  • Your seriously awesome. I agree darkseid as birds? WTF were they thinking. And i hate the whole evil entity thing. He's an alien!

  • I must say this, I just realized something. In season 3 "Exile" it was established that Inter-Gang does exist , and was run by Morgan Edge at that time. So, I'm wondering why that doesn't play a part now with the arrival of Darkseid. It's disappointing that we'll never hear about it again, and also that we'll never see Maggie Sawyer, Dan Turpin, or Bruno Manheim again. Season 10 would be a lot better if Inter-Gang was somehow connected, just like i "Superman: Shadow of Apokolips" video game.

  • I think that Smallville got caught up in the "Darkseid" is a god thing, and forgot about the alien part. Hopefully more will get explained later on.

  • The Orphange is the training center for the Female Furies The club was to show how corrupt Darkseid was making him Darkseid's plan is to build his power to regain coporeal form after being imprisioned then conquer Earth How would it make sense to have him on Apokolips waiting? He could boomtube there anysecond this shows him as being unable to really attack not him sitting on his throne ploting like Dr Evil We know he will have a physical form this is just his journey

  • God, calm down. I hope we get an episode focused on Desaad soon, and I agree they should use these characters and other characters from Apokolips more to prepare for Dakseid. I think generally his followers are trying to break the people down so that they are ready to submit to the control of Darkseid.

Although it doesn't seem like much now, the force of Darkseid will probably be alot stronger later in the season.

  • It appears that they got DARKSEID mixed up with DOMINUS. Dominus is a force of evil with no real form who infects people's minds and all that. It's like they wikied different villains and without actually reading what they are researching they say "yeah, that'll do".

  • @chaoticakasha Dominus originally had a body, but you are absolutely correct. He would have been the perfect villain. If they had used Dominus, the VRA storyline and all of its trappings would have made more sense. Darkseid is way too hardcore a villain for a self-hating, emo Clark Kent who can't use all of his abilities and is only capable of anything because Lois Lane provides his motivation. I dread what the writers might do to Darkseid during the 2nd half of the season.

  • @navy0287 Oh I know he originally had a body. I was just saying that the writers are confusing their villains.

  • @chaoticakasha My apologies. I was actually agreeing with your opinion. A lot of Smallville fans have virtually no frame of reference for many of the characters we discuss like Darkseid, Dominus, etc because they pobably have only watched the show for a season or two before season 10; they probably don't read the comics. Your Dominus-to-Smallville comparison was spot on, and I was worried people reading it would assume you supported the way Smaillville is currently doing Darkseid.

  • @navy0287 No problems and no... I don't support it. Actually I feel about the same way I did about Doomsfail and Deathjoke. I mean Slade alone is really just Wade Eiling with a different name and a really bad eyepatch. I don't even know what the hell Doomsday was all about. Smallville has this horrible habit of taking badass and dare I say, beloved villains from the DC Universe (Deathstroke isn't even a Superman villain, he's more connected to Batman, Teen Titans and Green Arrow) and 1/2

  • @chaoticakasha destroying them. Don't get me wrong, Zod was awesome but even then they busted him down to Major. It's infuriating to see a superhero I have admired since I was a little girl being butchered.

  • At last, finally someone who shares my pain about Darkseid. When you said he is "evil incarnate" the first thing that popped into my head was Superman/Batman Apocalypse when Superman tells Kara the exact same thing. The producers have yet again disrespected one of DCs most feared supervillains and ruined his image. Hopefully it won't be a long lasting effect. That's why we have our comics. Well said my man. Well said.

  • "Preparing the way" was exactly the way I was thinking Darkseid would appear! hha Thanks man, you saved me making a video about it! :)

I think Darkseid will come to Earth with the "If you can't get something done right, do it yourself" type attitude..

  • you should wirte to kelly and bryans facebook page

  • @canadianguy0987 dude i havent got to watch any of season 10!! FML..is season 10 really good?

  • I haven't known a heckuva lot about Darkseid... And even though he's Smallville S/10's primary villain - I STILL don't! Because THERE he isn't. I don't jive with everything you say, but you had a great idea about how they should've paced the season, having his minions set the playing field for his ultimate appearance. Michael Clarke Duncan is a big guy with acting chops, he might've been cool.

  • @TheIglooofSolitude (C) Many Smallville fans do not realize that Darkseid has layers. He has a sense of honor, he has been known to be curious, he often finds amusement and humor in certain situations, and he has a great deal of patience (he is "technically" immortal). He is not some mindless spectre of evil. His only reasons for attacking Earth is because the heroes often get in his way and humans hold the key to finding the Anti-Life Equation; not to feed on negative emotions.

  • @TheIglooofSolitude (B) Of Darkseid's minion's, the only ones known to be able to influence the way people think, mentally, are Glorious Godfrey and his sister Amazing Grace. The effect is only possible if the person is empathetic to the message, is weak willed or unaware, or if the person is not shocked by the behavior of the entity influencing them. There would be large numbers of people who would not fall under the "control" of Darkseid and would openly oppose the VRA and its supporters.

  • @TheIglooofSolitude (A) Well said, this is the best Darkseid argument yet. Darkseid is not an formless evil "entity" that has the ability to to possess entire populations and cause them to do evil. Darkseid does have mental abilities, but for him to brainwash a person, they must have a weak or broken will, have no memory, or tap into negative desires the person wants to express, but is unwilling to do so. The anti-life equation is the only way he can mentally control a large population.

  • I think that Slade was brainwashed by Granny Goodness. The last time that he talked to Clark, he told him to leave his loved ones behind and join him. I wonder if Slade had Clark's power to heal because he wouldn't die. I'd love to have another "Combat" type episode where Clark had to battle Titan, but this time battle Darkseid and use his superpowers including his ability to fly. Clark needs to fly at least 4 episodes to get enough practice time in.

  • I really don't think that him just not having a physical body or unexplained motives yet is such a huge problem. But yeah, the purists will always complain, I get that. Still though, let's see how exactly the season wraps up before we judge anybody for "ruining" Darkseid.

  • There are 11 episodes left so they have plenty of time to explain his origins motives. I don't think this is the best interpretation they could've come up with, but it is a suitable one for Smallville. Yes, I, like a lot of other people, would want to see him come from Apokolips with all his henchmen and armies and beat the crap out of Clark and the JLA, and look for the Anti-Life Equation and all of that stuff. But it won't happen. Let's give it a chance, they still have the whole second half.

  • Yeah, Darkseid's the devil. And that isn't intresting. Especially since Darkseid is a character! Its like Galactus in Silver Surfer.

  • Darkseid should have been a physical being (Alien) since the Supergirl ep. -- I hate the hope thing against the dark cloud. -- Now I prefer to have Ultraman be the season's villain! The Luthor ep. was amazing with the whole Ultraman persona.

  • I agree, Smallville's interpretation has completely ruined the character. I don't even think you can call this puff of black smoke 'an interpretation', because they've changed it so much. Unfortunately all their efforts seem to be focused on the stale romantic scenes with awful cringeworthy dialogue.
