It is amazing to see these creatures acting just like my cats here at home. Biting, marking, tearing, and rolling on the boxes--all behavior I see in my household DSHs. I guess domestication didn't change the cats' minds and behaviors much, just their size! Oh, and I'm going to steal your idea for the horse/cow/dog thing--I bet my cats would have fun with that! How do you trim Joseph's hair?

@daisyvision we don't trim his mane, he wasn't very well a while back and his mane just thinned out on it's own, now he's doing good, he's put weight back on and the mane his growing back and looking better than before :)

Does a lions mane get bigger as the lion ages? So an elder lion would have a huge mane, whilst a juvenile lion would have a small mane? Do lions shed there mane with there coat or is the mane permanent?

@Teluur I don't believe so, a juvenile has to grow his mane in over time, but once he has it it's there for good :)

@1quirkyblonde Cameron and Zabu were rescued from a roadside zoo that closed down, they were living together there and were probably introduced to each other at a young age so they don't know any better. Since being rescued we have fixed them both so they cannot breed and they enjoy each others company so we kept them together this gives them someone to be with :)

Big cats haven't had the wild bred out of them like a housecat and even a housecat bites and claws at people. Check Joseph's reaction to the Camera guy being too close to his meal/toy and Joseph has been around people his whole life!

@jblancashire Joseph was becoming more and more aggressive towards the others cats, always "protecting" his girl Sasha, so we moved Niki and Simba up front into a 3 acre enclosure to enjoy :)

Did you put anything in the boxes for them to sniff out? I remember the Wild Cat Sanctuary in Minnesota put a blend of spices in some pinatas that was very intriguing for their cats.
