Honda Goldwing Test Ride

3 1/2 days... including oil changes... (had those set up in advance)...

Have an '05 GL1800 (silver) base model plus driving lights, love it to death, already have 318,000+ miles on it! (yes miles)... Bought it new, in showroom, drove it home in east san diego county, ca, usa. Packed trunk, both side-bags, and a big-assed tank bag... and broke it in proper!... Rode it to upstate new york to visit with a friend for a week. I think I met every big name honda dealer from here to there... Proper break-in includes the break-in oil changes. Ca 2 NY (3 1/2 days)...Ironbutt!

Can't find the blurb now - it's a while ago - but on one release i had Honda says they are 'Heating'. Air passes around the engine and is warmed.

the air vents down by the knees are just cosmetic! the chrome "vents" just slots into a recess box in the fairing..no through air..however the top ones are real, still a brill bike though, Im now on a 2009 model (European)

I have a 2010 pearl white 1800 gl luxury with 6 stacker cd player driving lights the whole box and dice.

I had a choice a Harley Davidson or a Honda Goldwing i chose the Goldwing,amazing bike

I'm in the same boat. Looking at some of the 2012 models which include; Harley Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Limited, the BMW K 1600 GTL, the Victory Vision -- but lately I keep coming back to liking the styling of the Goldwing.

warum Goldwing Fahrer nicht grüßen:

1. laut Honda-Fahrer-Handbuch darf er den Lenker erst loslassen, wenn das Motorrad steht, der Zündschlüssel abgezogen, der Hauptständer herausgeklappt und das Radio ausgeschaltet ist

2. auf dem Armaturenbrett ist kein Knopf für "vollautomatisches Zurückwinken"

3. ist gerade eingeschlafen

4. kriegt den Arm wegen Altersschwäche nicht mehr hoch

5. hat übers Handy eine Konferenzschaltung mit seinem Broker und der City-Bank.

6. Mami hat verboten, Fremde zu grüßen

7. ist gerade mit Abzählen der Lämpchen am Christbaum beschäftigt

8. sortiert momentan seine CD Sammlung

9. die Hand vor der Antenne stört den Fernsehempfang

10. räumt gerade das Kaffeegeschirr in den Spüler

11. wegen seinem Alzheimer weiß er anschließend nicht mehr, wohin mit der Hand

12. findet nachher zwischen all den Knöpfen, Schaltern und Hebeln den Lenker nicht mehr

13. wechselt gerade die Batterie vom Herzschrittmacher

14. er sucht gerade im Bordcomputer, was 'erhobene Hand eines fremden Motorradfahrers' bedeutet

15. grüßt immer, aber wegen dem Geraffel um den Lenker sieht keiner die Hand

lol. This is my first bike when I first got it a year ago I thought I was in the cot pit of an air plane. All those buttons n shit makes it bloody complicated to get to grips with lol. I love it though. Thats my baby and I wouldnt have anything else
