  • latex won't form a realistic mask go for silicone it lasts longer and looks much more realistic....

  • Hi, i'm one of you client great DVD, I have a question, after finish paint my mask, which clear coat (brand), acriliy or latex, do you recomend?

  • i use a latex clear coat by Michael's Crafts. This way you can still do any over-painting on it...then a final clear coat by PLASTI-DIP is used for a waterproof seal coating.

  • i do mainly collectors heads in latex. They are not wearable-the eyes are painted in. I did a Michael Myers mask thats wearable recently....

  • SINCE U WERE SO POLITE IN ASKING.....it depends on several factors...the type of latex, how much ur buying, if the mask has hair, paint etc...usually under 50.00

  • to amke a custom fit mask , you need to make a mold of your fave , then a casting...

  • liquid latex is poured into the plaster mold. It sets overnight and is removed...you see the whole process in my DVD :)

  • i use plaster of paris..

  • for this mask i used plaster of paris...but there are other materials that can be used...

  • Very nice! I love the Billy Mumy! Has he seen these? Capturing a likeness is no easy task, but he looks wicked! I dabble in masks a little too...made a full Creature from the Black Lagoon outfit a few Halloweens ago..all latex strips molded and cast were then silicone glued over a wet-suit. Mask and hands from scratch. I checked for masks of ole Blackie on the net, but found that they were lame or insanely expensive...so I made one myself..

  • hi stef! I found out the more time you put into your project , the better it turns out.

    The original clay sculpt is where most of the time and skill are put in. it's always exciting when you pull the first mask from the mold!
