  • Way to ruin a good engine

  • You are stupid the 6.5 is not a duramax not even remotely close to being one it's a detroit always has been always will be look it up know your facts before you talk and if you aren't sure ask a diesel mechanic like me

  • thats quite distasteful, poor guy didnt stand a chance

  • you fucking asshole! those 6.5L Turbo Duramax deisels are amazing engines.. >:(

  • @MXJohnHMX1 thats a detroit not a duramax

  • @Ebaum744 it is a Duramax 6.5 L Turbo deisel man.. Trust me, I know..

  • @MXJohnHMX1 get your shit straight duramax was the successor to the detroit diesels provided for chevy and gmc, they started out as the 6.2 IDI diesel, then they turbo'd the 6.2 for about 2 years when they had the 6.5's out available mostly in turbos but offered N/A as well, duramax didn't make an appearance until 2001 and it was 6.6L, just shy of 403 CID, do some research first

  • @Ebaum744 NO dumbass they made the 6.5 L Durmax turbo deisel in the early 1990s! never available N/A 1990s was the appearance! DUH!!

  • i take you are a ford man bcuz youre blowin up a chevy.....if u are a ford guy then right on!

  • why would u waist a perfectly good motor wtf

  • @my1990silverado pefectly good motor my ass, more like perfectly good boat anchor

  • Wait. If they are good engines then shouldn't there be no bugs to work out?

  • 6.5s are damn good motors. people are just too stupid to fix the bugs outta them. id have glady taken this motor for parts... durrr

  • Why those are good motors?

  • I'm looking to buy a truck like this

  • retards..

  • diesel smells like ass

  • step one put key in

    step two start it

step three....... never mind it step 2 was enough.

  • WHY?

  • u guys r fuckin retarded

  • Dislike times a million

  • FUCKIN JUNK ASS 6.5 DIE DIE

  • I can almost see the truck.

  • did you record this with a potato?

  • Well its a chevy its normal if they blow

  • No they only international is they 7.3 the rest are all ford motors

  • @427patrick so thats why you have to call international to get parts for 6.0 a 7.3 is not the only motor made by them, i bet why its not as comonly known is they suck

  • @427patrick the 7.3, 6.0, 6.4 are international sourced engines, new 6.7 is a Ford only motor

  • how to blow up a 6.5 turbo diesel? Start it up...it won't be long/

  • The really easiest way is to put gasoline in it instead of Diesel.

  • all ford motors except the new scorpion engine is international navistar made

  • The 6.0 is made by Navistar (International).

  • this should be how to blow up a 6.5 turbo diesel (run it )

  • @supramanz If you treat em right and dont do alot of plowin, they last good. They like to tow.

  • 6.5L just fail on their own. Ive helped rebuild countless 6.5's. They suck.

  • sounds like my kind of college class

  • Detroit Diesel used to make these old Chevy Truck diesel's hehe

  • neighbours from hell !!!

  • Video should be called "How to be gay".

  • thts just wrong

  • why? I mean really a diesel? i know it is a chevy but really?

  • Just let the instructor's wife drive it for a while...that 's real world testing.

  • when you buy a new motor, see if they can throw in a microphone for your camera

  • quit complaing you dont want a 6.5 because they are junk im trying to blow mine up so i can put a 350 in it so i dont have anymore problems right now i need glow plugs my brand new injection pump sucks and i need a new lift pump after 3 months so you dont want one of these

  • I could use the turbo and intake and exhaust manifolds

  • im a ford man all the way but this was uncalled for

  • look at the body almost no rust.

  • There is a easyier way then that it's called somebody drains your oil at night and on you way to work it blows up.

  • getrdone bubba

  • what the fuck was the point of this honestly i would have loved this truck

  • @silver1fangs I agree I am poor a shit right now, and a nice diesel truck would be great..

  • STUPID !!!

  • whats the name of that class? blowshitup 101?

  • couldn't have thought of a better use for a 6.5 myself! nice work!

  • it went longer than i expected to

  • hey my 6.5l is great i out pulled a 7.3l with no problem and i hauled a cummins dually and my truck didnt have ne troubles and could still get to 60 pretty quick and all its got is a turbo upgrade, pump turned up, and stacks

  • A Duramax, late model 5.9, or late model 7.3. All of my OBS chevys were 7.4L gassers because they pull better than the 6.5 and less trouble. Now I have 2 Duramax and a 6.0 Vortec all 2500HD's. they all work good, but the 6.0 is up for replacement soon.

  • @DanEdwardsMusic Whats the gas milage for the 6.0 in the 2500? I heard it isn't that great.

  • @crazywarriorman I'm not sure exactly, probably 12/14 avg. My Duramax averages about 17-18 unloaded, lots of stop n go, cold starts, etc. The diesel's shine underload.

  • what a waist a nice truck that could have been used to beat on, take it off a jump next time

  • Is this at Wyotec?

  • i have an easier way to blow a 6.5. just use it.

  • @schrankm yes

  • @schrankm fuck you

  • @chevy966 looks like 27 people agree. :)

  • @chevy966 yes, your mom sure does.

  • @schrankm This truck is ready to blow at the start of vid. thats a chevy.

  • @schrankm

Yes, they came from the factory with a rod hanging out the block.

  • @schrankm YES!!!!!! Just get it hot!!!

  • @104trucker if it runs long enough to get hot.

  • @schrankm Amen. I blew up two 6.2Ls. The first one blew pulling out of the driveway at a breakneck speed of 5 mph while carrying a bag of sand in the bed. The other blew up doing 50 on the highway carrying nothing but myself. True workhorses, they are.

  • Must be one of those learning impaired classes. Bunch of LOSERS ! Good news for all of you is Wal-Mart is hiring!

  • wow, that's what I call scientifical study. we're gonna get much more fenomenal engineers. lol

  • lol, 6.5 is such a good motor.....oh well, but you know how you really kill one of these, tear up the turbo oil seal, and overfill it with oil, itss run on its own crank oil till it lets a rod go

  • description is inconsistent with the video, it does not any how show how to blow up a diesel, rather this video should be titled diesel blowing up. I see you went to college to learn something, learning how to destroy machines and use the english language to fool ppl. You sir are a failure

  • I like how you used the word 'testing' in your description... as if there were actaully some skill invlolved.. haha

  • yup, stronger than you think they are! There are 2 6.5's that were traded in on cash for clunkers, one of never did blow up even after a gallon of sodium sillicate and full throttle

  • @scott93257 I would've killed him to, but but that cummins wouldn't blow up, it would still be running to this day lol

  • @UncleBubbles94

    Oh yeah...Cummins are indestructible... :)

  • @scott93257 why?

  • @TRuEGaMingPS3

    Not truly...Ahh hell I like chevies...I own a 65 C 20

  • @scott93257 if it were a cummins, it wouldn't of crunk up.

  • @Runkleforskin

LOL true.. I think the Duramax is an Isuzu diesel really isn't it?

the Fords are International I believe... But a big Cummins woulda crunk up for sure.. "crunk" LOL I like that word

  • @scott93257 they only ford diesel motor that is a International is they 7.3

  • @427patrick

    That's right

  • @427patrick No the 6.0L and the 6.4L are International Motors too

  • Horrible quality!

  • Ok Chadwickflower explain why there shit???

  • the easiest way to blow up a 6.5 is to drive it normal...they are shit engines

  • I had a 98 Chevy dually 6.5 for 2 weeks. The biggest piece of Shit I have ever owned

  • @woodzo40 I think they were hit and miss.

i know two guys who were super impressed with 6.5's and some people have nothing but complaints. i drove two and they both drove fine. not racecars but never were built for that

  • Never thought a 6.5 would make it this long, even with oil

  • GAY !!!

  • wow ran for a while there, wonder if any other diesel's would be able to do that?

  • that thing need oil badly

  • @SPB282008 Naah, I would trust them with my truck. These seem like pretty trustworthy guy's!

  • Got mechanic coming=GMC

    General makes crap=GMC

  • haha i would of just poored oil down the intake tube and make it act like a run away or cut off the oil feed to the turbo and directly inject it thru the intake tube to make a real run away happen!

  • @tobysteve22 yea ok so even the crappiest motor can have a couple that last my buddy has one with about that on it but it wasn't cheap for him to maintain he has had cracked blocks like it's a common issue like oil changes same with feul injectors i would take the ford 6.0l any day over these garbage 6.2l and 6.5 at least they fixed the 6.0 problems in 2004

  • @tobysteve22 What ever makes you feel better, besides the crappy 5.7 diesel those 6.2's were the biggest dogs on the face of the earth. They lastest a long time but were only good for mileage and basically pushing the vehicle it was in. We have had 6 Tritons and never ever blew a spark plug or had any issues for that matter, the same goes with my friends and my dad. I don't ever see any 6.2's around anymore, I wonder why??? Sorry but Ford is the only one who can build their own diesel (new 6.7).

  • 6.5. diesel is crap compared to other diesels.. However, it's still better than a gas engine when you work the shit out of it.. 6.5. diesel has good power.. The problem with them is they have no life.. I had 1 that did 180 plus before it blew.. Most of the start having problems around 90-120 thousand. The fuel injector pump gos bad every 30 thousand or so.. at 1500 dollars a pop.

  • Chevy cant make a diesel thats why Isuzu does it for them

  • @2003m36sp you dont know shit... the only company that actually owns their own diesel is ford... dodge doesnt own or even control cummins and same goes for gm they dont own or run duramax its not just chevy fag.. its called contracts dodge and gm have them with cummins and isuzu

  • @natep246 But see dodge knows they cant make a diesel you dumb shit so they have a contract with Cummings diesel. Unlike chevy with there 6.2L that is a chevy 350 stroked engine with modified heads same with the 6.5L.

  • @2003m36sp your a fuckin retard.. chevy didnt make those motors.. the 6.2 and 6.5 are detroit diesels and gm had a contract with detroit to put them in there light duty trucks... get your facts straight fuck head

  • @natep246 They where built out of Detroit Diesel Division of General Motors smart ass they put them in there trucks knowingly that they were pieces of shit just to get in the diesel market enough said shit head

  • @2003m36sp The 6.5 motor's were actually very good motor's. They were not the most powerful diesel's, but they were tough, dependable and have been know to last many miles. Why the us army still uses them in there humvee's. The 6.5's are still used in boat's as wel..

  • @CSXtrackworker The army does still use them getting like 3mpg (great one guys but they do look sick) but they may be the same motor but they are setup differently the gearing is different they are slow on the high way they don't go faster then 65 thus creating less heat which means they last longer but they still have the same issue.

  • @2003m36sp Yeah, I knew they were set up differently. With a few mod's, such as marine injector's, relocateing the pmd and a few other's they can be reliable motor's. We had a few at work that topped 300,000 and were still going strong when they traded em in on new truck's. I friend of mine has 333,000 on his 6.5 and it still run's very decent.

  • @CSXtrackworker i have two of them sitting in my back yard like lawn ornaments with about 110k on one with no engine about 155k on the other she needs work and a lot of time such as fuel injectors as well as a cracked block and heads the one with 155k i got new and always had problems with so i bought the older one for parts but got tired of trying to keep her running they were beat but so were the fords we own and there still running one a 6.9 diesel and the other a 7.3 diesel

  • @2003m36sp Well, I can't speak for all the 6.5's. Sound's like you had the shit end of the stick with your's. All I can say is that the one's we ran at work and my friend's, performed well. The 6.9& the 7.3 are good motor's. I see alot of guy's putting turbo's on their 6.9's now and some other mod's& really makeing them perform. They are not the most powerful diesel's, but they still do today what they were designed for.

  • @CSXtrackworker my friend has a chevy with the 6.2 and it has 500,000 miles and its still going

  • @tanksor the 6.2 diesel is way more reliable than the 6.5 (POS) however, neither where made for towing, but the 6.2 is a great engine

  • @tanksor the 6.2 diesel is way more reliable than the 6.5 (POS) however, neither where made for towing, but the 6.2 is a great engine

  • @qwertyz6789 the 6.5 is a bored and stroked 6.2 with a turbo, lower compression and upgraded internals. they use the same block castings. the problem with the 94-96 6.5s was the Electronic PMD was prone to overheating and failure. the 92-93 and 97-current 6.5s are great engines, in fact, the 6.5 is whats used in Military Humvees

  • @ColtCobra2002 alright before you get all excited about the 6.5 diesel engine, the military usage for the 6.5 is called the OPTIMIZER. Which if you'd do some research you'd find that the optimizer has stronger crankshafts and better cooling and injectors. That's why the 6.5 is viewed highly by some, and this is the best 6.5 engine made, but it cost 3-4K more than a stock. That money could be put towards any engine of your liking. Your resulting options: Bad Ass Cummins, PSD, or Dmax but not 6.5

  • @qwertyz6789 this may be true, but I can take a 6.2 or 6.5 and fill it up and when a D-Max, PSD or Cummins is at the station buying $3.00+ a gallon diesel, I'll still be ticking right along,

my company truck is a 93 C2500HD with the 6.5 and 210K on the factory motor and Injector Pump, altho it is on its 3rd 4L80 and it averages 21 on the road, and thats grumbling along at 85mph

  • @ColtCobra2002 and it can't pull shit...

  • @DanEdwardsMusic we've used it to pull our Dresser 515B Front End Loader since it was new. Its done the job well enough for 17 years, what more can you ask for?

  • @CSXtrackworker compared to the diesels today. look at the advances in technology. these are still Indirect injection if im not mistaken. so of course to todays diesels they seem 'gutless'

  • @mrtaterman These truck's never seemed gutless to me. I have driven the truck's that had these motor's in em at my job and I love them. People give these motor's a bad rap and with a few changes these are dependable, and with some mod's you can boost there torque& hp. I like em for what they are.

  • @CSXtrackworker they seem gutless to todays diesels, cuz that is what they are comparing them to. of course when u compare them to 400hp 800ftlbs powerstroke it will seem gutless in comparison. but they are not gutless.

  • @mrtaterman You got that right my friend! Why I refuse to get a diesel. Will only buy vortec power'd silverado's. All I buy. Everybodyhas a diesel now and juiced up to the max. If I were to buy a diesel, it would be the old 6.5 turbo! To me that are great diesel's. They lasted us for over 10 years at work, and many were retired with over 350,000 on em.

  • @CSXtrackworker diesels are sweet dont get my wrong, but now a days these teenagers use them to look cool. my vortec 350 in my gmc sierra is all i need. and i would rather have a big block than a diesel. the obs chevy/gmc trucks are the best looking year(s) in my opinon.

  • @mrtaterman You have got that right about the teen's& the diesel's. Everybody has them now, which is another reason why I wont buy them. I would much rather have my 5.3 v-8 over a diesel, unless it was an old 6.5 diesel. This truck does what I ask it to, perform's well and so forth. Couldn't ask for a better truck!

  • @CSXtrackworker hell ya!

  • @2003m36sp what about the 6.6

  • @kinghowie8 it's had it's share of problems

  • Should have sold it to the military. The sales add could have been " The new military Chevy diesel, comes with front mounted smoke screen and noise confusion system, when the enemy thinks your truck is broke, it is but the smoke alows you to get away " For Sale 1.35 billion each

  • My mom's 6.2L Diesel has 450,000km on it with no motor work ever done to it and still gets 23mpg..can a powerstroke guy or newer diesel owner say that?? I highly doubt it, and the '93 6.5L got me 28mpg constant and never had any problems so really, they're not a bad built motor, it just depends how ya run them

  • @farmrboi134

    450,000km is barely over 250,000mi.....wow.

  • I'd love to blow up a 6.5 like this, just for fun, seeing the wimpy parts fly out of this terribly designed diesel engine!

  • @KB3MMX detriots are one of the most common engines found in semi's why? because there one of the most bullet proof diesels ever produced along with cummins.. your a douche bag you dont know shit... i bet you dont even know how a motor even works yet alone a diesel motor fag

  • Comment removed

  • @natep246

You must be some young smart ass because apparently you are clueless. The 6.5 and 6.2 motors have NO similarity to a 6 cylinder online 60 series, if you even knew what a 60 series is anyway. You have a lot to learn before you open your mouth and put your foot right in it.

  • WHAT A BUNCH OF MORONS!!!!!!! AND YOU ARE GOING TO CLASS FOR THIS????? WELL ITS NO WONDER WHY THIS COUNTRY IS GOING IN THE TOILET. THANKS FOR SHOWING HOW STUPID YOU ARE!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Plug the wastegate and give it fuel, make it push 25 psi of boost, it will blow up i promise.

  • @Hotrodx199 Right on, and it won't take very long. Blow one of those wimpy gas engine type connecting rods or junk pistons right out of the block, lol .....if the block doesn't crack first as they notoriously do...

  • why?

  • what a waste of a good engine at least we know its better than a power smoke those dont even last 2 seconds wide open

  • and how long it would take?

  • At my school we have a 95 Lumina with 68 miles on it, it was donated to us brand new from the factory for the same reason, since now were tired of it and it keeps getting in the way and we're not aloud to sell it, thanks to me it has now been turned into a demolition derby car and then we'll scrap it after. It's gotta be the most mint condition derby car ever!

  • no back in 1993 was the good year for the 6.5 those truck went and lasted a long time. we have one at work with 575k miles on it and no promblems.

  • In my diesel class we have a spare 6.5 we are going to blow up too!

  • btw for a faster way to blow-it. drain the oil, let the engine heat-up, pour salt in the crank-case then add water. should seize in seconds.

  • 6.5s were garbage engines anyway. must of been fun.

  • you know what would've been a quicker and easier way to blow it up? turn the fuel rack all the way up and let er run away.....I bet there would've been parts all over the place then...

  • you couldve sold off the parts....theres always a market for spares....then crush the shell etc...cars are worth more dead than alive...in bits rather than whole...

  • we couldnt sell the parts because it was giving to us by the truck dealer ship, and it was a truck that didnt meet the standerds to sell on the lot, so he ethier had to donate it to a school or crush it, so thats why we blowed up the motor, other wise im sure the parts woulda been sold if he could have

  • my school does that too, but we dont blow em up, we work on em

    we got 2 new musstangs

but im mean similar by either donated then when done they need to b crushed

  • @dieselclass Yeah when I was in votec we had to destroy everything that was gave to us...When I graduated we cut up 3 cars none of them had more the 50 miles on them and that was just going in and out of the doors lol.

  • @turtlezed when gm donates a car the school is not allowed to use any parts from it on a vehicle that is going to be used on the road

the whole vehicle is condemmed even if there is nothing wrong with it

the school has to sign a waver

  • that was cool

  • To me that actually seems pretty damn good considering you drained the oil out of it and it still ran for a little over 2 minutes at a high RPM.Try that with a Stroke.

  • yeah a 6 Liter powerstroker would last 15 seconds...haha

  • @GearHead156 6 liter powerstroke HEUI would quit running once the oil was gone...unfortunately

  • @yoter10 powerstroke wouldn't even start without oil,

    HEUI

    hydraulic, electronic, unit , injector

  • you gonna rebuild it for diesel class?

  • no it was just one that was heading to the crusher, and we wanted to have some fun before we towed it off

  • Now that would be fun !! The 6.5's were real pieces of crap !!

  • yep, we got bored in our diesel class over at the college, so we drained the oil and held it to the ground and let it go

  • @dieselclass drained the oil haha should have put tons of sugar in the fuel tank and tried it that way

  • @dieselclass wyotech isn't college, its tech school.

  • @dieselclass woulda been cooler if you overfilled it...still awesome, wish school here was that much fun...

  • @dieselclass youre lame... lol at you hick mother fuckers

  • oh yeah they were real heaps, almost as bad as the ford 6litres lol

  • screw you gear head i have a 1993 gmc dually with the 6.5 in it and it has 357 thousand on the original motor n tranny still going stron so go stroke of a ford you piece of shit

  • Your so fuckin full of shit kid. they were junk engines. Everyone knows that, Ask an GOOD Mechanic. See their response. They were gutless , weak hunks of scrap. period. Retire that heap, everyone is laughing at you! :D

  • @KB3MMX

What are you talking about, the 6.5 was one of the best American diesels ever made.

  • @SakoTGrimes

    Lol
