Well, to be more precise, Zhang Fei asked 10-30 horses' tails to be tied up with logs and boulders. Then he orders a couple of soldiers to make the horse run back and forth behind the small hill to create dust. He then went on his own to confront Cao. Since the dust is rising high, Cao and his advisers reckon Zhuge decides to lure them in for the ambush hence they legged it.
Cao Cao's generals, they might be as good as the Five Tigers in duel, but they are much better at wars in general. My favor is Zhang Liao, he command 800 soliders and defeat Sun Quan's 200,000 people army, thats real skill and much much more important winning a duel. Of course, Cao Cao is one of the great general himself, he is one of the best strategist in Chinese History.
Liu Bei does have good generals in strategies wise. Take this clip for example...one man driving back 100,000 men. Guan Yu defeated Pang De and a lot of Wu generals until Lu Xun comes in. Huang zhong in battle of mt ding jun slayed Xiahou Yuan. Pang Tong... nuff said. Cao Cao is known as one of the best wicked man not strategist in Chinese history. If he is so good he wouldnt have defeated by Zhuge Liang in so many occasions.
it is said that cao cao was as skilled as zhuge but he was just too cautious. if cao cao really did have no skill then his kingdom wouldnt have been the strongest.
You have to remember that his kingdom is strongest because he usurped the throne thus controlling the vast army. Furthermore, he capture lots of Yuan Shao's troops and resources. We can see that Zhuge Liang is better than him because of the defeat in Chibi, the fact that his army outnumbers wu and shu combined. He also fell into all the traps that Zhuge Liang set for him on his escape from Chibi
Cao Cao has good leadership and charm lol. Men would willing to die for him. Just look at Cuba president. Iraqi president like ex Saddam etc.
In this video I think Cao Cao lack strategies to aid him in capturing Zhange Fei... they could easily defeat him either by taunt to lure him out or use long range arrows. : D

Its wrong for you to say that a single person cannot make much of a difference. Take the battle of Guan Du where Cao Cao Vs Yuan Shao. Guan Yu charged their 100k men and slay Wen Chou and Yan Liang. That makes 100k men retreat despite Cao Cao forces is highly outnumbered. And all thanks to 1 man. Guan Yu.

Wow, CaoCao never missed Dian Wei more than in this encounter. He would have taken Zhang Fei on, the army would have known there was no ambush and then proceeded to kill Fei and hunted down Liu Bei before he could escape.
Wtf were Xu Chu , Xiahou Dun, and Zhang Liao doing? they were all there in this battle, according to the novel.

btw everyone it is quite hard to learn what actually happened in ancient china, all we know is that were the battles and the names that live long unto this day. there are lots of different accounts dating from the three kingdoms age which conflict with each other claiming different ideeas, this is perhaps what happened but it is ,as i said, hard to find what happened to every single detail. Well to be more precise, these "rumours" come from Guan Yu when he slayed Wen Chou and Yan Liang. He told Cao that it is a piece of cake and even his brother Zhang Fei could do it. Since then Cao orders his army to make a note and be cautious of Zhang Fei.

zhuge liang told liu bei that a few thousand elite soldiers can defeat cao cao 1 million men. war cannot be rely on juz numbers, rem that romans always like to fight their enemy with fewer numbers than their opponent but mostly wins. who has the strongest army of 3 kingdoms is very hard to predict.

Zhang became a good strategist towards the end of the tale. He fooled Cao here by having horsemen drag logs to stir up dust. It gives the illusion that there are more of Shu's soldiers than there really are.

Well, to be more precise, Zhang Fei asked 10-30 horses' tails to be tied up with logs and boulders. Then he orders a couple of soldiers to make the horse run back and forth behind the small hill to create dust. He then went on his own to confront Cao. Since the dust is rising high, Cao and his advisers reckon Zhuge decides to lure them in for the ambush hence they legged it.

Cao Cao's generals, they might be as good as the Five Tigers in duel, but they are much better at wars in general. My favor is Zhang Liao, he command 800 soliders and defeat Sun Quan's 200,000 people army, thats real skill and much much more important winning a duel. Of course, Cao Cao is one of the great general himself, he is one of the best strategist in Chinese History.

Liu Bei does have good generals in strategies wise. Take this clip for example...one man driving back 100,000 men. Guan Yu defeated Pang De and a lot of Wu generals until Lu Xun comes in. Huang zhong in battle of mt ding jun slayed Xiahou Yuan. Pang Tong... nuff said. Cao Cao is known as one of the best wicked man not strategist in Chinese history. If he is so good he wouldnt have defeated by Zhuge Liang in so many occasions.

You have to remember that his kingdom is strongest because he usurped the throne thus controlling the vast army. Furthermore, he capture lots of Yuan Shao's troops and resources. We can see that Zhuge Liang is better than him because of the defeat in Chibi, the fact that his army outnumbers wu and shu combined. He also fell into all the traps that Zhuge Liang set for him on his escape from Chibi

In this video I think Cao Cao lack strategies to aid him in capturing Zhange Fei... they could easily defeat him either by taunt to lure him out or use long range arrows. : D

I dont agree, true, Liu Bei's generals are better in personal combat, especially the Five Tigers and Wei Yan, but in a battle involving thousands, even million of people, a single person, doesnt matter how strong they are, cannot make much of difference, a good general doest have to be strong, but need to be good at strategies, unfortunately, Liu Bei doesnt have lot of those kind of general other than Zhuge Liang, thats why he cannot even find a permanent land before Zhuge Liang join his side.

So Shu may have the superior duelists but inferior generals. That's damn hard to argue with, Cao was immensely charismatic and gathered so many talents around him. However, I think Zhang Fei, as a general, could have given most of the Wei generals a run for their money. Wei Yan was not only good for personal combant either, he kept the north safe from Wei for many years. Although I tend to agree with you overall
