I've got a question: why are firewire notebooks rare and expensive, and at the same time laptops with expresscard slots, , are much more cheaper but also able to connect a firewire-expresscard with the same quality as a"normal" firewire connection???

er, dont you have a firewire port on your computer? time to upgrade... we're already working with eSATA these days...

laptop usually don't come with firewire port. In that case you will have to buy a firewire adapter...

The latest Macbooks from apple are shipping without firewire for some absurd reason. After being the early adopters of it they are now trying to steer more towards USB
