You need to check your FAR/AIM. There is an amended FAR part 135.105 that states "If it is equipped with an operative approved autopilot system and use of that system is authorized by appropriate operations specifications", a second in command is not needed. This means an additional FAA flight test has to be conducted, by a certified FAA flight instructor verifying the PIC can handle the aircraft without a 2nd in command.
Actually, you have the right answer with the wrong reference. A Gulfstream or Lear has approved autopilot and still requires two pilots. That FAR applies to Barons, etc. that are single pilot aircraft but would otherwise require two pilots under for 135 operations.
There is a SFAR that allows pilots with minimum turbine time and additional training to fly the 550/560 single pilot for Part 91 operations only.
This is a sweet bird. The pilot and his son are good friends of mine. I rode in the right seat to Lunken Executive a year ago in this plane. As a pilot myself it really boosted my confidence in leaning toward corporate flying when I reach the flying requirements!
hope you have the ratings to sit in that seat......

Ha ha. Yeah captain america DOES have single pilot certification. However I DO have the ratings to sit in that seat whether he was or not.
