  • @PkwyDrive13 Its not uncommon for retailers to get specific products like that. I think it's weird and I wish it wasn't the case, but hey, if they want to buy a couple thousand 512s but want them tan, I'm sure it didn't cost EOTech much to oblige them for that. I saw your video. I like it!

  • @PkwyDrive13 That's where you are wrong man. I didn't buy a used one, or a painted one. I bought it brand new from the store in that color. I have helped a number of other people get them. You can buy them from sportsman's warehouse which is a really big retailer. They wouldn't sell fakes. I even called EOTech to check and they verified it for me. It seems to be a retailer specific model. I've never seen them anywhere but Sportsmans.

  • why the 512 and not the 522?

I bought the same rifle, waitin my time for my paperwork to clear

  • @bretona

    meant 552, eotech 552

  • @bretona I didn't want to pay the extra for night vision since I have no night vision and don't plan on getting any in the future. That and this one was available in tan. That's really it. I know you are going to love the rifle. Anyone who has shot it has said they liked it.

  • $320!?! no way! they are about 390 now... :(

  • @joeyyyXD Christmas time man. Sometimes it pays to buy stuff around then.

  • How mutch did you get it for??

  • @africanfish2001 I don't remember exactly. But they were on sale for christmas for like $320. I think I payed $350.

  • does the eotech TAN color match Magpul's FDE?!? couldnt really pick it up on the camera!

  • @gonzaleza86 It's a really close match. It isn't perfect. But it's dang close.

  • Where did you buy the tan 512? I can't find it anywhere.

    thanks

  • @nakedgoat182 I got it from Sportsmans Warehouse.

  • You shouldn't just say here's the paperwork and stuff then throw it aside because if u get one you have to throw away all the paperwork that comes with it because it's milspec and they don't want it getting into the wrong hands.

  • @funwithfireworks608 Not that it really matters, but I didn't throw it away. It's all safe and sound in the box in the safe. But who cares if you throw it away. Just because something is mil spec doesn't make it somehow a national secret. You don't have to throw it away. If the "bad guys" want it, they can buy it.

  • @newshootersjourney Ya, it doesnt really matter. its just my dad has one and his dad used to be a marine and he kinda made a big deal about. and there really awesome

  • yeah i used the krylon camo ...i just uploaded a vid of it if you want to check it out.

  • nice....i just took the outer cover off my eotech and sprayed it since it came in black.

  • @pray4chicken Did you just spray paint it? How is it holding up?

  • is it kinda...blotchy to the eye? if you know what i mean like blurry kinda, others ive seen have a tight crisp look but the longer models look kinda blurry

  • @bandofbrothers122 It is a bit blurry if the brightness is up really high, but overall I haven't really noticed much of a difference between the two. In all honesty though, I only looked through one of the shorter ones initially at the store. So I don't have a lot of experience with the smaller ones.

  • @newshootersjourney thanks, ill mark this down on my list for the model to get then lol,my friend also said that sometimes they get blurry cause of the quality of the back glass or w/e or it could be dirty

  • @bandofbrothers122 I'm not qualified to give a proper answer on that, but I've seen eotechs work with mud and stuff on the front glass. I'm really not sure on the back glass. All I can say is that personally I use it and I love it. Don't get me wrong, and Aimpoint is an awesome product too and I'll probably get one as well, but for me it came down to reticle design. I LOVE the circle with the dot. It's what works for me. I encourage you to check em both out. Even the smaller eotechs

  • @newshootersjourney yea i know what you mean about the reticle, its a really nice and simple design to aim with i've seen some of the smaller ones, and they look diffrent but i think its the battery probably idk

  • @bandofbrothers122 I wouldn't mind a smaller one. Plus you can get one that would run on the same batteries as the Surefire flashlight I want. Then I won't have to carry two kinds of batteries.

  • @newshootersjourney true i'm eyeing up a Surefire X-200 for my M&P9

  • @bandofbrothers122 I really want a X-400 for my glock. I also really want a Tan G2X for my Stag.

  • @newshootersjourney the x-400 does look pretty amazing,i like the upgrades they did to the mount and the laser they added, seen their stand at the 2010 NRA convention lol

  • @newshootersjourney right, forgot to add this part, sorry but The thing i like about the surefires is the the switch to turn it on,its not in your way it simply goes under the trigger guard and on the grip

  • @bandofbrothers122 That is a cool after market switch that surefire makes. I wish they came standard that way.

  • @newshootersjourney yep,it seems pretty handy to have in a nice spot like that

  • whats the middle button for if it doesnt have nv?

  • @HippieHunta It's not a pushable button since there is no NV function

  • whats the middle button for if it doesnt have nv?

  • The EOtech i mean

  • Where did you get this in Tan, i want one for my RRA

  • @CAPCadetAwesome I got it from Sportsman Warehouse. If there's one by you, that would be the place. If not, I know you can call one of their stores and they will ship it to you. Let me know if I can help in anyway.

  • I went to the sportsmen warehouse web site and can not find the eotech 512 at all? Any ideas email me @ronspine@yahoo

  • @jesus20248 I emailed ya

  • I really like the rvg. Where did you get the ECO tech and rvg? I need a different for grip, but they are so expense (metal).

  • @survivaleveryday I picked up both from Sportsman's Warehouse a few towns over. I really like the RVG. It's short, if I just grab it like a normal forgrip my whole hand covers it, but it is trim at the top to better allow the Thumb Break Grip which is excellent. It's not quick detach, but I don't care because it's on and it's gonna stay there.
