  • Looks like that part of these quad ovals tend to hurt the most drivers.

  • @marijuanamanful blaise Alexander drove the #75

  • @RCR37 It's messed up that you made me lol with a comment on this vid -.-

  • @marijuanamanful , more like shit camera work.

  • The best part is: When the crash happens, many ppl stand up shouting and applauding for the crash. Welcome to America!

  • @RamsesXVVVII When they crashed they werent cheering they were yelling and screaming. And whent he got out of the car they cheered for his safety.

  • @RamsesXVVVII Your a fucking idiot, they didn't know it at the time. If you don't like us go the fuck away.

  • A shame. The HANS device would have prevented this. The safer barrier likely would not have helped in this case as he died from a basilar skull fracture.

  • @SlamDuncDrummer HANS are required. he was wearing one

  • @kinphooey - do your research before you post.

ARCA did not mandate the use of a HANS device until just after Alexander was killed by a basilar skull fracture. NASCAR had mandated the use of a HANS device starting in October of 2001 however ARCA did not mandate the use of the device until after Alexander's death.

CART mandated the HANS device in 2001 for oval tracks and later for all tracks.

NHRA mandated the HANS device in 2005.

Formula 1 mandated the HANS device in 2003.

  • SlamDuncDrummer is 100% correct. All the dates that are shown here were in fact the dates that the device was mandated. Unfortunatly for this young man and many drivers the mandates were made to late. The jump to mandate the hans device was made after the death of beloved driver Dale Earnhardt in 2001 at the Daytona 500.

  • @kinphooey - had he been wearing one, he would almost certainly have survived that crash without injury. Alexander suffered no other injuries in this accident other than the basilar skull fracture.

  • @SlamDuncDrummer That's what I'm saying. He WAS wearing one. They are required. If he wasn't wearing a HANS, then he was wearing a Hutchins or another safety device.

  • @kinphooey - simply take 30 seconds to even read Blaise Alexander's WIKI and this information is available. It is also available in dozens and dozens of articles on racing safety since 2000.

  • @SlamDuncDrummer My bad, I was wrong. I thought this was much more recent, but turns out in was in 2001. I agree with you, a HANS would have saved his life.

  • blaise was a promising driver i wished safer barries were invented after seniors death

  • they knew he was dead when they saw him gettin out

  • What a shame that wen had to experience a few deaths before mandating the HANS device :( .

  • @jraybay We*

  • What year was this?

  • half the poeple here think Kerry Earnhardt (#2) died, I chuckle at that, but It's sad to see such a great racer pass away (Blaise Alexander #75).

  • The title of this video should be..."Race car flips and catches fire". I'm just sayin.

  • My goodness did you see how much they moved his head around when they got him on the stretcher? You never do that with a crash victim.

  • @bpnsirdiealot It doesn't really matter if the victim is already dead. Which this guy was.

  • @dbkparm There is still hope of resuscitation so you still don't do it.

  • @bpnsirdiealot Those guys knew the SECOND they looked in that car that he died on impact, just like Kenny Shrader knew the instant he saw Dale Sr. that there was something catostrophically wrong. When a guy has been without vitals for as long as Blaise was, and is bleeding from his ears, nose, and eyes, as I'm sure he was, there really isn't much hope for resuscitation. I understand where you're coming from, and you are correct in 99% of the cases, but there was no hope in this case.

  • @bpnsirdiealot They knew he was dead the second they saw him in the car. Do you need a description of what he looked like, with the blood coming from his eyes, ears, nose and mouth? These guys know what they are dealing with.

  • @RCR37, so the guy in the 75 car got burned to death, not the #2 guy?

  • @51NAPA neither burned to death. Blaise Alexander in the 75 died from the impact. The ride the #2 car took (the flip) wasn't really that bad. He just turned over and slid a ways on his roof. Blaise was the one who took the biggest hit since he's the one that hit the wall full force.

  • @erasetoimprove now i gets it. Lemme ask u something. Are u familiar w/Dale Sr.'s "01 death @ Daytona? I feel a similarity.

  • well, now the HANS device is mandatory

  • This was Jimmie Johnson's best friend. He still has a decal on the nose of his car with Blaise's name on it and says "He will always finish ahead of me"

  • when Nascar was not safe. too bad kerry doesnt drive anymore.

  • @USAF2409 this was not NASCAR

  • @erasetoimprove they get their chasis and stuff from nascar same difference.

  • @USAF2409 they didn't back then. Most of the teams didn't start buying NASCAR chassis until NASCAR's Car of Tomorrow came out, then NASCAR teams had a ton of old chassis to sell. Even now ARCA teams build their own chassis. It was just when the COT came out in NASCAR there was a surplus of chassis to sell to ARCA teams.

  • @erasetoimprove I thought each time nascar chasis changed they sell the old one to ARCA! Oh well lol

  • i hate kerry earnhardt for killing blaise-kerry you are really a total piece of shit. and if you ever see this i hope blaise's ghost haunts you ever second you still breathe you fucking loser

  • @don28pa you think he did this on purpose? It was the last lap and both of them wanted to be as close to one another as possible so they could side draft. Doesn't usually work on a quad oval, but any driver would do the same on the last lap.

  • Bozo Earnhardt squeezed Blaise into the wall. The tracks are much safer with him and his old man out of racing.

  • @bagruen fuck u moron dale sr never hurt anyone nor was it his intentions tou hurt anyone same with kerry he didnt say hey lets kill a man and turn in to him to kill him ur ignorant

  • @mulletsrule3388 ,,, No, Kerry didn't intentionally do this. But it was totally because of his piss poor driving (probably blocking with his mirror which is was what killed his old man) that this accident occured. Kerry does it 'cause he's a bozo wanna-be driver. Sr. ran into people intentionally then tap danced around with comments like "I didn't mean it. I just wanted to rattle his cage". Just trying to surgar coat it to the press and think he's funny. The sport is MUCH better off without him

  • @bagruen with out dale earnhardt the sport would have never reached themainstream like it has so think before u talk

  • @mulletsrule3388 ,,,, The economy, sponsors, network coverage, announcers, drivers, etc. pushed NASCAR to the mainstream. Earnhardt just had a part in it.

  • @bagruen the sponcers the people noone would have seen the potential of this sport with out dale

  • @mulletsrule3388 ,,, You're wrong. To the herd of "sheep" who idolize him he is responsable for the success of the sport. He's like the rooster taking credid for the sunrise.

  • @bagruen no its not let me explain this to u slowly people needed a driver they could relate to a hard working man who never took shit from anyone and raced his heart out that man was dale and he was what nascar needed and with him gone the sports not the same

  • @mulletsrule3388 that's not really true considering 80% of NASCAR fans hated Dale until he went into his post-injury slump in '96 and came back from it. Sadly 2001 was going to be his first year fully recovered from those injuries. But honestly, Earnhardt was one of the "bad guys" for much of his career. Rule of thumb in NASCAR - the Bad Guys always become fan favorites in the end.

  • i was there that night

  • @marijuanamanful HE MENT THE FUCKIN 75 NOT THE FUCKIN 2 ASSHOLE!

  • mann=/ R.I.P. blaise... i feel bad for kerry earnhardt too.. hes the one in the car that flipped. he lost his dad a few months earlier than this and then hes involved in a fatal crash with one of his close friends.=[ i couldnt imagine

  • It ain real. There were 4 cars, then a 5th came outa no where

  • @lilrikuownzz what the fuck/ its real i watched this race live hes dead

  • @1hardycena Jeez man.. Chill out.. I was joking.. Sheesh.. Take a joke.. Damn. Get your panties outta a bunch, and maybe that'll help :)

  • @lilrikuownzz u said it wasen't real. srry for trying to tell u the truth

  • @1hardycena Didn't have to be so mean about it :( But yeah, I know it's real.

  • Wow that would suck to go to a race where somebody dies

  • @Trevizdabomb i think it would suck more to be the number 2 car. To be in an accident where the other driver dies is horrible :(

  • @ADRtobi true

  • And it looks like the #75 did actually have MUCH more damage than the #2... It doesn't mean that when you flip, you get more damage...

  • @PhilipTheBigOne more damage usually means more energy absorbed by the car and not the driver. Less damage but hard impact means the driver took a lot of it. You WANT to see a lot of damage, it is usually better for the driver.

  • Hey RCR37, time to block a few people, I see a lot of insulting comments here!!! If you people want to play it smartASSES, go on another video and do WHATEVER your heart wants!!! DON'T PLAY SMARTASSES IN A VIDEO WHERE SOMEONE DIED FOR PETE'S SAKE!!!

The people had NO IDEA that Blaise was dead, they were cheering for Kerry getting out of the car!!!

  • hahahahahaha I FARTED hahahahahahaha I FARTED hahahahahahaha I FARTED hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • they were racing for the lead

  • broken neck?the crash does not look that heavy.mhmm...poor guy

  • @GIwillo look at the video that this was a response to, it was one of the hardest hits in nascar history

  • @osubuckeyes14 ok, i see.looks very hard.so he died because of head injuries.no wonder at this speed.

  • @GIwillo almost identical to earnhardt's crash... exact same fatal injury i believe...

  • @GIwillo he hit the wall head on at im guessing about 160mph... and did not have on a hans device...

  • lotta drivers been killed at charlotte...

  • @caseyreavis Humpy Wheeler likes it that way

  • I remember Blaise had set up a fund or something for all the kids that were killed in that plane accident over Long Island a few years ago. They were from his hometown. That was in like '97 or '98? something like that.

This was also a few weeks after Steve Park's near fatal Busch accident. 2000-2001 were not good.

  • it was very unexpected for that to kill a driver at first i thought it was the 2 and this also happened earnhardt sr but he didnt flip and these were 2 unexpected wrecks to kill a driver

  • @Mr8cbones You're an idiot.

  • @Mr8cbones yea considering the guy died, i would call that fatal

  • no]\\

    ryanofwar87

  • no]\\

  • anytime they have to cut the car open to get the driver out is a very bad sign

  • another big name...for a big racing 3rd-generation superstar...gone!

he drove the WCW car for the National series in 2000.

  • Blaise Alexander RIP

  • me and my dad where there and i remember him telling me that he had a bad feeling about Blaise Alexander

  • Well what happened to the rest of the video? Everyone thought the Earnhardt crash was more serious because of the sparks. Little did they know they just watched a man die. A frickin shame.

  • Dumbshits!!! The car that didnt flip was fatal!

  • u dumbasses dont know any thing about racing that was in 2000 kerry earnhardt in #2 and blaize alexander in #75 them 2 were best friends and you cant imagine how hard that was on kerry loose his dad and get in a crash with his best friend and he passed 2 probably why kerry dont race anymore

  • who ever filmed tht i find ur comments accatully vile

  • what is the difference between arcar and nascar?

  • @SPAZZY1912 as far as i know nascar is just for the poor and stuipd, must be different in arcar..

  • @kpbrigade im not poor or stupid, and i watch nascar... and arca is basically like how you have minor and major league baseball...

  • @caseyreavis but southpark sais you are, i belive in the media xD

  • Cool fucking flip. When did these guys run at Charlotte?

  • that's not blaise, blaise is in the other car

  • Those guys raisng their hands to cheer. Why are they even there? Are they really buying tickest just in order to see some "really cool crashes"?

  • @d0low0life guess I'm not a "true" fan. this sport gets boring after the 3rd lap.

  • he didnt die

  • @jmw03 the guy in the other car died

  • great name blaise just like the wreck

  • is this why they dont run arca at charlotte anymore?

  • Driver number 75 died i think....

  • Did Blaise Alexander got struck his head?

  • Another great Earnhardt squeeze move started this one too.

  • 0:35 i geuss nascars don't explode that easy

  • Kerry's car had more damage (u can obviously see it flip over), but Blaise ended up being killed...R. I. P. Blaise

  • @setoguchifan16 blaise hit the wall at an angle and kerry car just flipped over and didnt hit anything.

  • WHAT YEAR?

  • @willfryd October 4, 2001

  • @willfryd 2001

  • yay lets all cheer cuz someone died. anyone there tht went "yay a crash!" is an asshole.

  • man thats horible to see someone die raceing like that. i race dirt track and i wish we had the safty stuff these guys have. but i mean his car didnt even look as bad for example. elliot sadler hit the wall head on a few weeks ago and his motor was torn from the car and he walked away with only the breath nocked out of him. i guess when the lord calls you home its your time to go.

  • @pearsonbowhunter well i think of it this way, He died doing what he loved and bet you thats the way he would want to go.

  • @18sux29rox i couldnt agree with you more its just wierd knowing i survive this every week and other ppl dont.

  • @pearsonbowhunter: Safety measures. Let's look back to 2001:

1st: HANS STILL not mandatory (that's WHY it is mandatory)

    2nd: NO SAFER barrier

3rd: NO spotters (or spotters could take a break at any time)

4th: Cars are MUCH safer now

Sadler's Pocono crash would be FATAL in 2002 possibly, but NOT NOW, it's that darn safe!!!

  • @PhilipTheBigOne actually there were spotters for every driver at every race, even in the ARCA series. Just not in practice. What makes you think they had no spotters? And no, if they took a break even to go to the bathroom they were fired on the spot unless it was under caution. The rest of what you say was true, but what you say about the spotters is either a blatant lie or greatly mislead.

  • @erasetoimprove: Listen, I only started watching NASCAR last year (I'm from Europe, we can't see NASCAR where I live), so I was told (in Eric Martin's fatal crash) that there were no spotters at the time... Maybe I'm wrong...

  • @PhilipTheBigOne that's different, Martin's crash was during practice and back then spotters were not mandatory during practice (that is the exact wreck which caused it to be mandatory). This crash was on the last lap of a race.

  • @erasetoimprove: Oh, OK. Thanks for the clarification.

  • @RCR37 Did you film this or was it somebody else?

  • Comment removed

  • the guy that fliped won the Race i belive

  • @99boyz how???????

  • @crazysheltons

the race was called and the #2 went across the scoring loop on his roof

  • @99boyz u sure?

  • guess that was hard racin cant tell from that view either way kerry is better than dale jr juz dont have a hendrick cup car to run the track with

  • What's even sadder is that it involved an Earnhardt (Kerry), even though he wasn't injured.

  • I was there when Blaise died, I am from PA and so was he. My friend at the time knew Blaise very well. They determined later that he died on impact. It was ashame he had a ton of talent as a Arca driver and a bright future ahead.

  • @RCR37 the cheer isnt for the wreck. idk how fans are elsewhere but at charlotte we always cheer when any driver in a wreck gets out of their car safely

so it was probably when the other driver got out

  • @aprilvergogna the two cars made contact and the car on the inside was turned head-on into the outside wall at the fastest part of the track. the othre driver ended up getting flipping by the first car bouncing off the wall... Blaise Alexander, the one who hit the wall head-on, died....

  • Comment removed

  • @andrew24rocks2 he climbs out of his, are you blind or something?

  • @andrew24rocks2 he climbed out of his car, are you fucking blind

  • @andrew24rocks2 Only one person flipped, and he was okay, the other one struck the wall at full speed and was killed on impact.

  • he got the fuck out of there like a black man shoplifting

  • @jeffg24LT21 nice racist comment >.>

  • R.I.P BLAISE we alwasy have an event for you at my paps

  • sad wreck but it was hard racin no ones fault last lap you pay to see them race like this

  • i was at this race and i was sitting right where he hit the wall and this was b4 they had the safer walls he hit right at 190mph and was killed instantly it was very sad u dont go to the races to see ppl get killed but its part of racing

  • This is Blaise...god, new nascar fans suck.

  • @crazeejosh yeah, whenever one of my friends, who are all NASCAR fans, see this wreck they think that Kerry Earnhardt died because he flipped once...i question whether they are actually into NASCRA because flipping is harmless, i did hope Blaise didn't suffer through too much pain though....

  • @SaintBEEP i dont know... i think it was an instant death, but whatever it was, i hope he didnt go through too much pain also.

  • i heard 3 oh shits lol

  • did anyone else hear "Oh shit!" at 0:25

  • RIP BA!

  • my dad works for the craftsman truck series #16 truck brian scott

  • @popjack6 You mean he did work on that team. It closed down after Brian Scott went to the nationwide series over teh offseason.

  • I was spending the weekend at Talladega when we heard about this late Saturday night. The next day, we watched Earnhardt's final cup win. Very sobering for both of them. I love racing so much. I'm sad as hell when ANY driver gets killed.

  • Earnhardt's final win was the fall race of Talladega in 2000....this crash happened in the fall of 2001....after Earnhardt had already been killed at Daytona.

  • Ha, shit, I think you're right. I was at Talladega, but I think I've got my drivers wrong. I thought it was Blaise. Definately someone was killed that weekend. Maybe truck or ARCA, but thanks for the correction.

  • I just did my homework. It was Tony Roper in a truck at Texas. October 12th 2000. That's what we heard. Good catch. Sorry for the error.

  • @ryanofwar87

It obviously wasent in 2001 because it was posted in 08, and the ARCA series dident Exist in 2001 it was originated in 2004

  • @braidengodfrey1 ARCA was founded in 1953, originally as MARC(Midwest Association for Race Cars) and later became ARCA after debuting nationally at Daytona in 1964.

  • @braidengodfrey1 it happen in 2001 and ARCA was made in 1953. some nascar fan you are.

  • @ryanofwar87: The 2 car driver was an Earnhardt. Kerry Earnhardt.

  • Must be a diff wreck this happen in October 2001.

  • I had my drivers mixed up. I was thinking about Tony Roper killed at Texas. My bad.

  • Yeah my mistake I didn't even read your later comments about it.

  • first of all this was in oct 4 2001 blaise alexander 25 and that's when kerry earnhardt was good! we all like the wreck's but is suck when a driver dies!.

  • The crowd was cheering NOT for accident but for Kerry walking away from it. Fans cheer when ANY driver walks away from a cash.

  • your fucking stupid

  • R.I.P, Blaise. Accidents like this have helped us with the new saftey technology, just sucks to see someone have to lose their life for it to happen.

  • which ones blaise the car that flipped or the other one

  • the other one. the flipped one is Kerry Earnhardt the son of Dale Earnhardt. Blaise got knocked out from hitting the side but Kerry got out unharmed. THATS how Blaise died.

  • @AjMannpieWeekly the other one.

  • The other one, a dead man usually doesn't climb out of his car.

  • @werkloosdoorcrisis the person who died hit the wall head on idiot

  • @werkloosdoorcrisis other car dumbass

  • @werkloosdoorcrisis the @2 was Kerry Earnhardt, the other car was #75, Blaise Alexander Jr., Blaise Sr owns a car dealership 1/4th of an hour from where I live, Blaise Jr. was the one who died

  • No Blaise was in the car that hit the wall head on and bounced back, Kerry Earnhardt was in the car that flipped.
