found it surprising that you had the Feed in breaker switched off in the day time with the beaker on it would stop the building utility meter from moving forward if the solar or wind power was making more power then what you are using (but i guess your using this as an backup system instead of lower your power bills)
It's simple alright... but MASSIVE! Until I can find/get that much battery, the grid can keep storing our power. Oh, and thanks again for the lock collars and washers. Installed them today! (v=EBrxv2XoFzg)
@jeffmolly1 I think so. So far, so good. Ironically enough, the wind really started blowing later in the evening for a short time and it worked really well!
Jeff, great bank for sure, but I had a couple of questions... Back a couple of years ago, you suggested always dumping the batteries along with the turbines, so that the load was constant. So I was curious why this setup was different in that respect. The other question is in re-guard to the outback GVFX, mine when it goes into equalize mode, causes my charge controller to see the batteries at more than full charge 28.8 volts, and starts dumping the bulk charge to the batts, to the dump load.
Jeff, The solar voltage coming into your Outback looks too low. At 28.8volts it is barely achieving the absorbtion voltage that you need. Surely it would be better to series your panels up to say nominal 48 volts which would bring in about 60 volts in full sun. This would give the outback a bigger and better window for MPPT tracking. I believe this is all detailed in the comprehensive book that comes with an outback
@Striding888 Your right about that. Were installing some new higher voltage panels panels . I was told that about 80 volts would be best, what do you think?
Hey Jeff , how much It's gone cost to stay off the grid with one of your setup? I'm talking about the system ?!?!?.. including the batteries.. I already know they are 1k per piece... What about turbines, solar panels etc....
@WickedWindandSolar I will be taking the utility companies meter out soon and tossing it in the road where it belongs. I had thought about the indian war dance and hitting it with a tomahawk BUT, i think that the electric company would have me arrested or say it's worth $1000.00 or something like that.
That is correct on the rubbing, mines bigger than yours LOL.
Eat my heart out, you suck._LOL That's one hell of a batt bank and the amp hours are what all us DIY's all want, so I'll have to watch the vid a lot to see the wire setup. Say did you just slap me ? HEY EVERYONE, JEFF SLAPPED ME_LOL, thanks Jeff for your vid's_Billy
@TheBillythekid2010 I thought for this special occasion i would get out a NEW wife beater shirt and dress up a little.Got to look professional and all.

Why do you need divert loads with a grid tie inverter. Wouldnt you just be putting power back up the pole if you have too much.

if you needed batteries jeff I wish you would have emailed me. I' always game for trading for solar panels and wind turbines for my batteries.
