'd go for the ME-50, I did and it just makes alot more sense to go for it.

  • man, if you played your guitar with this effects pedal 1/100th of the time that you rambled...I might have actually learned something.

  • Thanks for your valuable input.

  • This guy helped out LOADS, you just need to listen. He didn't ramble, he explaining VERY WELL what this pedal does. There are a fuckton of demo's where the user plays guitar lots, but none of them properly explain what this pedal has to offer.

  • are the Overdrive and distortion pedals acually the same?

So is the BD-2 in the Me 50 the same as the stompbox BD2?

  • Thanks m8 ive just orderd mine £149.99 i got it for but there well hard to come by thanks again

  • muff-face

    haha

    brilliant series of demo's.

just bought one because of you!

  • i love this thing

  • im sure the fader pedal thing can also be used to adjust the amount of modulation

  • Yeah man! A unit like that just eats batterys to! invest in the Plug man! lol

  • you using batterys? mine flashes a b when it runs out of batterys, i got the adapter now tho

  • Ahh, I bet that is bcolaitdrums' problem. I've always had the AC adapter. $25 for the adapter is a lot cheaper than continually buying batteries. ;-)

  • hi i just got the boss me 50 and the 6 keeps on flashing at the note/bank how do u get rid of this?

  • Can't say I've encountered that issue. Consult your manual and see if that is some sort of indicator. If not, you could try to reset the unit to factory defaults.

  • do u need to connect the effect to a noise gate to reduce hum?

  • The board includes a Noise Suppressor already, so you can handle it right from there.

  • ey, i'm from argentina, i can't speak english very well, can you tell me wich is your amp? because I have a boss me-50 and I can't find a nice sound, I have a marshall vs65r

  • I actually currently play through a Kustom Profile One PA system. I use the onboard amp modeling on the ME-50 to get a decent tone as if I was using a really nice amp. ;-)

  • heya, do you need to have 2 leads? with one from guitar to pedal and then one from pedal to amp? Thanks

  • That's correct.

  • Thanks for your review. Very thorough.

  • do you have it through an effects loop or right into the amp?

  • I go right into the amp.

  • can you tell me what's the difference in tone by running it trough an effects loop or running it right into the amp ,

  • does it have eq?

  • That is the one thing it does not have.

  • Thanks so much for your really thorough review man! Really helped.I have a question though. Does it keep your guitar and amps tone? Please reply

  • Very welcome. You can surely keep your original tone and add or subtract whatever you want with the effects and tone modeling.
