  • When i timed it I kept getting 34.5...

  • Most people don't even run 300m without hurdles in 35 secs

  • This guy can fu**en fly!!!

  • im a senior this year and last year i ran a 35.38 im sure u can beat the record this year

  • with him being a left lead leg it actually lets him generate more speed coming around that corner. so when that left lead legs snap down he is going to end up running a shorter race then someone with a right lead leg

  • i thought my 38 was good.......

  • I bet all the guys behind him were like "FUCK MY LIFE"!

  • who was the dude in 2nd? even though he didnt break the record thats still mad impressive that he was on jeshua's butt the whole time. he had to get a low-mid 36

  • @Kataklysmik1 That waz Reggie Wyatt, he iz now at USC

  • I get 44 seconds as a Freshmen and I'm the best freshmen at my school, and watching that just made me feel retarded.

  • @Ilovehotwings91 if you wanna feel retarded watch bryshan nellum from long beach polly he is a beast

  • That guy is fucking crazy, I'm a sophomore and I only run a 41.91 :)

and my 110s are pretty bad, 16.21

  • it looks like the guy who got second wrapped his trail leg around the 3rd hurdle.

  • @anUHkins he does

  • hollly crap! thats amazing!

  • he doesn't slow down at all.....

  • I run 42's and I'm a junior...I can't even imagine how quick you'd have to react to the hurdles running 35's...unbelievable....i tip my hat.

  • @grnbballntrck yea I do 110's too, but I suck at those as well. Haha

  • qq i can only run a 49 T.T

    oh well. 17.66 for 110 :D

  • this is nothing i am in middle school an i just set the record for a time of 43.13

  • @rocky7018 make your own youtube video and proove it then. all talk and no walk is my bet

  • phhhhh im a freshman and mines a feckn 47:p

  • omg I cnt evn tell that he jumps over the hurdle.....he like hops

  • @stafana13 no if he hopped he wouldnt be running that fast if were going to say something say something like he just lifts his leg an extra inch

  • hes so quick over the hurdle, almost faster then he is on his feet, stop flying.

  • Dang/: imma sophomore in high school and I only run a 42/:

  • @AsylumOfSolitude that's still really good. u do 110's too? cause you should

  • thats some good filming too

  • of coarse they had to be black

  • @devilman819 i hope that isn't a problem.

  • that's not even human...i live in Indiana...fastest i saw last year was 40.0 flat...i thought that was fast haha

  • god damn, and i thought my 39.4 was fast. god damn. thats some good shit

  • imagine if he didnt studder step the 2nd to last hurdle...

  • dat boi got trill wheels

  • so fast!!!

  • that is one fast muthafucka!

  • my pr is 43 sec

  • Man!! I ran a regular 300 meter dash at 35 secods and that was torture!! think about how it is with hurdles there!! I'd die!!

  • I ran 100 meter hurdles in middle school. I'm hoping to try this event as well as the 110 meter High hurdles in high school.

  • JAMES LOOOGAN!

  • fucking sick dude. best ive seen in ohio is like a 38.

  • holy shit

  • Holy shit....

  • Part 8

That race was run at that meet and I won in a time of 18.0. I had never run it before but it seemed to be made for me and someone with my size and speed. I have metals to prove it but for the life of me I cannot find any documentation of it. Perhaps some of you young computer research wizards can help. Searching times for the 180LH, it seems good times were in the 19s and mid 18s. I havent found any times sub 18seconds.

  • @richhohmann The 180 lows was a holdover from a race they used to run in prehistoric times, the 220 lows. After the 220 lows disappeared, the 180's were an absurd race, because after high school it was never run again. The 300 m intermediates is a much better race for prep athletes, because it actually prepares them for the 400h in college. BTW, I also ran the 180 lows back in high school, times in the low-mid 19's. Hated it, LOL!

  • @eatme1969gator The Youth divisions (14 and under age group) for both the USATF and AAU national track organizations still run the 200M hurdles. They switch to 300M hurdles for the 16 and under age group. Middle Schools also run the 300mH.

  • Part 7

My best win was that summer of 1977 (right after high school). I was approached after the LA City Sectionals and joined a new track team, L.A. Express. We took a train to Albuquerque, New Mexico and competed in an AAU sanctioned national event at the University.

We had an awesome team! Mostly winners from the LA area. Anyways, I got to compete in the 4X100 (we won), 4X400 (winners) and the 180 Low Hurdles, something they got rid of around 1974 or so before switching to the 330s.

  • Part 6

I then transferred to West Valley J.C. in Saratoga, South Bay Area.

I think I would have won the state JC Decathlon meet that year until I tore my hamstring real good Pole Vaulting @ Hancock College in Santa Maria. I had the points lead with 3 events to go including the dreadful 1500M. To tough on a bad Ham, although I did finish.

Hey maybe some of you track nuts can do me a favor and look up something for me.

    In the archives of course!

    Rich

  • Part 5

I didn't go down but close and that really slowed me up.

A big tall kid from Canada took that race in 51 something. I who stand around 5' 9" ended up in 4th place around 53 seconds.

I was contacted by many colleges afterwards, including Coach Bush from UCLA.

I was young and dumb, turned down some scholarships, and stayed running at Pierce J.C. near my Woodland Hills home where I had some good fun & times for a year.

  • Part 4

That summer I ran the 440 IH for the first time on the Junior USA team in which we competed against Canada and Japan @ UCLA. Andre Phillips had another engagement, I think, so the coach at a nearby JC, Pierce College suggested ME to Coach Bush, then at UCLA.

I had the lead coming onto the last straight approaching the finish line and still felt great and in control until my trail leg caught the 2nd to last hurdle (if my memory serves me right).

    Rich

  • Part 3

I then won the 1977 Arcadia Invitational in Pasadena and then competed in the 77 CA state meet @ UCLA where I took 2nd in my heat at 36.87 but blew it in the final (8th) 37.65 to Andre Phillips, the winner.

How I wish I could do it again and now.

Most of my races in my day were on a hard ass track. God that hurt!

    More to come...

    Rich

  • Part2

Yes! I'm an old Dude, I suppose; (51).

I held the record at Taft for awhile until other bigger and stronger guys came along to snatch it up.

    I ran the 120HH in 14.5 and 330LH in 36.7as a senior.

I went to the state meet in 1976 & 1977.

Charles white, ex USC & NFL running back got me in the finals of the LA City sectionals and broke the national record at that time; 36.0. I ran a 37.5 in that race as a junior.

  • Part 1

I agree with most everyone in that both these guys are down right studs.

It seems like most of you fellows are quite young and running presently.

Best of luck to you all in your hurdling and track careers.

So you know, I ran at the same High School, Taft in woodland Hills; 1977 Grad as Jeshua, so it seems. Many a good hurdlers came out of that school over the years.

    Rich

  • holy crap! I need to get some longer legs so I can do that...

  • My time is 40.25

  • Great form. Way to stride out instead of stutter. relax and drop shoulders on last 75m should drop .3-.5 sec. keep up the hard work.

  • DAMN that was fast! my best time is like 40 haha i guess i just got blown away...

  • he couldnt run VARSITY when he transfered

  • Alright, starting off. The usual stride for the 300s is 15. Some people like reggie and jeshua, only take 13 steps.

Reggie wasn't academically inelligible his junior year. He transfered from J.W. North to La Sierra.... I don't know why.

    The hurdle heigth is 36''.

And finally, Reggie was a sophmore.

  • very fast....and 2 years later Reggie runs 35.27 then 35.02 and he's on his way to USC..... so we'll get to see them two racein the pac 10 for the next two years

  • geez 35.28! i wonder what his 400 is

  • about to ask the same thing haha

  • i ran a 39 but i am only 5' 9" and their strides are twice as long as mine! that is amazingly fast!

  • wow thats amazing time i only ran a 38

  • even though he doesnt have the record anymore this guy is still a hell of a runner. i think he looks faster over the hurdles than wyatt but with wwyatt being well over 6 feet his stride gives him the speed to run a faster time.

  • @juliantb7777 - im pretty sure he still has the record. if im wrong then tell me who does?

  • @juliantb7777 ---im pretty sure he still has the record. if he doesnt then tell me who does?

  • @henryhok9

    Reggie Wyatt has national record

  • @henryhok9 reggie wyatt. 35.02

  • Whats a good time for a high school sophomore (male)

  • i'd say like 40 or 41. depends who you are tho. in the 30s is really superb too tho.

  • freshmans are starting to run 40's...

  • Below 42"

  • well I was trying to count how many steps he took between his hurdles and it seemed to be about 12 thats amazing

  • if you run the hurdles in an even number then he would have switched his lead leg every time. he ran 13 steps..

  • the usual stride is 17

  • It is usually 15, for some it is 13, and in rare cases such as Reggie Wyatt, who I faced it is 11...

  • The guy who got 2nd was only a sophmore and he broke the record a couple of days ago with a 35.02. he wudve got 34 if he didnt hit the last hurdle

  • did anyone film it!? post it up!!!!

  • wait so u saying reggie wyatt got second as a sophomore in this race? wow. what a boss!

  • these people are fast when i was a sophomore i ran like a 45

  • Yes he did. and he was not eligible to run his junior year so we all waited for his senior year to come out!

    35.02

  • reggie guy ran a 35.02

  • he was a freshman in this video.

  • To better your 300 hurlde time it helps to train for fo the open 400m. As well as hurdling drills obviously

  • in the 300m hurdles should it be preferred to alternate lead legs?

  • REGGIE WYATT 35.02

  • rayout's right, just today (June 5, 2009) Reggie Wyatt, who coincidentally in this video got second place in this race, just smashed the national high school record at 35.02 in the California State Championship Prelims....he still has a chance to lower it tomorrow in the finals by, dare I say, going 34? Freakish athlete, he also in the finals for the 400m, what a unique double to win if he does well.

  • records gone folks. reggie wyatt has it with 35.02.

go to dyestat(dot)com if u want to see the video.

  • damn look at that stride..sheesh

  • I'm going to be a Freshman, and I've been training like crazy for the hurdles next year and I've got the 110m down, but the 300m hurdles come as a challenge, I just need to learn not to stutter and I can get maybe a 41 or 40 next year.

This guy's run is beautiful not stutter and glides over the hurdle, it's great.

  • @DoggieBark learn to go over with either leg then you won't studder...I did that and had a huge advantage...

  • gah!!! my time is a 45:04......im going 2 be a junior next year but with more hard work im gonna try running a 42:00......

  • you are my idol!!! i only got a 39.24!

  • niceeee

  • thats simply crazy... perfect form, amazing speed- haha he should def do 400hurdles in college

  • wow, crazy man! my time is like 50 secconds, I won my heat though : )

  • sweet. I ran those for da first time 2day and got 48.2. I thought I did good. I won my heat. Anyway, good job!

  • thats crazy fast. im still working on breaking 40 haha

  • my best time is 42.2 just started 4 months. and my 110 hurdles is 14.7, but im a junior

  • im a sophmore and i am at a 40.4

going for the school record (39.73)

but anyone who runs under a 37 is ridiculous!

  • How fast can you run the 400?

  • My best was last year at the VT state meet at 44.66 or something, high 44s. I was 8th then, but I'm the 3rd fastest in the state now, I'm hoping to get down to a 42, that's my goal. I want to get top 6 at my meet on Friday so I can get on the podium lol.

  • Comment removed

  • Zawisza? I think you can make the podium at states this year. Pfister isn't D1, so he'll clean up d2. If you ran 44 last year, no reason why you can run 42 this year. I wanna be sub 39. Just run it like a 200

  • Thanks man, I should be able to get 5th if I run my absolute best. I think I could get down to 42. You better break the state record.

  • 38.6 handheld, so I think all I have to run is 38.84 for the record. It's doable, but it'll be hard. When I ran that 39.89 last weekend, my first two hurdles were bad, and I lost my rhythm between 3 and 4. the rest of the race was good though.

  • I run these. Best time is 43.5. 5th in my district but small school. We're a B haha.

  • dang... and i am having trouble breaking 39... :[

  • holy jesus that's fast my fastest time is like 45

  • This is Jeshua Anderson.

48 seconds for the 400m hurdles for WA state

  • this guy is ridiculous.

what kind of workouts do you guys do to train for the 300H

  • Comment removed

  • Wyatt could be takin this record down tomorrow... we'll see though

  • Holy shit this guy is amazing. He really snaps over the hurdles.

  • all i can say to all these "amazing runners" is this, talk is cheap, post a video of yourself PULLING these times, the faster you say your times are, the more embarrassing it is when you don't even come close to pulling them, so please, shut the fuck up juliantb, or post a video.

  • If you really did that, then you must have broken both of those world records. I guess you're the world record holder.

  • Comment removed

  • yea 4real,but MAN this guy is sop sick 4 real,i dont think i can do a 35 300 w/out hurdles lol

  • Actually you are. Considering you think I'm serious. It's really ironic because I was making fun of the people who are serious, and your making fun of the person whos making fun of the real douche bags.

  • your a retard

  • lmao....... this is the dumbest thing ive ever read.

  • i'm sorry everyone, but nobody really cares about what your times are unless you post a video or something, so you can stop leaving all these comments saying that you ran sub 40 and your only a 8th grader. seriously

  • Amen I agree your 100% right on!!

  • i always watch this before my 300 m hurdle race. i was able to see reggie wyatt race at mt. carmel! that guy is a mothafuckin beast! its not even funny!

  • Dude shut up no one cares. And you probably don't run that. Whats your name?

  • Then please, post a video. I would love to see you do it.... Or try to at least. What state are you from dude? You should be top in the nation for freshman then.

  • im a freshmen and i ran a 45 yesterday on jv "high school" and got third ......1st place dude ran a 41 he s a sophomore ..and in 110 im runnen like 15.8 thats my pr hurdles r badass.

  • I want to get that good i think i can my sophomore time was a 50 thats cause it was my first year now my junior year i am at 47.00 i think i can get to 40.00 on my next race which is east county , great times everybody has wow i'm in cross crountry and i think it is a good advantage i ran a 19.30 5k and my school record for a 300 hurdels is 36.6 now thats crazy fast but i want to try to beat it .

  • I'm 7th Grade and I run a 50:06. I have the best in my district.

  • I heard Jeshua is just a football player who drops by track sometimes. Is that right? I do not get this to add up, judging by his this race, aswell as him taking the jr. world champoinship title. I ran 38.25s last year as a 16 year old. That is pretty good, but I am still miles away from this guy.

  • Dude, GRatTV, your times are good, not great. There is an abundance of people that can run 40 flat. I'm not saying that you suck or anything but if you think that you'll get down anywhere near 35, you are wrong. Jeshua Anderson got down there and he was the 12th ranked hurdler in the world last year as a freshman in college. You're sadly mistaken...shoot for breaking 39.00, that might be within your reach. I have actually raced against Jeshua, he destroyed me. I ran a 39.24 in high school.

  • Interesting...I have to run these for the first time ever tommorw....not only that...but its the FIRST MEET OF THE YEAR LoL

  • Well Im sure you all remember my post last year, saying I was a sophmore running this in 47, first year running and i plan to get down to 40 by junior and 35 by senior. A drop of 12 secs over 2 years.

Well im on track, junior year = 40.37

so HA HA to everyone who said it couldnt be done

  • u sho u aint just makin dem numbas up lol i was runnin 45 flat my freshman year. sophmore 42.3 and this year i plan on runnin sub 40.... now those sum realistic numbas

  • 41.52 sophomore year

41.31 junior year (on a sprained ankle)

    senior year.......?

  • i ran:

    43.3 freshmen

41 flat first meet sophomore year then stopped and focused on the 110 hurdles..

then junior year i ended up pulling a hammy so couldn't do nothing really now as a senior im going after both my school records which are 110h: 14.2, and 300h: 38.7 oh yah i ran a 15.3 as a sophomore in the 110 i was ranked 3rd in region at USATF JO in Buffalo NY in 06" in the finals fell over last hurdle and couldn't go to nationals down in Baltimore my age groups was 15-16

  • Why do people think its really badass to tell their story on YouTube, its not even true. "I tripped on the last hurdle...." Cool man.... That was a heart breaking story.....

  • dude chill out. and im not lying. and if u dont care than dont read it. but down give me the thumbsdown cuz u think im lying when im not.

  • just ran a 40.2

    gettin closer!

  • Hmm... if you've dropped 7 already then that means you were either uncoordinated and now your body finally matured and you had a growth spurt. so props to you if you've dropped that much... but to drop another 5 means you have to run each 100 1.5 seconds faster. that's a lot... HOWEVER I coached a kid 10 years ago who ran 47 highs and ended up setting the school record at 38.6. so i think 38's are doable BUT i'd love for you to prove me and everyone else wrong. who doesn't want to see a 35?

  • it cant...unles you plan on putting massive work into it

  • honeslty dude once you break 40 flat it gets harder and harder just like in the 100m when you hit the high 10s like 10.9, 10.8 it really gets hard to get to a 10.5.. see i have a friend he abotu 5'4" weighs about 140lbs and ran a 10.8 as a freshmen he is not muscular at all believe me. he hasent relaly broken a 10.7 and he is now a senior with me. dont believe me check him out names dajoun heidelberg was ranked 13th i beleive in the nation in USATF JO in age group 11-12 with a 11.5 i believe

  • damn!

  • dub ten representa

  • that's jeshua anderson, won the ncaa 400mh as a freshman. He's a bad dude

  • this dude is really the coldest hurdler that ive seen thus far unbelievable

  • our school record for the 300m (no hurdles) is 36.9 and that guy ran D1 for U of Wisconson, but he only ran the race once,

his 200m time was 21.5, that just shows how fast this time is

  • hey guys, i am on the track team at my high school and i want to be better then the guy who wins first.. a hard task i know,, but where should i start??? any help from people who have an idea is greatly appriciated... thanks

  • yeah, watch tons of hurdles videos. Watch how other people run. FORM FORM FORM. Work on it. Go over hurdles over and over again. Be the last one to leave the track. Do 400's with all 8 hurdles set up. This will really work on your endurance. Best thing you can do. Eat, breath, and sleep hudles. Best of luck to you.

  • It's amazing time!!!

  • damn

  • woot woot look at me gettin 9th place. ahhaha so sad.

  • so sad? u were at the cali. state meet wtf?

  • 1 Jeshua Anderson 12 Taft/la 35.28

    2 Reggie Wyatt 10 North Jw/Ss 35.90

    3 Rashad Smith 12 Pinole V/Nc 37.06

    4 Brian Law 12 Vll Prk/ss 37.47

    5 Lau Kevin 12 Schurr /ss 37.86

    6 Cameron Stepney 11 San Grgn/ss 37.89

    7 Trevor Habberstad 12 Canyon-CC/ss 37.94

    8 Eric Hersey 12 Los Altos/cc 37.98

    9 Kendrick Young 12 Clvs East/ce 38.82

  • nice music lol

  • What state is this? I'm from Maryland and 35's are simply unheard of! lol. We're kind of lacking on the running scene. A lot of National Class distance runners back in the day, but nothing really since.

  • do u now know how to read? it says it's California

  • read the description

  • dang...i run a 37.2 as a freshman, hoping to get in low 30's.

  • prove that shit or shut the fuck up

  • bullshit no u dont
