I just don't understand why whether Frida was Mexican the movie is not spoken in Spanish!?, I mean I'm Mexican and I'm proud of my language and also of this amazing surralist artist
Salma Hayek should've won the Oscar for this. This was the year Nicole Kidman won for "The Hours" which the only thing she does in that movie is look ugly. But I guess the Academy is more about letting the popular white girl win than the Latin girl in the less known movie.
If people cant like this movie I think the reason would be that the person simply doesnt have the mind to enjoy this. I havent seen this but honestly the story of Frida should be an excellent watch. Cummon people this is a real movie unlike the 2d bullshit we got today
itzdont matter wat race u r u still can play apart of sumthin. they had 2 find da close person luk lyke frida n salam did give race a chance to become sumthing of themseld. stop puttin other down if it was ur Azz kukillmatic1113 u would want some1 2 say gud thing bout u i lkye salam hayek
Haven't seen the film yet, but I plan to soon!! I am really interested in Frida ... going off the trailer I can only say I wish it was in Spanish (for the most part), it would seem more authentic.
Underrated film with a powerful performance by Salma Hayek, great cast with Alfred Molina, Ashley Judd, Edward Norton, Valeria Golino, Diego Luna & Geoffrey Rush. Salma should've gotten an Oscar for it.
this movie is truly amazing..its a real life story of a woman who fought against all odds and lived on her own terms...its not some blown up fictional nonsense but the true life of a brilliant artist....how can anyone not like it
Hello Guys! I am looking for the name of a movie ( I think it's foreign movie) about a painter who is contracted to paint a family, but then he discovers things about a dead boy son of the mother who tries to hide it...anyone can help me which movie is that? I think there's winter in the middle of the name! Thanks
For Hayek to have made this film was as courageous as when Beatty made "Reds". These folks do us all an important service by keeping the memory of heroic individuals alive, individuals whose example of dedication to social justice and art most of us can never hope to emulate. Brava!
IDIOTS KNOW NI USETEDES, SALMA fought hard to this movie,
WE ASK ALA PROMOTER OF Frida Kahlo who have known When I was little, SALMA DID GOOD AND LOOKS LIKE, she replied, PERFECT, exactly, IS A PART IN THE ONE THAT IS LIKE took off his cap they look.
jajajajaja blazed Frida Kahlo was the most famous woman in the world of painting, his paintings traveled throughout the world, met Piebald, also the only good and talented American painter Jackson Pollock ventured to say neither I nor CAN PAINT WITH DIEGO RIVERA COURAGE, beauty and perfection as Frida Kahlo DOING.
OR YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE FILM IDIOTS, SALMA played the role, THE DEVELOPER OF FRDIA Khaled as a young girl I met, I will ask HOW DID YOU SALMA, she replied, PERFECT, exactly, IS A PART WHERE SHE TAKES OFF THE CAP, WHICH ADECUENTA I see it.

god those stupid pictures piss the shit outta me. Who the ef would want to watch a fucking trailer if stupid paintings keep on blocking the fucking scene? WORSE TRAILER EVER MADE.
@sinsenest .......you do realize the movie is about a painter and her paintings alot no?..if you're expecting something like a handsome badass jumping over an exploding boat shooting a mafia boss all while riding a motorcycle or something, this is the wrong movie for you I think lol.
every critic with a good reputation reviewed this film without reviewing salma's performance. the strangest phenomenon in film criticism was started with the release of this flick.
When I was about 8 years old, my grand-mother took me to an exhibition of Rivera/Kahlo... I thought it was beautiful and touching but didn't quite understood everything.
Yesterday I saw the movie (with Salma Hayeck as Frida) and I cried so much! Her acid sense of humour and the beauty of her paintings touched my heart deeply.
how can any one say this movie is stupid. it is someones life that touched so many at different levels. people talk about the unibrow and how ugly diego truly was. what frida saw was someone that loved her inspite of her deformity. she never saw him as ugly or handsome just a person who was non judgmental and therefore she was not of him inspite of his infidelity. I think she was truly hurt when he started an affair with her sister.
When I was taking my GCSE O levels in art a few years ago, my artist reference was Frida kahlo because she is the one artist who i can relate to emotionally and spiritually. She revolutionized modern art and style of self portraits. Salmah Hayek did a fantastic job playing Frida. If you think her eyebrows are "weird" i suggest you get off your bum and go do some research.
@fear2tread79 i watch nascat and drink beer but i also think this movie is very good..salma hayek performance and directing is best parts in this movie..my favorite role from her with lonely hearts killers..here she is warm strong souled woman and lonely hearts movie cold and broken minded..great actor..i just hope she would get more chanses on great roles..i first time get to know fridas painting now when i watch this movie and its just in my taste
