I think of that scene in 'When Harry Met Sally", where Sally's friend laments that 'He's (friend's married lover) never gonna' leave her (his wife)." for the millioneth time. Sally just looks at her and says matter of fact, "Of course he's never gonna' leave her." Same with John Paul, "Of course he's stringing you along!"
