Cantrell plays great solos, to me virtuosos and metal shredders are great, then there are some that fkn suck at soloing, its fast, but al together its sloppy and u can tell more when they play live, cause they cant play their own shit, for me a good solo is one with good notes, nice feel and a decent amount of speed...a solo played at 1000 miles per hour does nothing for i walk away from it like ok next song, its a solo but its empty, it misses something

its not just enthusiasim, but true talent. Jerry doesnt seem too self absorbed. Maybe thats why he can get aware with the solos. Not to many guitarists, these days can. Plus they really are damn good. I still wish there were more bass and drum solos too. I guess things change...

@SuperChickenpasta I like how he doesn't let duvall stray too much, because its still the same old AIC that i fell in love with, but in that understanding that the band does have to mature and change over time. I'm not too sure but AIC rocks haha

@brendanleach Soul? Bullshit. Anyone can learn how to play with "soul". Herman Li has absolutely no skill. He is one of the sloppiest wankers I've ever heard. Learn some theory. It helps musicians achieve a desired effect such as "soulfulness" like Mr. Cantrell demonstrates in this video.
