  • Dear Manjula Thank you for your excellent recipes and your brilliant presentation, Could I use canned chickpeas for quickness? What is your thought on not boiling the chickpeas? Thank you,

  • yes, chick peas are not boiled for falafel :)

your tahini sauce recipe is yum !!

  • I tried to make the falafel but they all broke when i put them into hot oil :(

  • I enjoyed watching your version of felafel sandwich - obviously a spicy one! Thanks as always for your great instructions. It has encouraged me to experiment a bit with the felafel I used to make. Have a great day.

  • she has put oil in tahini sauce but i wonder if raw oil is edible ??? i doubt it Lady !!

  • Falafel is popular arabian food

  • nice:) looking forward to try this, especially the tahini which is a very different version to the one I am used to.

  • Manjula - thanks very much for your beautiful cooking video outlining how to prepare "the perfect falafel sandwich!" I prepared some fresh falafel patties this evening & can't wait to serve to my parents tomorrow! This is my first time coming across your' fantastic YT Cooking Channel, so keep up the great work! Warm Regards, BertD

PS. You've inspired me to start over again, but this time, STICK TO IT!!

  • hi manjula.. it will taste better if u dont boil the chickpeas before making the mixture.. try it...:) cheers...

  • @shyam2010

Thanks I will try nxt time wgen I am making Falafel.

  • i love ur recipes u

  • Hi Manjula Aunt, it is looking so good.. I ate falafel last time when I was living in Israel almost 9 years ago, my rememberings are getting regenerate...your presentation is very good... I will try this as soon as quickly. I have a question about falafel ingredients, can we use soaked and cooked lentil pure in addition to chickpea pure in the falafel recipe?

  • Manjula Thank you for your wonderful recipe! I am so glad to have found your site on Internet! I really enjoy watching and learning new recipe! Rejane

  • I tried the recipe but the inside of the falafel tasted like raw legumes and in fact it was just like the mixture before frying: totally raw. I don't think they should taste that raw... what I did wrong?

  • @OurBestMusicChannel oil was probably too hot so the outside got crunchy before the inside was cooked

  • manjula: i tried your recipe and it was awesome. then i bought ready made falafel -that i used to buy all the time- and they tasted like sawdust patties. you have set the bar too high! love ur channel :)

  • Nice Video. I like to put red onions in it.

  • This looks so yummy.

  • thanks for sharing ....gone impress my wife with this recipe to morrowe night :)

  • I noticed that you didn't put any garlic into the falafel balls or the techina...

I thought this was an absolute must ~~

Thank you so much for sharing...

    Have a fun winter day...

    Surie

  • Manjula aunty..I love your receipes. I do not have food processor. Can i grind them in my mixer? Please let me know.

  • @laxmisureshful

you can use mixer grind little at a time

  • @Manjulaskitchen Thanx for your reply aunty.

  • Tahini sauce ,,,hmmm,, now i know how to make it . life is complet now ..thanks :)

  • Manjula do you toast you cumin seeds?

    Love your recipes. Thanks

  • Indian Falafels lol..

We don't add flour, ginger, cumin seeds and chilis..falafel should be simple and that what makes them special!

Tahini sauce isn't green and it should have garlic.

  • @reveredos Why stick to stifling guidelines with food? 'All' food preparation methods undergo a process of evolution over time. What boring cuisine we would have today if we never took the initiative to change them.

  • @reveredos Although I agree that the original recipe is simpler than Manjula's it's also true that falafals are known world-wide and, like Italian pizza, have undergone a lot of recipe changes on their travels. That's what is so interesting about internationally known foods. Its always worth trying out a new method even if you end up liking the original best.

  • Thanks for this great recipe - I love it because you explained how to make tahini sauce without ready made tahini.

  • what is the brand name of the mixer and food processor do u use?

it was a really impressive recipe

    Thank u 4 sharing it:)

  • Oh My Gosh! I will make this one day!

  • Explained very well indeed. cooking for yourself and friends can be so rewarding so i think society would be a lot more happy if we cooked for each other often, cheers. The girlfriend says hi and thanks too.

  • if somebody doesn't have Tahini (sesame sauce), they can toast sesame seeds in a pan without oil. Be careful since the seed get toasted very quickly. :-)

  • rock on!!

  • Tried it tonight and it was great. The Tahini sauce was excellent. Thanks again.

  • thae pita bread is just pasitani naan

  • @TheKathy51

Pakistani naan doesn't have a pocket like that. Just some smal bubbles of air.

Would be cool if Manjula would show how to make pocket pita bread also..

  • ooooh sooo tasty!! I'm going to try that out!

  • your 1 teaspoons look really big... u sure it's not tablespoon?

  • You are truly amazing.. Thankyou so much for such good lessons.

  • I have never seen GREEN tahini sauce and I never saw anybody putting green chillies in falafel and tahini. The main falafel taste comes from crushed coriander seeds, that are completely missing here. The best falafel I had, came from Lebanon ( the mint leave / parsley version ), following Iraq ( with hot mango sauce !)

However, Manjula´s indian recipies are great !

  • @BildTube I go to several shops that have both bland brown tahini as well asa green sauce. It's tasty; try it out!

    Coriander to taste, I suppose.

  • This looks wonderful! I am not Indian but love Indian food and enjoy trying my hand at cooking Indian food and other Middle Eastern dishes. Could you please tell me what small blender you used to mix the tahini. Thank you for sharing!

  • I've had plenty of falafels (although your recipe sounds way better!) but I've always skipped the sauce, as I really don't like the yogurt dill sauce served with it. But your tahini sauce looks amazing! I can't wait to make it!

  • love your take on the tahini sauce. thank you! Manjula is the best!!

  • I made this yesterday and it was very good! It was almost like the kind I get at a good restaurant.

  • Indian falafel! This is the first time I've ever seen such a spicy version of falafel.

  • Manjula is awsome! This is my favourite cooking video show :)

  • I LOVE! falafel! Its one of the few Vegan dishes you can get at a restaurant in my country. And i also love to prepare some at home =P

  • mrs manjula thanx again for sharing with us!!! i can wait 2 try this!!!!!!!!!! love all u recepies.

  • Thanks for making Indian cooking soooo easy for us. I'm really going to give this one a try.

  • lovely! i will have a lot of uses for that tahini sauce :)

  • Manjula Ji

Thanxs again for sharing a wonderful recipe i will definate make this as breakfast for weekend

  • @parrotpotterstudio No worries - thanks for the tips, will certainly give it a go :-)

  • Hello Manjula,

One suggestion......For the sake of your viewers...

Take one or two bites of your finished product!

It's kind of anti-climactic when, after all the time it took to make the food, you don't eat it! :(

    Thank

  • Thank you Manjula... I'm going to try this soon!

  • MMMmmm. looks sooo healthy and yummy.... looks delicious ..Thank u for sharing this recipe with us....

Love all ur recipes there great...

  • Dear Manjula

thanks for all the gr8 recipes u are one of my favorite home cooks on utube

but can you make ari ladoo/rise ladoo, plz? its a dessert from kerala

    kind regards,

    Lolo

  • Can't wait to try this. I have been using a mix to make falafel but it's so expensive and makes so little. The last recipe I tried was tasty but the falafels fell apart during frying! I had to shallow fry the remaining ones. For serving, one can really serve them in all sorts of ways. I add chopped tomatoes, lettuce, and cucumber pieces. And then the sauce I use is made of yogurt, sour cream, dill, and green onions. And then a dash of hot sauce.

  • looking real yummy gonna do that one tonight

  • are the cuman seeds gherra?

  • what kind of camera do you use? the quality is amazing! and the falafel looks incredible

  • Mmmmm....I love Falafel. I've made them from a boxed mix. I'm going to have to make them from your recipe! Thank you!!!

  • wow thankx i'll make it tomorrow.

  • Looks gorgeous. I love Mediterranean food as well as Indian obviously.

  • I love fallafel! Thank you Manjula!

  • Ohh I am going to do this soon...it is so new...I have not heard of any of these items...thanks for sharing...I would love if you share something other than Indian items you know...that would be really awesome..

  • What kind of oil do you fry in? Thanks for all your posts!

  • @TrackDaysByKris

    I use canola oil

  • Truly inspiring!!!

Thank you for this awesome recipe.

  • Thank you for your recipe. It is nice and easy

  • can you use canned garbanzo beans? thanks! i can't wait to try!!

  • Wow!!! This looks so good. I actually think I could make this. Thanks. -C

  • Thanks Manjula, for all yor great recipes!!

  • Looks very nice Aunty!

  • Fantastic!! Thx so much for this video.

  • Can someone tell me how this tastes like? Looks very flavorsome. Thanks for sharing.

  • Very nice! I'm glad I found this channel!

  • I love your version of both falafel and the tahini sauce. Thanks again!

  • I love teh indian touch, hot n spicy,..,.thank you!

  • looks great.

this recipie seems adjusted to the Indian taste,

the original falafel has no ginger in it, and far less chilli.

also the tahini has no green chilli at all, it's supposed to calm

the hottness of the other stuff in your pita :-)

  • @catman72 Yes - this is definitely not the original Middle Eastern falafel/tahini, but considering that it's an Indian cooking show, I don't begrudge her adapting other cuisines to her native palate. It happens everywhere. An Indian curry served in a Nottingham curry house is much sweeter than the original, and Americans eat "Chinese" dishes that are unknown in China. Check out Domino's intern'tl website & you'll be amazed at the number of cultural variations on an Italian favorite. Cheers!!

  • wow looks ssooo tasty, sure to prepare them for a picnic...

  • thank you Manjula for all your recepies..xx

  • Falafel burgers are my current favourite fast food thanks for telling us how to make it! Can't wait to try green tahini sauce

  • Great recipe.. can we freeze the falafel before frying and keep it for another day ? If yes ..for how many days can we keep them ?

  • Thanks for the recipe, Manjula. Can you oven bake these instead of frying?
