  • I <3 THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I do not like his version!!!!

  • @jrickabaugh10 this version actually grows on you in a short time

  • crawlspace5225, I say there, you are so cute when you get angry.

  • mmmmmmm, no, you put (cover), not original in the title.

  • @The word "original" as it applies in this context refers to the artist(s), NOT THE SONG ITSELF, in order to differentiate from any re-recordings of the song the artist may have made later.

  • @Nocaro I thought the same thing that lyon did, but I like how you proved your point there.

  • @Nocaro You're dumb

  • @Nocaro its still a cover

  • @TheDp321 Yes, it is a "cover' as my comments attached to each post explains whenever it is, but the word "original" is important in the context of what is being posted since it is the "original" version by that artist and not a re-recording of the song by that artist (and there are many of those posted to YouTube). Some covers are equally good and perhaps even better recordings than the original recording of the song.

  • Even thought Frankie is wayyy before my time I love him and his music! It was so sad that he overdosed :;(

  • i am so glad to here this from Frankie . he was abit before my time but i feel like I had a lot in common with him. I am now in recovery hoping to some day be a fictional writer . i have written some songs but there they remain in my scrap book for now.!!

  • i love this song :D

  • This song is so cute!!

  • This song was also in the movie Christine but sung by another group.

  • im just glad i found this song!!! i heard humming versions of it and never knew what it was!!!

  • you know in the uk, we had a uk charts and on a sunday evening you would listen and find out who was number one in the uk singles charts ,,, top of the pops was the tv show wich was shown for 40 years and sadly id no longer around ,,, i wish we had singers like this around today , just to kick the fuck out of the so called singers of today ,,, there are not many ,,, and singers of 50 , 60 years ago could kick there arses today , frankie , without a doubt ..

  • @MrLions49 sorry but someone just sent this to me...now I can't use it!!!! lol

  • Love it sooo much still my fav song EVER.

  • The beginning always makes me feel like i'm about to watch doug

  • i think frankie lymon was like an early michael had he been discovered by motown he surely would have. He was the first with the "dancing" !! watch him live this guy was moving before anyone else. Sadly drugs got to him before motown did :(.

  • It was so sad that all the great 'DO WOP' groups and singers was taking advanage of by recorded companies...with drugs, alcohol etc...There should be more movies about the DO WOP singers and groups and how they were treated and then kick to the curb.

  • TRHERES A MOVIE ABOUIT THIS I LVOE IT

  • You really had to sing back in the day...no auto tone etc...

  • BACK IN THEM GREAT DAYS :)

  • frankie lymon or micheal jackson who's better?

  • best version because this is only one that does the wa wa wa wa wa wa version which makes it stand out from the rest.

  • SO AMAZING

  • Talented kid

  • it was bobby day that first wrote it you guys bobby day :)

  • I was wondering something. Who was the first person or group to sing this? I've heard many different versions, but I want to know who the actual artist is or was.

  • @MizShye Thurston Harris had the first hit with it and was probably the first to record "Little Bitty Pretty One".

  • @Nocaro thank you :)

  • @Nocaro The video info actually says Bobby Day in 1957 then later that year Thurston Harris covered it.

  • @CoronaXVIII I stand corrected...I forgot about Bobby Day's recording, but, of course, the song is most associated with Thurston Harris.

  • @Nocaro Yeah he's the one who took it to #6 =D

  • @Nocaro Frankie Lymon did this in 1960

  • @Nocaro No probably. Thurston Harris WAS the original. Until just now, I didn't know Frankie Lymon COVERED it.

  • @Nocaro thw womman even said it was bobby day who first wrote it read the stuff i kew that ad i am 15 it was bobby day :)

  • @MizShye Bobby Day

  • @MizShye From what ive found Bobby Day was the original sing of "Little Bitty Pretty One"

  • @MizShye it was bobby day that orignaly wrote it

  • @MizShye In the description above it says it was first written and recorded by Bobby Day.

  • Everyone hating on this song, grow up.

  • Frankie Lymon had a natural voice...back then you had to really sing...you brought back so many good thoughts...i was one of the teenagers having such a good time...thanks nocaro.

  • "a version quite similar to Thurston's"

As in a complete copy, adding absolutely nothing and taking away most of Thurston's wildness. And the band sounds like they were in a different room, to boot.

  • perfect voice!

  • i was born in the wrong decade

  • In some pics , Frnkie looks a little like Gary Coleman.

  • @LJH70122 I was thinking the same thing!! lol

  • this guy had real talent, i must say.....

  • This is the version I downloaded off of Limewire over five years ago and it was incorrectly labelled "Jackson 5"! I have been trying to find out who this is for SO LONG. I feel really stupid now.

  • So, the (original) you put next ot the title is wrong.

  • @emmaaum22 The notation of "original" applies only to the artist(s)' recording of the song, not necessarily the "first" time the song was ever recorded by anybody. The reason for doing this is to differentiate this version from re-recordings later on by the same artist. Quite often songs recorded prior to 1962 were originally recorded in mono and then later re-recorded by the same artist in stereo.

  • @Nocaro : I apologize and should have thought of that use of the word myself. I used to run an oldies collectors' shop ownsd by an old friend. With some big songs, we would have maybe 3 versions...a redo, a reissue and for the big spenders, the "original" label (sometimes even that was hard to determine as in a small label who might contract 3 different pressing plants and slight differences in the graphics. To me it was the content that mattered. Thanks for your postings.

  • @Nocaro damn tell him son ;)

  • @Nocaro

Thanks for enlightening on the singing industry of U.S. before 1962 .

  • should've stayed with the teenagers :(

  • love his face in the beginning of the video hahahaha even my dad laughed

  • How does a kid get addicted to heroine by 15 yrs old??

  • @Cornflake420 Most kids are doing it these days. I'm personally against doing any drugs or drinking any type of alcohol, but I know lots of people my age (high school) who do drugs.

  • @Cornflake420 he was introduced to that lifestyle as a child. There is an actual article in ebony that i read that stated that. Its a old issue.

  • OH OH OH OH OH OH OH OH OH OH OH OH OH OH OH!!!!!

  • cara isso é uma raridade!!!! poucos entende isso!

  • voices like that don't exists anymore...

  • Excellent

  • This young man was one of the most amazing voices ever created! I have two sons that can sing I wonder if the get a little training if they can be this good! Lovin Frankie Lymon......

  • Matilda <3

  • luvv u frankie lymon

    rip

  • Frankie's version can rival even Thurston Harris's.

  • Dam, dead at 25... he didnt' get to see any of his life. So sad, I wish he could have been able to kick the drugs. Excellent singer and performer.

  • i love this song.. ! amm imm onlyyy 17 <3

  • Great Frankie, R.I.P.

  • love this song

  • I like the Jackson5/MJ's better.

  • Knowing the story of that child and then listening to his songs makes me feel really sad. Bittersweet is maybe the good word.

  • better than justin biber

  • The way he starts at 0:08 gives me chills ; his voice is so mature for his age. Frankie Lymon is truly one of a kind...

  • frankie lymon and michael jackson are the greatest child stars that ever lived.

  • @SuperJazzymusic Two of the greatest for sure, but the one that really takes the cake was a 12-year old Brenda Lee. I have some early recordings by Brenda at that age which are almost mind-boggling, but unfortunately YouTube won't allow me to post them at the present time because of unresolved copyright issues. Maybe someday, but even when you hear her sing a song like "I'm Sorry" at the tender age of 15, you can get some idea. Thanks for the note...Lanny (Nocaro on YouTube)

  • @Nocaro awww i really wish they would let you upload them. i love old school music and kids that can sing, although this is my first time hearing of her. i would love to hear her, i know she sounds great. :)

  • @Nocaro bro please wont you email me that or something!!! i love that stuff, i live in south africa and its not easy to get that stuff- but yeah i love it.. Pwiti pls with cherry ontop :D

  • @Nocaro Did you know that SAMMY DAVIS was singing & DANCING as a very young boy. He was one of the most talented Human Beings. He was just amazing! He acted, sang, danced & HE was the fasted Quick-draw ever known!!

  • @SuperJazzymusic Don't forget Stevie Wonder :)

  • @DeishaGuy oops you are right. Stevie wonder is also an amazing artist. :)

  • @SuperJazzymusic what about justin beiber???

  • @SuperJazzymusic what about shirley temple?

  • @something1963 her to

  • yes he can sing his you know off, but he is no kid any more , but back in the day he was one of a kind and back in the day, they song with heart and soul and with meaning and with love, its hard to the same today, they dont care anymore for anything,

  • Sometimes they burn young and fast. However the talent was sublime.

  • @Weblas0 did they know him personally?

  • @Weblas0 Well, Frankie came along several years before Motown was even created, and his singing career was on the ropes by the time Motown got going. The guy that Motown recruited and I wish he had come but did not was Jackie Wilson who happened to be a good friend of Berry Gordy before Gordy started Motown.

  • hey does anybody else think the Frankie Lymon looks like Gary Coleman?

  • @KDJAM7 yes, very much so.

  • @KDJAM7 yes I does!

  • mann he good ass. R.I.P

  • AWESOME VOCALS THIS KID HAD!!!! WATCHED THE MOVIE LAST NIGHT, HAD TO LOOK UP HIS MUSIC!!!!! LOVE THIS ERA, SO MUCH FUN!!!

  • Just recently realize what a standard this song is... Just saw The Doobie Brothers do it, and Huey Lewis and the News do it. Not a complicated song, obviously. But a happy, hip shaking song. Makes people happy. Doobies injected a full step up key change into it. Lengthened it a little. So great a song! Simple but absolutely mood elevating. We need more of these.

  • hearing this music reminds me why I hate 2011 so much.

  • I've loved these gentlemen, and other performers of my parents' generation for as long as I can remember. I am 23 and am ashamed of almost every modern "musician". There are a few who are good, even great, buy they are the exception. The melody is wonderful, vocals are superb! No lewd dancing to gain attention or distract; no controversial clothing; and musicians then SMILED when they performed. They didn't scowl the entire time, because it was the "cool" thing to do. Just honest talent and joy.

  • 2 people are racist.

  • definately the best version

  • @nical17 hell no Thurston Harris is the best man!!

  • The harmony is perfect, and Frankie's voice is full, rich, mature and unbelieveably, belongs to a 13 year old!

  • If Justin Bieber sang like this, I would listen, just sayin'...

  • love this and frankie and the gang ,i am 42 years old , i have two children boy 22 and girl 16 and they love this as well as modern , but they also understand that there is no comparison today with music fof 40 50 years ago , they were much more talented in the past , .............

  • Frankie Lymon...legend..class..legacey...RIP and an angels voice...

  • Man Why do fools fall in love gave me a unwavering respect for this man and his talent because he had it man, his music lives forever as long as I breath and aint no body perfect, thats for the fucking haters!

  • i dont know why but i always hum why do fool fall in love when i stop singing this one

  • Thanks Stephen King! or, John Carpenter, amazing song that I should have known

  • i would always hum this song in school and when i stop singing it i would want to sing it again but end up humming why do fools fall in love strange huh

  • Frankie didnt die, God wanted singing lesson's!!!!

  • Why is there always one asshole who dislike this song!?!?!

  • @flamingVids - Because they think they are cool when they are blatantly not!

  • Was this song in the movie christine the car movie

  • HOW COULD PPL BE RACIST I MEAN HERE THIS GREAT VOICE AND THIS IS JUST ONE THERES MORE

  • anyone seen the movie... why do fools fall in love???

  • @mybabemokopuna5 yea i watched it jus yesterday

  • This song is amazing!

  • TALENT

  • one person is a reject of society

  • There is one person out there who hates life... and doesn't know good music when they hear it. unless they pressed dislike because they think they song should have been longer. in which case, i agree.

  • Frankie Lymon was Small in Size but he was Huge in Talent.

  • hmmhhm hmm hmm hmmm

    oho oho oh oh

  • LET ME REMIND EVERYONE, THAT YOUNG KIDS LIKE THIS WILL NEVER BE AROUND TODAY. AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE HE FREAKIN MADE A HOT HIT!!!

FORGET CHRIS BROWN, JUSTIN BUM AND EVERYONE ELSE.

THIS KID HAD THE MOVES AND MATURITY SO YOUNG YOU COULD WISH HE WAS YOUR YOUNGER BROTHER OR SON! LMAO.

  • @DaLocKer23 ummm well he was a sort of man-hoe and he did drugs
