  • This is the sauciest TV show theme song of all time. It harkens back to a time when people smoked in elevators, men wore smoking jackets and apparently *everyone* kept unregistered gun(s) in the unlocked glove box in their convertible. That and they *all* have motive, see. Especially the brunette.

  • @NIGHTWHMAN it's the drumming!

  • Godzilla's greatest rival.

  • I used to pretend it was a dirty picture they were passing around !

  • This was the best television theme song ever!

  • PERFECT. <3

  • I like the opening with him sitting alone in the courtroom better, with the dramatic dolly shot up to him and then back. That's the one I remember. Visually, it seems to go much better with the theme song.

  • for some reason this song use to scare me as a kid after i watched i love lucy. lol!

  • xg0m,I agree with you,100%,lol....

  • why it's scary for you ?

  • i am 43 been watching perry in rerun form since i was about 5. i think i have seen them all at least 2x, great line of stars and future ones appeared on here, also love all the cool cars that are shown... all around timeless classic.....

  • Raymond Burr talked like he had trouble breathing. Does anyone know if he smoked? It especially got worse as he later played Ironside.

  • I love that show's theme.

  • ... for those of you musing forever with the Perry Mason theme, it becomes incumbent upon me to provide you with some interesting trivia: composed by Fred Steiner, its original title is "PARK AVENUE BEAT".

    Yours in stereo,

    Lex

  • Yup. The version of the theme used in the first season was recorded in Mexico. (Back then, networks often used music recorded overseas, or library music - it was cheaper.)

The first season had 39 episodes; all but two were based on Erle Stanley Gardner's original Perry Mason mystery novels.

  • me podrian decir donde consigo la serie en español,porfa!

  • One of my all time favorites.

  • This is from Season 1 of this show.

  • The very first episode of the show.

  • Now I'm gonna sing the Perry Mason Theme. AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

  • Thanks, that was a nice rendition. Sure brought back memories....yeah right.

  • Love this show! It was my Grandmother's favorite. It wasn't on when I was a kid, but I now live in Chicago and get the wonderful channel MeTV and they play it. I DVR it every day.

  • He's looking good on here!

  • A classic tv courtroom drama with alot of

    great talent!

  • The BEST law/drama show ever! The opening theme is a timeless classic that everybody recognizes. I read the books and still love watching the shows whenever I can...thanks for the great post!

  • This has always been my favorite version of the theme, with the subtly out-of-tune" piano and the drum percussion beat. Starting with Season #2, the percussion was dropped and the theme became rather dull. This version was brought back for the series' last season in 1966.

  • And this was from the very first episode of the series {September 21, 1957}. Fred Steiner wrote a great theme!

  • this opening theme would have to be one of the best of all time. thanks for posting !

  • I taped that one. It is the best one of all. I watched it when I was 5 or six.
