this is basically the saddest thing ever. But anyone who thinks this break-up is for good is kidding themselves. It's only season 2 folks, and they're the main romance in the show that MOST people root for. They're Gossip Girl's equivalent to Seth and Summer. I imagine they'll spend most of the season apart, and then maybe get back together toward the end, but I think it's a pretty safe to say that by the end of the series itself, Dan and Serena will be together. It's just the formula.
